Runflats are a whole different ball game when it comes to mounting and dismounting. And this was a huge wide wheel. This is a great tire shop. You can make an appointment on line and be in out of the place. The staff is efficient. I have been here a lot! Luckily the warranty covered my tires on two occasions and a few of the others they were able to patch up holes. Houston construction has caused me to have multiple occasions of screws getting in my tires. They have slipped a couple times messed up my tire sensors and kept my tire lock but other than those two things they have been great! read more

They helped me so much and a time that has been rough for me. Cliff was amazing he is the person who helped me. I've been hard on money and he saw my tires were really bad. He told me that someone had just came in and got new tires and they just so happen to be the same size as mine and the tires that they were replacing we're still in very good shape. Discount tire replaced the two tires that I needed replaced badly for free and also replaced the valve that was bad on my other Tire which is why I actually went up there for free. It took everything out of me not to cry in the middle of the store and I made sure I gave Cliff a big hug when I left. The service here is tremendous. I had ordered tires and had an appointment at 4pm. I called to see if I could get in earlier and was told they did not have any available appointments, but I could bring my vehicle in as a walk-in. I decided to do that and figured I would be waiting a while. I arrived right before they opened. Once they opened the doors, the staff started taking customers left and right. There wasn't a single employee who was not helping someone. The store opened at 8am and I was helped within 15 minutes (there were a lot of customers there already). Jason was the person who helped me. As a already mentioned, I had ordered the tires online, however, when Jason went to see if the tires were there, he said he could not locate them. Instead of trying to upsell, Jason said he would give me a tire that was at a higher price for the same price as the other tires I had ordered. Such a positive experience! We've been DT customers forever. Had a flat tire and though they were busy they took care of me. Quickly assessed my situation, told me they could fix it and it was about an hour and 15 min wait. Luckily, this location is in a great spot surrounded by places so we went to eat while my car was getting worked on. MEH! I had gotten a quote on new tires and wheels in late September and the guy suggested I wait till thanksgiving to when they have Black Friday deals. I went to this store ready to buy a set of wheels and tires if the price was right. The first kid that helped me was nice and attentive for the first couple of minutes ,until the phone rang then I lost him when he started helping the person on the phone. That pissed me off but ok they were slammed so I let it go. Then another kid comes up and puts a package together and says he will call to see if he can get better pricing then sees that I had already been quoted back in late September. He then said that's the best he can do is their rebates which actually got me to within $200 of my $2000 budget. He said he wouldn't call to get any better of a deal because he had great buying power yada yada yada blah blah blah so the kid lost a sale because of his ego more than anything. If I was the store manager and I saw that shit happen I would have to rethink the way my sales force is conducting business. I'm too old to get into a pissing match. I can pay cash and get a much better deal at the mom and pop shops so I guess I'll take my business else where and let this Discount Tire be the king of buying power. read more

Needed some tires for my wife's Volvo. Woke up Saturday morning and began searching on the computerator. I first checked online for this particular store to see if they carried my particular sized tire. It's an odd size. No problem for Discount Tire! I found a set online for a very competitive price. I picked up the phone and called to make an appointment. The assistant that helped me out said I could set an appointment for noon. Got the family into the Volvo and drove out to their shop. Pulled in about 20 minutes early. Spoke to a salesman, can't remember his name. He was the only one wearing a Texans jersey. He was very friendly and very knowledgeable about tires. We both went out to do a Safety Check on my old tires. I explained to him that I was getting a Tire Pressure error light periodically. He said no problem, he would check the sensors. Went back inside and paid for the tires. Went back outside and checked the sensors. All were good! By this time, it's right at noon. I walked inside and sat with my family for 5 minutes. In goes the Volvo! 20 minutes later, we are driving of with a new set of tires! All in all, a very pleasant experience! No pressure to buy the $1200 set of tires. I told them what I wanted and they provided with a smile!! I will be back in a couple of months for my truck tires! read more

First off, I just want to say that I've used Discount Tire for the last 5 years and 4 sets of tires on my car with no trouble. They are the first people I recommend to anybody looking for tires. My last visit and set of tires in September, didn't have such a pleasant outcome. This is the first time I used the Tomball location. They gave me a great price on the tires and we setup an appointment to install them. The only two requests I made of them was to use the jacking pucks and to have my original valve stem caps returned to me. I wait around the couple hours it takes to have the work done and when I inspect the new tires, I noticed they manage to somehow damage all 4 wheels and all of my stem caps are not original. Some of the damage was noticeably from the wheel machine (scratches around the edges) but there was other damage that I have no idea how they managed to accomplish. Some of the spokes had deep gouges in the finish and some of the center-caps had scratches in the paint as if they would have just thrown it down face first. I talked to the manager on duty about this issues and he was skeptical that the damage was caused by them. Also, when I showed him all of the issues I clearly pointed out the one area of preexisting damage. They ended up having their claims department open a case. They sent an inspector to my home to take pictures of the wheels and he indicated to me that some of the damage looked "normal" and that some of the other places were unusual. Discount Tire ended up denying all responsibility for any of the damage, including the places that are typical of an employee that doesn't know how to properly mount low profile, run-flat tires. I didn't get an apology or even a slight discount off of the work performed to mount and balance. There is no way to really dispute the case any further because it is my word against theirs. It is certainly not worth pursing in court and I don't really have any evidence I could provide. If you have nice wheels, I would strongly recommend taking pictures of the 4 wheels before having work done so you have some proof to protect you against their screw-ups. I still will have no hesitation using Discount Tire, but I will protect myself from now on. read more

Good morning prayer warriors. Yesterday was a most interesting day. Let me go back to Saturday. I bought two tires at Discount tires in Tomball so we could make a trip to Northern Dallas. All was fine until we were on our way back Monday. Car started shaking. By Tuesday we had lost all Control of our car. Mind you Discount insisted that the new tires be put on the rear. DON'T EVER DO THIS if you have a front wheel drive car. Our front end locked up, computer shut down and we could have been killed. Thanks be to God we have a long time Christian repair man. He said that due to their actions with the placement of the tires our car could have caused a major accident. But what really makes me angry is that I went in with four tires that were alike, all bought last February 2016 when this was Mr. Cowand's car. When we got to the mechanic, not only were the tires put on incorrectly, but the two older tires did not match. Those damn idiots stole one of my tires and replaced it with an inferior tire that did not even belong to me. Theft pure and simple. So today I am going to Discount to confront them. Today Thursday 18 January 2018 I took in a tubeless tire to get aired up. Instead they took the tire off the rim and told me they could not air it up because of a crack in the side wall of the tire. They then wanted to dispose of the tire and sell me a new one. I left there and went to NTB down the street. NTB put the tire back on aired it up and we then tested it for leaks in a water tank with no leaks. What the heck has happened to this location?? I will no longer have my tires cared for at this location. Good tires at good prices. I recommend waiting to get tires from there around holidays, even Valentines Day, as they usually run sales like buy 3 get one free. The service is good but sometimes you can get a kid who does not know much. Another tip, if you value your valve caps then Remove them before you go. From the time I walked in ( and it was super busy) and until I left they were very thorough and prompt on my needs as I had to have them balance and rotate my new tires of only 2 weeks since the location near my home ripped me off and was incompetent by not doing their job. Did not wait long and they also noticed the other Discount location stripped a lug nut and sent me to a car center thru use to get it repaired for free. He told me he would be the price I was given in person at NTB for 4 mich tires. Drove back over here to get tires put on and when I come in person, low and behold, price shoots up again. I had 4 new tires installed on my Forest River camp trailer at Discount Tire on Monday, March 20. I've spent time in lots of tire stores over the decades...some were a dirty mess but had great service, some were spic-and-span with crappy service. Discount Tire of Tomball is one of the few I've found with great, professional and friendly service and bright clean inviting facilities to boot. Dillon (manager?) respectfully educated me about the tires I had in mind, and quite correctly pointed me in a better direction. Employee Cody took the task in hand with a friendly smile...not always easy when you have to change tires on a big RV in the parking lot instead of a shaded work bay. The large and open waiting area had fresh hot coffee on hand to boot. PLUS you can stand just outside the front door and literally see tons of places to eat and shop within walking distance if you need to do something else to spend your short time waiting. Brad Watson is the store manager and he is an all around great guy. This is exceptional service and quality workmanship. I agree with Robert C. I hate that policy where they refuse to put the tires on where I want them placed. I know their reasoning. They believe that they are eliminating hydro-planing accidents. However, the tires I have on the back are not bad when I come in and want two put on front that are new. Why can't they just get you to sign a hold harmless agreement? Why can't they just comply? Additionally, some of the techs do the old service modus operendi where they are always trying to sell you stuff you don't need. Especially pushing me to purchase tires before they're worn out. Some of the kids are great. Others are just greedy for a commission, I guess. read more
