My child attended Discovery World Montessori for 2 years. Today was his last day there and I felt a review was much needed. During his time there, we noticed a significant positive change in academic progress. All the teachers were wonderful and treated our child like one of their own. We appreciate everything the staff have done for our child to help him excel. Sorry to see some parents did not have as great of an experience as we did. My son has been at his new daycare for 2 years now, and I always reflect back at my son's time at this daycare since this was his first one when he just turned 2 years old. The more time I have spent at my current daycare, I realize how sad I feel when I reflect back on when he was going here. This daycare is not nearly as warm as the daycare where my son spent his last 2 years. I remember when we first dropped off my son at this daycare, he was so scared and would cry a lot from the anxiety of leaving his parents. One of the suggestions that Ms. Toni said was not to carry him into the daycare and let him walk in. I'm not sure if this advise was to maybe make him less scared, but when I think back on that advise and how small my son was back then, it really makes me mad to even think that I took that advise as helpful. At 2 years old, a parent should definitely not feel like they can't carry their scared son into their first daycare. I also remember Ms. Toni commented that my son was constantly wanting to sit on Ms. Kat's lap and that she couldn't have him do that so often. When I see the kids in my current daycare, kids are on the laps of the teachers all the time and all day, especially if they need some comfort since they are showing anxiety being away from their parents. This school was so callous compared to the school that my son is currently at and I remember how scared he always felt when going there, which makes me sad and the reason why I'm writing a 2nd review. I also mentioned in an earlier review that I hated dropping off my son in the morning due to one of the teachers (Ms. Wafaa). She was always so rude to me, which made me worry about my son having to spend the morning with her. I hope she's no longer there, but if she is, she really needs to improve her demeanor. It's always hard to know how bad someplace is until you leave and go someplace else, so I'm glad we only stayed here for one year. read more

My son has been attending this school for roughly 9 months and has made tremendous growth both socially and academically. Before starting school he was was shy and closed off in social situations and to other children. After starting here, we've noticed he has become more outgoing when going to the park, and in other various social situations. The school does focus a lot on academics, so if that's not something you want to push on your child in pre-school, I would look elsewhere. He knew his ABCs and numbers before starting but has since learned all his letter sounds, is working on his penmanship, and comes home with knowledge about the solar system, world geography, parts of plants, etc. During the academic school year the 3-5 year old class has started sending weekly homework, and it is all review of work they do in the classroom. One other nice thing is the app that allows you to see teacher-posted photos of school activities, which gives an idea of what your child is up to at school. He has loved all his teachers-- Ms. Nermeen, Ms. Rasika, and Ms. Melissa. At this point they are still very covid safe, face masks are still required for both parents and children, also parents are still not allowed to go inside. Love the staff and the program here. My daughter has been enrolled here since she was about 20mos old, and she's 4 now. She's not even in TK and she knows how to write her name, follow cut patterns with scissors, read and write simple 3-letter sight words, name all 50 states from memory, recite the pledge of allegiance, follow dance steps, count and do addition and more. The whole school feels like one big family and we would like to thank Ms Toni, Ms Gina, Ms Kat, Ms Waffa, & Ms 'Rianna for all their care & support. We highly recommend this montessori. read more

Everyone here is very friendly, even if my son doesn't attend their class, the teachers seem to know his name. My son goes to their infant program, even though we can't go into the room due to COVID restrictions, my son always willingly goes into his class or comes out happily, i think that means he is enjoying his time there! I can also tell Ms Carmina and Ms Gladys truly care for the wellbeing of my son. Ms Toni (director) is also good in communicating with us. My 4 years old little girl attending discovery world Montessori since 6 month old. Mrs. Waffa is my little girl's teacher right now and doing a great job, being patience with my girl. My girl is really active, and always refuse to learn at the beginning. She is getting better and better. The Director, Ms Toni is nice and responsible, too. Her big sister was at Montessori at 6 month ,too ,right now she is 1 grade. She is doing really well at Elementary School and always miss Ms Waffa, Ms Toni, and all other teachers. This school is okay. Not wonderful but it could be worse. Both my kids came here for about 6 months last year. The toddler room teachers were amazing! They were great with my child and he enjoyed going to school. They also helped us with potty training! We had some issues with the 4 year old class, our child got hurt constantly. One of those incidents caused a large gash on my his face which was why we eventually pulled them out of the school. Academic wise, if you have a highly motivated child you will be fine. If your child takes a while to get used to the environment and get started, this place is pretty much just babysitting. Parking here is pretty terrible. The driveway is located on a large street and it was very hard to make a left turn. The building is quite old, I complained several times that the toddler room has a strange smell. read more

When our baby girl turned 22months, we decided, it's time to start daycare. This school is down the street from grandma's and is tucked between a semi-main street and residential area, no traffic not so open to public eye. It looks small from the outside, but is so much bigger when entering. The director Ms Toni is so good at responding to questions right away, and registration was easy. Because of covid, we couldn't do a full walk through orientation, but she sent pictures of the school environment before starting and since then, they do send weekly photos of the classes experiences. The staff are all so welcoming every morning, and they know all the kids. It's like a family. What we have appreciated the most is the patience they have given to our transitioning toddler. She was a challenge at first but she knows the routine now and is eager to go to school. They constantly kept us updated and we feel they work with us as a team to build a solid foundation for her growth. The current work is aimed at nurturing the milestones, and they also are strict about avoiding technology and encouraging exploration. I really enjoy the personalization of this place and really recommend for any potential students. read more

My daughter started in Room 2 and the teachers are always jolly and accommodating. This is a great school. My daughter learned so much and is progressing well. Our 3 year-old started at Discovery World a couple months ago and we have been very happy and impressed with the solid early education and the loving and caring environment that he is in. So far he has been exposed with solar system/planets, alphabets, shapes, numbers, etc., along many arts and crafts projects. One time he brought back a mountain-like piece of artwork and he amazed us by telling us that it was not a mountain, but a "trapezoid". He also got potty-trained at Discovery World and the whole process has been very smooth. Discovery World also take all COVID safety measures. Affordable and great! My daughter started in the infant room at 7 months and at the beginning of the year moved to the 2yo toddler room. Infant room: it's clean, spacious, and love the teachers! My daughter still talks about Ms Gladys and Ms Carmina. I really appreciate their warmth and their genuine love for the kids. My son will be starting Here soon and I have no reservations. Highly recommend Toddler 2-3yo: With COVID and the limits the school has put in place (nobody past the front entry) I have not actually seen the room, but based on photos and conversations the social distancing, masks, and other protocols are being enforced. My daughter loves it, so no complaints here. Covid response: I appreciate the school didn't hesitate to shut down immediately and took time to reopen with proper measures. It's not the most sophisticated like other daycares with cameras and such, but I trust the staff and genuinely appreciate what they do. read more

By far this was the only school that took my daughter when she couldn't walk yet at her age. Every daycare that I've ask from SGV to MP to Pasadena I've search everywhere and they wanted to put my kids in the infant section not toddler the fact that she couldn't walk yet but Discovery World took her and put her in her class took care of her and watch over her Ms. Toni and all the staff are awesome with my daughter to watch her to make sure other kid wouldn't step on her etc. My daughter learned so much in the pass year since she been there and I'm so great full to have her teacher to care for her and watch her carefully. All the teacher are very understanding of my worries and concerns as a first time mom and worries of my daughters safety and learning abilities. My daughter has been at this school since she was 2 1/2 years old. I wanted to wait till she finished at least 1 year at Elementary side to write a review for the elementary side. She is going into 2nd grade there starting this Fall. This school is a hidden gem because not many people realized or know that it goes up to 5th grade. Ms. Marie, the elementary teacher, is great. She really instill a love of learning to her students. She is always open to suggestions and make herself available to parents whenever they need her. We are so glad that we have kept her at Discovery World for elementary. She is actually learning ahead of her grade because Ms. Marie is teaching her students according to their speed. Especially since the class size is small compared to public school class size, each student really get enough time with the teacher. Ms. Marie has been able to really get to know my child and even us as parents. We actually are able to discuss with her concerns and goals for our child. Please at least check out the school for yourself to see that safe and nurturing environment is the way to go for your child's education. Beside Ms. Marie, the rest of the staff at Discovery World are really sweet and nice. Ms. Toni, the director, is always there too to make sure to answers any questions and keep the place running smoothly. It is nice that the place is being run by someone that was a teacher before. We've been apart of the Discovery World family since 2015 with our daughter starting from infant room to kinder and now our son for preschool. It has been a great experience that we are so grateful for. This school embraces and fosters the importance of child development in all aspects. We've been to three different Montessori schools in the area and this is one of the best. This school came highly recommended from friends whose kids went here and I'm so glad they were accepting new kids. This school has been a godsend. When my wife and I were looking into schools for our daughter, we visited about 10 schools. We decided on this one even though it was 13 miles from where we live because of their director, teachers, and program. The director, Toni, is reliable, open, and truly cares about her students. She communicates effectively and efficiently. The teachers all go above and beyond to ensure not only that our daughter receives a good education but also provide her love and emotional support. The program is truly Montessori. I am a teacher myself and appreciate the differences in each child. Their program understands that as well. They are accredited. Most importantly, my daughter is happy to go to school everyday. We attended another school for a few months before switching, and even after that period of time, she was not comfortable or happy. Both of my kids have been at Discovery World Montessori since they were infants. My oldest just graduated from Montessori this year. He is now at Kindergarten while my youngest is still at Montessori. Montessori definitely has helped to prepare him better at Elementary School. The teachers are very attentive with kids. They are patients. They put up with my kids' particularly. I can tell my kids love the daycare especially my oldest. My oldest gets upset on the days that I pick him up early. He complains he will be missing his time at Daycare. It's a good sign when kids like school. My youngest's teacher has modified his homework so it's more manageable for him and still getting him to start the habit of daily homework. Director Toni is great with kids. She was a teacher herself. The daycare runs better after she's a director. School has more fun holiday activities for the kids and this past summer program was great. The school underwent some remodeling and now is on "ClassTag" making it easier to see pictures from school and communicating with teacher. I like the positive changes at Montessori. My daughters attended Discovery World Montessori (DWM) from the time they were infants through pre-kindergarten. The teachers here are awesome! They genuinely care about your children and will provide a great foundation to achieve academic success. I love Discovery World Montessori. My son has been at a few daycare facilities but once we put him at Montessori we really saw a change. They have extended hours which is so helpful as a working parent. Now that he's in kindergarten there is more challenging work but he loves it. This is by far the best preschool!! The teachers are so nice and you can just tell how much they care about their students. Montessori is a great system where they can learn on their own pace and focus on individual goals. Ms.Toni has been working there for over 8 years and she is the best teacher and director!!!! DWM have been amazing all around. We love the staff as they genuinely care about the well being of the kids. My son was attending pre-pandemic and I put him back earlier this year. It was definitely scary sending him back but the staff and director assured me of all the safety measures that they are taking to ensure everyone is safe and healthy. They have been increasing the number of teachers in the classroom, which made me feel much more comfortable with leaving my son there while I'm at work. My daughter had been in this school for 3 years. I love their Montessori teaching method and very happy with the turnout. Montessori kids have very good concentration, eye-hand coordination and discipline. The school is very strong at academic preparation for elementary school. When my daughter graduated, her academic level was way above her friends in the other school. Not only knowing the phonics, words, numbers, addition and subtraction, but also reading and writing ( even in cursive!), multiplication and division! I've been taking my baby to Discovery World Montessori since February 2018 when she was just 7 months. She has adapted well, I never have to worry about her because the staff is very loving and caring towards all the children. I am very happy with their service and professionalism as a daycare facility. I would highly recommend Discovery World Montessori to anyone. Discovery World is a lovely preschool! My son learned so many things and made so many friends! We enrolled him in the pre-k class the year before Kindergarten. We felt it would help prepare him for elementary school. Some of the friends he made at Discovery even went on to the same elementary. It was nice to see some friendly faces which helped him get comfortable in Kindergarten! While at Discovery he really enjoyed the math lessons utilizing the montessori materials. He would tell me about the materials he used that day. He even learned to write numbers 1 through 100 - Amazing! I was worried about lunch time, since my son is a very picky eater. They allowed him to bring a lunch from home, but the teachers were kind enough to help him try lunch items he was curious about. And in no time, he was enjoying the same menu with his classmates. He enjoyed some of the lunch dishes so much so that he asks me to recreate them at home. And he learned some table manners too! read more

My children attended Discovery World for over 8 years. School is fantastic. School is very clean. Education is great. My children learned so much from Ms. Marie. She has been so great to my children. She was their teacher for 5 years. My boys are now prepared for their coming years in middle school. My boys will miss Ms. Marie. My son has been attending Discovery World Montessori since he was 20 months old. The teachers there are great at what they do. Ms. Waffa was my son's first teacher. She was terrific at disciplining and getting him comfortable with his new surroundings. His kindergarten teacher, Ms. Cindy, taught him addition, subtraction, and writing composition. His elementary teacher, Ms. Marie, taught him multiplication and division WHEN HE WAS 1st GRADE! He was more advanced than his cousins, a second grader and third grader attending other private schools. Last year at my son's 3rd grade SAT Testing, he achieved scores way above his grade level. His Reading was tested at 5th grade equivalent. His Spelling, Writing, and Social Studies were tested at 8th grade equivalent. His Mathematics and Science were tested at 10th grade equivalent. My son is now in 4th grade. I can hardly wait what he will accomplish this year. The only thing I worry about is finding another school or teacher like Ms. Marie when he moves into sixth grade. Sadly, Discovery World Montessori doesn't offer classes beyond fifth grade. It's hard to find people especially teachers that care and are concerned about teaching the right stuff to develop young minds rather than just spewing out a curriculum. read more

This school and its staff are everything you could ever want for your child! My little cousin recently graduated from here and she was SO sad to leave because she loved her time there so much. She made so many friends and she had wonderful teachers who were both kind and capable of discipline that I really believe helped my little cousin, and her fellow classmates, grow as individuals. She learned how to do many things on her own and take care of herself when it came to everyday tasks. My parents never put me in any preschools or daycares when I was young, so I have to admit that I was skeptical when my cousin first started going there, as I just didn't understand what the point was. But now I can happily state that I got to see how her experience at the school influenced and helped her grow in the best way possible. I could go on and on about the school and its staff but I'll spare you another novel and wrap things up by saying that you, or anyone with young children, would be doing a favor to yourself and to your child by allowing them the opportunity to go to a school like this. read more

Our daughter started at Discovery World as an infant. There has never been a moment from the first day that we questioned or doubted our decision to enroll her. The staff is tremendously caring and nurturing. The academics are phenomenal. She is years ahead of most children her age, largely due to the curriculum at Discovery World. Last but not least Miss Debbie does an incredible job of administering the school. She seems to know each child individually and is always available when needed. Sending our daughter to this school is among the best decisions we've made. Approximately 8 months ago my son was enrolled in Kindercare in Chino Hills (thumbs down to them). I decided to look elsewhere since I noticed he was having issues with his teachers and they lacked in curriculum. It was just play, play, play most of the day. Ever since I enrolled him at this school, I have seen a tremendous improvement with what he has learned. His teachers (Ms Gina and Ms Marianna) are very patient with him. I plan on keeping him there until the 5th grade. I also would like to mention that the Director, Ms Toni is very approachable and helpful. It makes it that much easier taking him there. read more
