She was not getting her weekly showers and received frequent UTI's. She was not changed when wet and her sheets were soiled. She wore a gold cross necklace and her gold chain was replaced with a cheap chain. She lost 10 pounds in 3 months not always taken to the dining room. There were activities planned but they did not always happen because there was no staff available. PT's were not consistent and she was not making progress with walking. It was not uncommon to see employees sitting on their phones throughout the building. Not sure if they were on their breaks or not. Several residents said that things were better last year. We left Brookdale in Brookfield off Bluemound Road and took my mother in law to a different facility. At the new facility, she has always been dressed with her earrings on and eats in the dining room. At the new facility she is getting her baths and is able to walk the length of the PT room now. She eats in the dining room and participated in social activities daily.

Judging by just one visit, it seemed a little disorganized, but they are pretty new. Nice friendly group of residents, the kitchen dining area is very pleasant. The grounds still need landscaping (the expansion is very new), and the parking area is just barely adequate in size.

I went to the facility 3 days after her passing and they had already threw away her belongs. There is $6,000 credit on her account and we have yet to receive any reimbursement. When I tried to talk to someone my calls and voice messages go unanswered. This is not a place that you would want to put your loved one in.

Horrible place! I had visited my mother and she complained of terrible back pain. I asked her if…read moreshe had fallen down and she said she didn't know. Then, I proceeded to feel her back. I felt a very large bump that was about 6 inches vertical and 4 inches horizontal with about a 2 inch rise. I immediately went to the front desk and asked if they were aware if she had a fall. The Executive Director of the facility, Tina Stoflet, said that was something that needed to be discussed with the medical power of attorney. I asked, again, if they were aware of the situation. Stoflet, with a very rude expression, repeated that was something I needed to discuss with the POA. This is untrue, as I was not seeking to discover any medical diagnosis or condition. Stoflet remained argumentative and brought up some family disputes of which she had no business to be involved. I had a few words with her, some of which were colorful, but I was neither loud nor disruptive, and left. A short time later, I received a phone call from a police officer telling me I was no longer permitted to visit my mother. Unprofessional, uncaring, and apathetic. Since I am neither the medical nor the financial POA, there is nothing I can do about it...other than share my experience and prevent other families from having to deal with this facility.
