I had a side entry door install that was okay but the door had termites eating it in less than…read more6months. All door wasn't the issue cause it was a steel door the door sweep and jamb was the issue. Justin expected me to explain to him my issue know the terms to describe the issue I was having. Which now I know after arguments w him at first. I would have thought Justin would send someone out to inspect rather than just a phone call to conclude anything. I was told termites don't eat new wood, especially pine which I found out all are not true especially pine wood. Termites love pine! Hermosa window door didn't paint the inside of the jamb before install. Who doesn't do that! Only told me to paint the outside which I did as told by the installer to avoid termite eating the wood and protect the wood. Lowe's would not replace it and do the job correct. Funny I had the house tented prior to install. But again Justin said I need to tent my home. It's my fault termites are eating the door I guess. Zero possibility they were with the wood they brought. And even if Lowe's said they'd okay the door sweep to be redone I wouldn't want hermosa window and door to do the redo. I adjusted this review to say one last thing. The door was installed properly given the manufacturer supplies given. It is not hermosa fault mostly. I wish the installer would have recommended painting inside yes he did check prior and found no damage that why it's confusing tent and no damage but after six months door is getting eaten from inside. I'm puzzled. in the end are they just the installer. Lowe's and the manufacturer are at fault mostly. Please know the product your getting Only reason I wouldn't have hermosa re install is because of our phone call. Thank you.

Highly recommend for Door installations, really knows his stuff!…read more Luis and his team did an excellent job, and consistently went the extra mile. They expertly drilled and hung my new modern front door ("blank" mahogany wood, purchased through Home Depot and installed in a pre-existing frame), including a Schlage Encode smart lock. He had all the right equipment to shave it on the sides, and the door hangs perfectly open midway. They installed 2 spring hinges to auto-close, plus weatherstripping, and when there was a small issue with the weatherstripping, he came back two weeks later free of charge and swapped out for an alternative solution. As a bonus, when I asked him for guidance regarding an unrelated window situation and was prepared to pay him to help me solve it, he immediately diagnosed why the window was stuck: the wood windowsill had swollen and was pressing against the window frame, causing the window to not slide easily. He removed the window and helped me repair the situation: something others wanted to charge hundreds of dollars to diagnose and fix! (And he later said "no charge".) Furthermore, as he moved through my house, he happened to notice that some of my inside-door hinges had popped up: told me what causes that, and told me HOW to easily fix it. (PLUS, why I would be smart to tap them down with a hammer myself instead of ignoring it.) Just because he's a nice guy. The man has an eye for door issues, and he is very generous in spirit. He seems to like what he does and genuinely cares about the customer. The cost he quoted over the phone for installing the front door and weatherstripping is exactly what he charged. There were no surprises. And just as importantly, for me: he was able to fit me in on a tight timeline so that I could coordinate with my painter and other contractors to meet the ideal overall project schedule I needed. It's so hard to find someone who is both available on a flexible timeline, and actually good at what they do. 5 Stars PLUS.
