Crazy High Prices. They charged my 80 year old aunt almost $50 each (Plus Labor) for spark plugs for her little 2012 Nissan Versa. Retail price for the same spark plugs at Local auto parts stores was around $18 each. They charged her $217 for the one coil they replaced (Plus Labor). Retail price for same coil at local parts store was about $62. Almost $700 for four sparks plugs, one coil and one gasket. Then the car had to be repaired again because they only replaced one coil. Good practice is to replace all four coils as they are hard to get to. So she had to pay for the same labor all over again a second time, plus three more overpriced coils. read more

I chose this because it is very close to where I work. Just want to change the rear brake pads. they told me have to replace the entire brake system. It cost about $430. Takes 30 to 35 minutes to complete. Well, I arrived there at 3:00 pm, until 4:10 my car was just raised and no employees work on it. I went to ask employees how long it would take to complete, and he told me that the parts have not been delivered. Then At 4:20, an employee told me that my car was almost finished and I need to pay. I got up and paid for it. and I got my car at 4:30. In other words, he only took 20 minutes to replace my car brakes but charge $125.98 in labor. So disappointed read more

It's tough for me to rate a company as One star but my experience today at Express Oil Change was ridiculous and negligent. I have been taking my personal and company vehicles here for over 2 years. Apparently the ownership changed November 2016 and it shows. I brought my personal truck In for a routine oil change today any everything was smooth until I pulled out of the shop and noticed that my transmission seemed to be slipping. I pulled over into a parking spot outside of the shop and turned around to ask the shop worker if they had done anything to the transmission because it seemed to have been slipping. I have driven this truck everyday for the past 2 years and anything out of the ordinary is immediately noticed. The shop worker checked and said everything looked Ok. He shifted through the gears and it seemed to work fine. As I drive home from spring to central Houston, my truck seemed to come out of gear at stop lights. I immediately brought it to my normal mechanic and told him to check the transmission fluid because something isn't right. Sure enough, little to no transmission fluid in the system. I would have left it at that and not even called the shop but when we checked the oil level, it was WAY over filled. Like crazy over filled. They must have drained the transmission fluid by accident and double filled the oil. I called the manager of the shop and he remembered me stopping in there today and how I had come back because something wasn't right. He basically told me that because he did not have the chance to look at it, that there was nothing he will do. I asked him how I was supposed to drive it 30 miles back up North to their shop with no transmission fluid And twice the amount of oil in the engine? That's crazy. My worry is that if someone that wasn't very knowledgeable with vehicle repair had this happen to them, they may have driven the vehicle more without thinking much about it. This could have destroyed the transmission and the engine! Unbelievable!!!! I was offered a free oil change but No refund ($65) for this reckless service. read more

Mom of three kids who just needed a quick oil change. Brought my husbands jeep once before and my jeep once before as well. The guy who is checking my vehicle tells me I need my air filter changed. No thank you..(my husband can change that for free). So he changes my oil and then he tells me The manager needs to talk to me. The manager then tells me my jeep is leaking brake fluid and he asked who did my brakes. I told him I had last taken my jeep to firestone to get my brakes done. He told me I may need to have my calipers changed. He then looks inside my jeep and sees both my toddlers sleeping...And tells me to get it fixed soon because it's unsafe. I then have my brother jack my jeep up to check what's going on. The screw valve was loosened so that brake fluid would leak. Thank God for older brothers. Lesson learned, don't do business with these people. I get the fact that it's a business..but don't try to sucker people out of their hard earned money. read more

Beware......If you are in need of mechanical work in Atlanta, please don't go to the Howell Mill location. Went into this location because my car needed an oil change (the only service light on in my car). After receiving 305 dollars worth of services (alignment, rotate and balance, filter change, etc), I left out with a low tire pressure light. Took it to the dealership the next day where I normally have my car serviced and they said that a sensor was broken. There were no sensors broken prior to having my car serviced at that location. After calling them, they provided poor customer service and of course took no responsibility for the broken sensor that coincidentally occurred after my visit there. Take your car to a dealership to be serviced. You'll thank me later. read more

Not pleased with service. Had a tire running low and had it patched. The air gauge was still low a day later and they told my wife to come back if it was still low. Came back on Saturday and they decided there was a nail in the tire and needed to replace it. They said they did not have our tire but would have it on Monday morning. Went in this morning and waited almost and hour and a half for them to put on a tire that was already there. It turned out that the tire they put on didn't match the other tires. I told the manager that when they said they didn't have our tire on Saturday I assumed they would order a matching tire. They didn't. Don't use these guys. read more

The principle is you lost it, didn't think to tell me at the time, and when I came up there the next day to ask you to put another screw on it, you tell me that it's fine and I don't need another one on there. I had my oil and filter changed at Express Oil Change , less than 1 week ago....and noticed my car was leaking oil today in my garage and driveway.. I took it to a mechanic , and they said BOTH my oil drain plug AND my oil Filter was not properly screwed in and was causing leakage at BOTH locations... This Express Oil change is located near McDermont Drive and US 75 in Plano.... I will never use them again .... or any other Express Oil facility. We believe in providing accurate truthful advice regarding our experiences as customers. The manager (Joe) has always been honest and professional. (Joe that STAR IS FOR YOU!) Because of our experience with Joe is why we had continued to be repeat customers. 'But Consumers Beware'...for if anything goes wrong and you have to deal with the OWNER of this franchise, don't expect to be impressed OR even dealt with FAIRLY or professionally. On our last oil change a technician neglected to change out the o-ring and did not correctly tighten the plug on the drain pan. This resulted in loss of all oil from our vehicle and overheating/damage of the engine. We have statements from (1) an independent certified mechanic as well as (2) our insurance adjuster provided picture and a written statement as to the cause of the damage. We can completely validate the root cause of the $5,000 damage yet... We have attempted to contact the owner of this location to reconcile the damages to our engine on SEVERAL occasions. He REFUSES to follow-up in a professional manner. We have forwarded SEVERAL EMAILS and left several voice messages. He DOES NOT respond to our emails/calls. He has also REFUSED to have his liability INSURER follow-up with us in regards to the needed repairs. This experience brings a definitive meaning to 'use at your own risk'. The owner of this location is a professional at ONLY being UNprofessional. We did learn that Texas through the Deceptive Trade Practices-Consumer Protection Act offers some advice to consumers on finding a good mechanic. It's not everyday that you get really good service and that trusting feeling when dealing with anyone in the auto service industry, but these guys made me feel like they were going to make me feel satisfied no matter what I complained about. It might be the owner, he's a pretty charismatic guy or it could be the guys doing the work that bent over backwards to take care of my daughter. She said they did a great job, but I was skeptical and called to make sure they didn't take advantage of her even though the bill was pretty reasonable. The owner ended up showing me how much he saved her and how much he could have charged her. He didn't charge to turn her rotors. The brake pads were less than Autozone. He did charge some book listed labor charge. I checked with autozone and he was on the up & up. I'll continue to give these guys my business because they took care of us. I was pretty surprised this guy took time out to explain this to me. I was expecting an argument. They seem to be the upgrade from Jiffy Lube. Pretty professional operation. Almost like the Target to the Walmart without the price hike. Good service at a good price. I don't expect miracles but I like anyone that takes time out to talk to me especially when I am spending my hard earned money. read more

From the second I took my car in to the second it left the lot (which was a week later because it had so many issues!) we were treated fairly, communication was on point, and pricing was transparent and explained well, which is not easy to find. I've never taken my car in and gotten as many updates as these guys gave me. I went in with some serious concerns with my slipping transmission. I was told that there would be a 60 dollar diagnostic fee and I agreed to this. A mechanic took it for a drive around the block and we observed that, yes, there is slippage, but it was not extreme or critical that it be fixed immediately. As it is an older vehicle and I hope to get a newer vehicle in the near future, we both agreed that it would not be worth fixing at this time. With that, they changed broken tail light, charged my 7 dollars and sent me on my way without charging any extra for the diagnosing. That kind of integrity and not trying to stiff people won them a customer. I will continue to do business with them. read more

I was a bit disappointed in my experience. I went in with an air-conditioning problem. Joe said that they could fix it because they were a full-service shop in the past. He mentioned some issues that could cause the problem (all pretty expensive to fix) - but - I told him that I had gone to another reputable dealer and that those issues could have been ruled out. Part of the diagnostics required that freon (with a dye) be placed into the car. So - where ever there was a leak, one should be able to see the dye. Sounded like a good approach. The problem I had was that the air-conditioner was fully recharged (with new freon) on Tuesday. He said that he did not see any kind of leak (even though I had been there over an hour). He charged me $89 and told me to come back "no later than Friday". By Thursday, the air-conditioner was hot - once again. I was surprised of that because for the air-conditioner to run "hot" after only 3 days, the leak would have to have been the size of Mac Truck - but yet - Joe said that he never saw anything. If the air-conditioner was leaking that badly, then why fully recharge and put freon in it in the first place? I brought this up to Joe and asked for a refund. He said "there are no refunds" with that kind of work. I guess they are good at changing the oil but I would have to think twice about using them for anything else other than that. read more

I have used the location on Montgomery Highway twice, once for each of my vehicles. The young man I dealt with was very kind and a wonderful customer representative. However, this last visit resulted in someone getting into my vehicle with something in their pocket and made a small puncture hole in my seat. I immediately called them after picking my truck back up to make them aware and was told to come by the next day. The manager didn't even look at it before he decided it didn't happen there. If this is an example of how he treats customers I can't imagine how he treats his employees. This was a poor example of how to treat a customer, all I was asking for was them to patch this hole. I will NEVER use them again and I will make sure to tell everyone I know not to use them. read more

Stopped by for an oil change, asked about their A/C service because my A/C had been leaking for a few months, been refilling it with those $50.00 A/C refills from the auto part store. They charged me about $85.00 to replace a couple valves, vacuum out the old freon and refill it with new. They also put some dye in the A/C lines telling me if it leaked again to bring it back up there and they find the leak and refill it for free. (Repairing the leak would cost more of course) A/C's working like new and the oil is changed, I can't complain... And I'm quick to complain if you're taking my Money, I had better get something in exchange. read more
