Checked this out after booking the Explorer Pass on the Go City App. It's inside the Luxor hotel next to Titanic and Bodies Attractions. There's a short video that previews after you scan your ticket and take your photo. Then the screen raises and you go through it to see the exhibit. It mostly showcases Howard Carter discovering the tomb. It also showed the artifacts and some replicas of them. They show his medical issues also and his small family tree. It talks about the different gods and how his tomb looked and the process of mummification. There's a deciphering message in the heiroglyphs but it was too dark to really try to see and do. I liked Jacksonville more, but thatvwas a traveling one and not one that is permanent. Would definitely recommend for history buffs. read more

Since I'll probably not get to Egypt in the near future I decided to check out the "Discovering King Tut" exhibit at the Luxor. I knew everything was reproductions, but very well done and did not diminish the power of Howard Carter's discovery. I enjoyed it all and learned a lot. Later, in the excellent Gift Shop I met an associate who knew so much about Eygptiana and guided me in some purchases. A nice experience all around. read more

My family and I enjoyed this self guided tour. If I'm being honest I think I enjoyed the Titanic one a little more but this was really interesting. I'm not sure if any of the exhibits are really from King Tuts Tomb. I mean, out of all places why would they have them in Vegas? lol! But gaining more knowledge of the boy king was fun for myself and the fam. A little on the pricy side especially for the pictures. But still pretty cool nevertheless. Although the artifacts are reproductions and not the originals, they are very well made, and the exhibition is quite fascinating. The ambiance is great too because the room is dark, there's Egyptian music playing in the background, so it takes you back to another world. One of my favorites was the chariot, the bust of Nefertari, and they even recreated Tut's sarcophagi. You feel like you're in ancient Egypt. As always, everything related to King Tut is always intriguing, and this is no exception. Definitely worth it. read more

I might be a tad bit biased when it comes to this topic, giving the fact that I love everything ancient Egypt. But I must say I really enjoyed myself during my latest Luxor casino visit to the Discovering King Tuts tomb exhibit. Although everything that's on display is a replica, to the casinos credit they did however link up with the experts in this particular field like archaeologist, Egyptians and Egyptologist to create accurate or nearly accurate models of the original/authentic pieces. This exhibit is chalked full of photo ops, wonderful discoveries, historical facts and at the very end they have a well stocked gift shop where you can purchase a souvenir or two for the whole family. I would recommend checking this exhibit out to anyone who is interested/captivated by ancient Egypt as countless others are, myself included. It was a great experience and it'll hold me over until I take my long awaited trip across the pond to visit the British museum and my highly anticipated trip to the motherland to visit, various other museums of Egyptian antiquity/cultural heritage sites like the great Egyptian museum in Giza, the Egyptian museum in Cairo and last, but certainly not least the pièce de résistance. It was just OK. They put this exhibit right next to the Titanic exhibit, so you think that this one will also have real king tut artifacts. Nope. ... You go in, and of course you get your picture taken so they could sell it to you at the end in the obligatory gift shop stop... And the first thing you see is a movie about finding the tomb. Then you go into the exhibit itself. It is interesting, and it's nice to hear the stories, but other than photos, and newspaper articles about the finding, all of the "artifacts" are replicas. None of them we're actually from King tut. They were very good quality, but I was still kind of disappointed. I'm glad I had my Go City pass, because if I would've had to pay for this exhibit? I would not have been thrilled... The exhibits were interesting, but I would've probably taken my card to a different activity. Thank you anyway. Thanks anyway. read more

My wife had just seen the King Tut exhibit in Washington DC so she wanted to check this exhibit to see how it compared. We just got the regular reserved tickets at the box office (they offer a local discount) and we were satisfied with just reading as we walked through the exhibit. This is a very nice exhibit and provides a good over view of the Egypitian culture, King Tut and discovery of his tomb and what was found inside. Overall, we had a great experience and re-ignited our interest in visiting Egypt someday in the future. read more

My fourth grader wanted to do this every time we saw an advertisement. The advertising worked. We watched all of the informational videos from beginning to end. They were the right level to keep both of our attention. I would have liked more in-depth information, but I did learn a few things. We were here about an hour, but many groups passed us up, you could go through much faster. I am happy with the experience, but would not likely do it again. We had an amazing time! We didn't feel rushed or crowded in the exhibit which made it nice to take our time to read everything and enjoy the videos. The staff were so kind and helpful! We especially loved Albert! He took extra time and efforts to make the experience special and super memorable for our 9year old daughter! She felt like a VIP with Albert! Came here last weekend to check out the recreation of King Tut's Tomb. Located at the Luxor at the entrance of the Gift Shop. Immediately, greeted by the host, very friendly. First, started with a video which is the gateway to the learning experience of King Tuts life, the mummification process, learning different Gods and how the life of King Tuts impacts on today's culture and architecture. Our package included a telephone guided tour and the VR reality at the end of the tour. A great educational experience and very kid friendly for families. read more

This exhibit could be better - it's underwhelming and overpriced to be honest. I was excited when I got free "all inclusive" tickets since it brings me back to my childhood memories because I was into Egyptian culture and archeology when I was little. I've been to similar exhibitions in other countries, so I already knew the exhibition does not display any of the actual treasures, and artifacts are recreated to be exact facsimiles of the actual items. Although the exhibition itself has a good intention to educate children and people, the main issue I had with this place was staff and their reluctance to help customers. The first part of this exhibit is a movie (well, you are going to take a souvenir photo first). Unfortunately, the staff had very low energy and didn't explain anything to us but handed out some kind of ticket after he punched some holes. After we finished the video, we began our tour of King Tut's tomb. Replicas looked pretty cheap and unreal compared to other Egyptian exhibitions and they could have done it better, in my opinion. For some reasons, I could not really concentrate so I ended up not using the audio guide either. Once you finish touring, you will see your photo with a paper frame on the shelf. Since I had TWO "all-inclusive" tickets, I grabbed one and asked the staff if I can get one more photo. She asked me to show her the hole-punched ticket that I received at the beginning of the exhibit. After she looked at the hole-punched ticket, she called her coworker and got mad at him since he didn't punch the hole correctly. I mean, you have customers in front of you, you shouldn't be that upset. Anyways, we started our VR experience while she was printing out one more photo for us. I would definitely pass on the extra charge for the VR. My VR audio didn't even work but since I was already so disappointed with everything, I didn't even bother to ask to change my VR headset. It was also very laggy and it's basically reading the scripts that you already have read from the exhibit, and you probably know most of the information already. This exhibit could be much much better, especially when the ticket ranges $32 to $80 with a parking fee if you are not NV local. (Free for 3 hrs if you are local). read more

The overall experience was really great. I remember of staff even the box office agents were very pleasant and helpful. The pre-show reveal was actually pretty cool and I wasn't even expecting it. I think my favorite part is the fact that there are no actual historical artifacts in this exhibit. It's all reproductions done by artisans who know how to make these things. And personally, that feels a lot better than knowing that some priceless Egyptian antiquity is sitting in Las Vegas. All in all, the experience does focus pretty heavily on the "triumphs" of the expedition team. It does briefly touch on the damage that they did. But it does kind of gloss it over. Seeing the life size replicas of the tomb and the sarcophagus were pretty cool. And the deeper instruction on the gods and their religious hierarchy is nice. All in all, this is a great place to go if you know nothing about ancient egypt and would like to learn more. read more

So I saw other reviews and want to make it really clear that this is NOT a touring exhibit of King Tut's tomb. It's a stationary exhibit which should make it obvious that these are not the real artifacts. That and the fact that it's this inexpensive, there's not a ton of security around, and it's not super crowded. So set your expectations to reality and you won't be disappointed. The point is to give the feel of the tomb and the artifacts. That it does perfectly well. These give you an idea of the size and look of the artifacts, and they look really nice. We had a perfectly pleasant interaction with the employee so no complaints there either. We thought the movie first was interesting and then it opens up to the exhibit. Lots of information and photo ops all around. I loved the layered look of the sarcophagus and you get the vibe for what it would have felt like to discover this stuff. Personally I thought the video display covering his physical ailments was super interesting. I already knew he had issues but there's been updates in our knowledge base for science and medicine that provided me with new details I hadn't heard before (or don't recall anyway). Pros: +The replicas of the Egyptian artifacts are impressive Cons: -Leans heavily into the history of the British guy who led the expedition team, and acknowledges his actual Egyptian team as something of a side note. I feel uneasy about white explorers going in and uncovering other cultures' histories and then being celebrated for it. -It felt like an exhibit at a museum, a museum whose entrance fee would be half of what you pay to see this -For the price, I just feel like I'd want something a little more experiential in some way, not just some programs to watch and plaques to read. What an amazing discovery to stumble across at the Luxor. Absolutely phenomenal! At the beginning, Mr Nathan was extremely attentive and very welcoming. He greeted us with joy and began to explain all of the perks with the all inclusive pass which included the VR(Virtual Reality), a photo, and an audio tour guide. First off, photos were taken with some props as provided. Then we entered a room where we watched history of the Nile River and everything we were about to explore. Walking through the exhibit was quite loud, it was hard to hear the audio tour guide, but it was still doable. I actually learned a bit from this exhibit. It took 70 days for the mummification process, the heart was kept in the body to get weighed in the afterlife, and King Tut was discovered in 1922 by Howard Carter. Towards the end was the photo pick up and the VR section. The lady at the end didn't seem too pleased to be working there, but nonetheless, the VR was out of this world! Thank you NATHAN for making our tour phenomenal! He knew a lot and was willing to break down any questions we had. We also learned that everything in this exhibition was a replica. read more

All the displays are replicas. You could save the $30 ticket & watch National Geographic at home & have a better experience. It starts with employees who are completely indifferent that scan your ticket & direct you to a room with a short video. The screen rises & allows you to start the maze of rooms with reproduction artifacts & informational plaques. As exciting as a root canal!!! The replicas look like amateur work. The ticket was $32 and you'll spend about an hour wandering through this exhibit. We had a good time reading about all the details of the discovery of the tomb and even about mummification process, it's very informative. I felt like walking in a real museum.... We stayed at least an hour taking lots of pictures, Selfies and video. My all-inclusive experience for this attraction was mediocre. I grew up watching all kinds of historical videos about ancient civilizations and I was excited to see this attraction come to Vegas. The replicas of the treasures were recreated nicely and the descriptions of each were written clearly. However, the audio handset that I received as a part of all-inclusive pqckage was pretty much useless as no one explained how to use it. Also, the VR experience at the end of the attraction is not really worth the extra cost as it just goes around the tomb area where the treasures were discovered and you can easily access videos like this on Youtube with higher quality. What I really liked about this package was the souvenir photo given to me at the end of the tour. read more

Total ripoff. Every "artifact" is completely fake. Not a single authentic piece of history. They make the exhibit signs extremely hard to read so you buy the audio package. Such a shame! I wish I didn't waste money on this exhibit. We did not find out it was all replicas until we entered the exhibit. You have bodies with real bodies next door, titanic with a real piece of the Titanic and items off the ship. But this one was like walking through televisions of the discovery channel. We were done in 20min. The gift shop was the best thing about the experience and should be a staple Luxor gift shop. This could have been amazing if there were just even a few real artifact's. But to charge the same price when you have 2 exhibits next door that run circles around this...yikes! read more
