I was having issues at my grandson school I started looking for another school I looked at about 5 sites. and one day I stumbled across Diamond Bar Montessori Academy. That was the best stumbled I could have made Ms. Heidi was so pleasant I shared my bad experience with her about other sites including my grandson school. She told me do not worry we are here for you. She assured me that I was making the best decision to enroll my grandson at Diamond Bar Montessori Academy and she was right. My grandson have made an amazing turn for the best. He is not trying to leave the classroom in the past he would He is taking naps and making lots of friends. His social skills are improving alot. PLEASE READ!!!!!!!! Before enrolling your children here, please be aware of what I personally witnessed on July 26, 2026. A parent, Silvana Saeed, was unhappy because a prepackaged vanilla ice cream sandwich did not taste fresh. Although a refund was offered, she declined it and continued causing a disturbance. I have video footage with audio in which her husband can be heard insulting the cashier first, followed by Silvana. The video footage with audio was also provided to the officers who responded to the incident. The situation escalated to the point that police were called twice to restore order and escort them away. Officers also warned her husband that if he returned, he could be arrested for trespassing, which ultimately convinced him to leave. What concerned me most was witnessing this behavior in front of young children. The children did not appear surprised by what was happening, which I found especially troubling. I believe parents deserve to know about incidents like this when deciding where to send their children. read more

We've had our children at this school for 6 years now, and our experience has been consistently positive. Like any toddler, our little one went through phases--some more challenging than others--but the teachers have always been patient, responsive, and attentive to both developmental and emotional needs. The environment is busy but in the best way. It's full of activity, interaction, and energy, and we've found that it's actually helped our child become more social, independent, and confident. We've never had any concerns about safety or supervision; in fact, we've always felt the staff was engaged and communicative, even when the classroom dynamics naturally shifted. This school was great our first yr (last year), but his 2nd year it went all down hill. The school is definitely more quantity (money) over quality. My son's attitude/personality started changing (At his core, he is the sweetest boy and always wants to help so we definitely thought something was off) he was having more tantrums/outburst, never napped... we just chalked it up to normal toddler behavior and him being a ball of energy. But it was constant toddlers shouting around him and taking his things. I had multiple conversations with the teachers, but nothing changed. It's just way too many kids to keep eyes on. The staff looks overwhelmed and i dont blame them, it was a rotating door of teachers. There was a new face every other month and I had no idea what their names were. My son even got stung by a bee and nobody knew, we only knew once we picked him up and he showed us his finger/sting. What if he was allergic? Another parent told us their daughter wandered out of the classroom and none of the teachers noticed. Another room teacher ended up bringing her back in after finding her wandering around. We moved to a private Christian school which is honestly pretty similar pricing -he started napping the first week, calmed down and we haven't seen those outbursts since and was back to being our sweet outgoing boy. There was around 35 kids in his class, it's like herding cattle. How can you focus on a child and their educational/growing needs as a toddler. read more

Ever daycare and school I took her to would not let her go in underwear until she was fully potty trained, which great inconsistencies in our potty training routine. When I took my child to this school, they encouraged me to bring my child to school in regular underwear and she was fully potty trained in 1 week. I am so grateful to the staff here. read more

Diamond Bar Montessori Academy has been a blessing to my 3 girls. They love coming here because there are so many fun hands on activities. I don't enjoy writing bad reviews, but I thought about this and thought this school and others need to know. My kiddos already went to another school two days a week and I needed to put the kids into a school full time temporarily and their current school didn't have space. My kids are pretty adaptable because I put them in a lot of different programs etc etc (don't worry I know they aren't perfect). I myself am a teacher and have thought about homeschool in the future, but want them to have fun and play for the time being, as I don't want to buy all the amazing toddler toy stuff and clean up the mess let's leave all the fun sensory stuff and clean up at school ANYWAYS, Heidi is the school director and you will do the a virtual tour with her, cause of COVID. I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN from the virtual tour... she was almost 20 min late and NO notification, AND I had to reach out and ask if the tour...BUT I gave them a chance because she apologized after I reached out. I'll try to keep this long story short but... details is of the upmost important in this review here, so I'll list them out - as earlier stated I had to reach out for the scheduled virtual tour - after I registered for the school, I had to ask what the kids needed to prepare for school - I had to ask them what the schedule was for the kids - I had to ask them for the lunch menu - I had to ask them who their teacher was - I had to ask MULTIPLE times for their class reminder app - I had to ask what the kid's teacher name was... like WHAT?? I didn't even know their names, after a FULL week and a HALF of school NO ONE told me what their teacher names were -___- - NO visibility as to what the kids were doing each day... - My kids didn't like the school but they were still reluctant but willing to go - They weren't even sure who their teacher was - After I asked for newsletters, I was given.. all classes schedules..? Like why do I need to know what other people are doing looked super complicated and feels lazy... Now some context, I am a teacher myself. I provide weekly newsletters for families, email contact, pictures, facebook group for pictures of what the kids were doing in class and our fun activities (I found that most parents were on facebook and we didn't have Brightwheel at that time), the school would send out weekly menus, etc. etc. All to say the SCHOOL and TEACHER was PROACTIVE in, involving the parents, keeping them updated and showing transparency of what the kids were doing each day. Now I'm not one of those helicopter parents... but not even knowing who their teachers were... is kind of... bizarre and ridiculous.. right?!?! OVERALL, this school is SOOOOO disorganized. I feel like they were just selling me on how amazing they were, playing outside, there's a garden, they will be more independent, they will learn science, history, Chinese, Spanish, sports, dance, computer, etc... but did they follow through.. maybe... idk.. WHO KNOWS. Everything seems like a mystery and I got tired of making sure if they had the right materials, if they needed dance shoes, what did they need to bring.... Etc... WHY DO I NEED TO ASK... Shouldn't you be telling me...? I mean... I'm paying YOU - this AIN'T FREE!!! In addition, the school knew that I was just "trying it out" I told them this was going to be a trial for a month... they told me the uniform was mandatory, fine I bought it no problem, but when I told them that the sizes I needed were "out of stock" they said that they had some extra at school. Only to find out, some people didn't seem to have to wear uniforms AND they had these extra ones (donated from parents) for free... now... why wouldn't you offer those to someone who you knew was testing out the school OR at the very least, not make uniforms mandatory when people clearly were not wearing them... I can't express enough disappointment at this school. I really wanted to like it, as I attended a Montessori as a kid and really enjoyed it, but this school is A MESS!!!! In a sense I thought it was just me, but I spoke with another parent recently that goes to this school and she expressed the SAME disappointments. SO ANYHOOZ, I thought I should do my due diligence and warn future parents or at the very least empathize with them. The other school they go to, give me MORE information than I need... lol. This is organization, transparency, and showing that you really care about involving the parents in your kiddos lives. I get daily updates, reminders, pictures, even parent education nights... its a 180 compared to this "school". Seems more like a sales pitch school, with no follow through. My daughter has attended DBMA for two years, she has grown a lot academically and socially from the caring environment provided by the loving teachers and staff. The enrichment programs offer ballet, hip hop, languages, soccer programs, etc. Special thanks go to Ms. Hedi, the director who oversees and manages the school in many aspects to keep every students safe and happy. My daughter loves her teachers, Ms. Laura and Ms. Hala, who have been an important supporting network for the working parents. We are also thankful for the graduation program this year in the playground arranged by the efforts of the staff, all the parents witness the growth and development of their children. Unfortunately, I do not recommend sending your child to this daycare. My child attended this daycare for a very short time. My experience: -facility is very unorganized anytime I called or emailed the Director always mixed me up with other parents. She once sent me another parent's information. - my child was always sick when he attended this daycare. I thought it was normal because it was his first time going to daycare and he needed to boost his immune system. However, when I took him to the doctors, they said it was not normal that he was sick every week. I took there advise and switched daycares. Sure enough he was not getting sick from his new day care. -The teachers are ALWAYS changing and they don't even notify you when changes are made. -Upon picking my son up from daycare his face was always dirty and even though his diaper was empty I can tell they didn't wipe his butt. -The class sizes are huge!!! They have no cape on how many children they put in one classroom. I believe while my son was there his class size got up to 30 children for 2 teachers. That is NOT ok. Once I switched his daycare the cape was 12 children for 2 teachers. It seems this daycare only cares about money. Do yourself a favor and find a better daycare for your baby. read more

My kid is a three-year-old bilingual girl. She barely spoke any English when she first started attending the Diamond Bar Montessori Academy, however, she is comfortable with talking with teachers and friends in English now by 5 months' study. I really appreciate all her teachers; I could tell they are patient and helpful. In addition, school activities are incredibly inspiring for kids to engage and learn through play. I actually disliked Diamond bar Montessori when we first started attending. I thought that they were a bit disorganized. Newsletters and menus and notices were given late or not posted at all sometimes. I did like the remind app because you are able to communicate with the head teacher directly and she usually responded as soon as she could. However I never knew my daughters teachers and they changed a couple times in the 10 months my daughter was in the infant/toddler class. I felt like i wanted to know more of what was happening during the day, if they were learning things and who baby's teachers were but i'm also a first time mom with this being first time experience at daycare. my daughter loved Ms Arlene. Baby cant speak but i could tell she really enjoyed going to Diamond Bar Montessori. I felt the teacher turnover was on the higher side but some of them seemed really nice. I attended mothers and fathers day celebration and the spring performance and it was nice. They do a good job at documenting day in terms of nap, food and diapers and give you a paper when you check baby out. This school helped my baby acclimate to life outside the home well and though i wanted to know more about what was happening in their day to day i know that baby was happy and taken care of. read more

I don't like the school because the class is too big and no body really takes care of my daughter, every day when I pick her up she is super thirsty and tired. I think she didn't drink enough water because they doesn't allow to bring water bottles. My son was in this preschool 4 months ago. At beginning, he was in 1 years old class, everything is great. After he went to 2 years class, thing getting worse. We received daily report with a lot of negative words. Meanwhile,They are expanding class size in very short time. One day, school president comes to me and ask my son comes in half day schedule, because they are too busy to take care of him. She even mention he has behavior issues , should bring him to see doctor.(This judgement is been proved 100% wrong by doctor. After I send him to new preschool, the new school teachers are very shocked with this judgment , they all feel he is very smart and active after spending 4 months with him). I refuse to do it because me and my husband are full time employees. After that, they keep calling us to pick him up early for the whole month. It is really heavy burden for my family, we decide to drop the class. I recently hear from other parents said her kid has been neglecting, and good teachers keep leaving this school. I think school mangers treat those kids as money generation machine, they don't care about kid's happiness and health. The most important thing for them is maximizing the profit from each kid, and they keep calculating ROI for taking care kid - kicking out kids who need more energy. This is a fantastic school and I can't say enough great things about it. My son attended this school for about a year before he went to TK and I wish I enrolled him earlier. My daughter still attends and she is going on her third year. The teachers are amazing. From what I've seen, all the kids are treated fairly and lovingly. As far as the administration, I have no complaints. Heidi and Suzy go above and beyond. I frequently see children run up to their office for hugs and stickers. Heidi, especially, has really stepped up to the plate as the new director. There are, of course, some growing pains with every transition but Heidi has handled it with ease. I also wanted to add that from what I've been told, the field trips are decided by the owners of the facility to coincide with other schools. Ms. Heidi doesn't control the locations. An amazing school for children of all ages. The staff and teachers here are so caring about all the children. The infant room has taken such great care of my babies and now my oldest has moved up and he is loving being a big boy in his two year old classroom! They keep us updated of how they do throughout their day with the app they use, inform me about the meals they eat etc. when ever there's incidences or my children are feeling sick they notify me right away. I'm giving a 5! I want to start by staying everything and everyone isn't perfect. Everyone has their own experiences and I will share mine! My daughter has been attending for two years now. She adapted very well when she first started which is always something parents look for. Teachers are on top of the students from homework (what they get from what they've learned) to the patterns of their behaviors and can give a day to day recap of your child's day! Academics: they go at the pace of the child! My daughter comes home telling me about different counties she's learned or randomly speaking in Spanish or Chinese! Life experience like responsibility and washing her own dishes and cleaning afterself without being told! Using her brain and strategize if something didn't work one way to try a different way. The list goes on. She's 4 and knows a lot more than I did when I was younger! Yes there's a lot of children in the class but there are well enough TEACHERS that have their own group! Activities: this school goes above and beyond with all the activities! My daughter looks forward to Ballet every Monday and dance! There's extravagant concerts twice a year with custom everything and it's just amazing! Graduation is more like a production that you can tell took a lot of time,money, and effort! Summer camp theme every year is different with loads of visitors and field trips! Staff! My only issue is change some come and go and kids get attached and then communication. There's a lot of new staff but in life and as the world evolves there will ALWAYS be change and it's a good way to teach our children to adapt. Yea I believe in consistency but this should be instilled at home to prepare for the real world! I would recommend this school! I am really baffled by the bad reviews simply because we parents often forget to realize what it takes and how much effort they put into our children in to making it a wonderful learning experience for them. We only choose to nitpick on what's going wrong and not seeing the sweat it takes to continue the greatness! Our 2 year old started at DBMA two weeks ago and we couldn't be happier. The program is absolutely amazing. The children start their day off with yoga or Zumba and some outside play time then straight into the classroom room for Montessori activities. So far my daughter is learning (to name only a few) her ABCs, how to us scissors and how to properly socialize with other children. Last week they held their Spring Science Fair where they treated families to a spaghetti dinner so each classroom could show off their current science projects. Every after noon the kids participate in an Enrichment program... ballet, soccer, hip hop, vocal classes. Our daughter especially likes hip hop. The facility is very clean and looks practically new. The classrooms are large and has the kids work displayed through out the classroom. Outside are great playgrounds that are separated based on the kids age. They even have a vegetable garden. A special thank you to Ms. Tanya for continuing to help ease our daughter into school. She makes our daughter feel like her own. Without her drop offs would be even more difficult. This school was one of the best in the area. BEWARE of the management change. Ever since Director Karla left in 2018, this school went downhill. The new director Heidi is a sales woman at best who only smiles when she takes new parents to tours. The field trips were downgraded to movie theatres instead of zoos or science museums. The semi-annual student shows used to be a highlight, now a mediocre but mandatory task. If you think that management doesn't matter like what we did, think again. Even though the teachers are still great, under a bad management the programs they are offering is much less academic and more rule-following. Kids who do play quietly by themselves get rewarded. Others get bored for lack of challenges. Homework is the same tracing letters and numbers day after day. No science experiment, fun crafts, nor art classes, the computers there are rarely used but more for the show. A girl in my daughter's class often got punished for "talking too much", and the punishment was to take away her favorite snack. That's not what the school is known for anymore. Director Heidi takes her grown kids to school and takes the handicap parking lot without a permit. In the past few months, we slowly observed her behavior difference against Chinese parents, especially those who do not speak English well. Those parents were last in line to get talked to, often ignored, treated borderline rudely. Their suggestions, if any, got thrown away as soon as they left the office. Occasionally, there are signs written in Chinese only posted on the door (I don't see it in Japanese, Spanish, nor Korean), warning Chinese parents that they must leave the playground immediately after they pick up their kids. Over the years I've seen many parents of all race taking the kids for a few rounds of sliding before leaving, I don't see anything wrong about that, nor do I think it should be specifically "warned" in just one language. I once witnessed that two kids making the same "mistake" (running and screaming), and only the Chinese kid got blamed. I strongly urge Chinese parents to stay away from this place. read more

My daughter has been a student of DBMA for almost 2 years now and couldn't be happier how much she loves being here. She learned how to count in Spanish and in Mandarin when she was in the toddler room. Now being in the 2 year old room, she knows how to clean up after meals/snacks and is currently learning ballet. I had my daughter in this school when she was 2. I tolerated with the number of kids in the classroom which was about 40 students at that time. Luckily my daughter was only attending 3 days a week since she does not like it. When she turned 3 they moved her to another classroom with the transition of new teachers, new director and this time 5 days a week. I was told by her teachers and director my daughter has issued, so I got her assess through the school district and was informed by the school district my daughter is above average. When the school district did the school observation and asked the teacher why do you think she has issued they said she screamed and what happened after the other kids starting laughing so not sure why that is an issue to the school, another scenario when they said my kid likes to wander instead of doing their job based on the observation, there were no teachers attending to her after she completed her job hence the wander off. So my tips for the school, please get your teachers properly train to handle preschooler since this is where the kids form their foundation. And it is great you have good curriculum but not if the kids are not understanding any of it. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCHOOL IF YOU LOVE YOUR KID AT ALL. This school was great a few years ago with great teachers, the new management team is full of money-hungry business people that only care about how much they can squeeze out of each and every kids. 1) No academics, you can't find the so-called Montessori eduction here, the only quality teachers left the school. For some classes, say Chinese class was taught by a Chinese speaking student who's 5 year old. 2) The push to maximize profit from owner. The owner has been pushing the teachers to get as much students per teacher as possible. More than 10 teachers have left in the last few months. Why do you think that's the case? 3) Inner-circles. If your kid performs at the semi-annual event, good luck getting front row seats. You will have to be close to the director to get good seats. Yikes. 4) Overcharged school photos and performance. This school was wonderful for my family. My son started in Ms. Susan's class at 19 months. When I saw the kids in the class I was amazed at how independent they were. I was worried he would come home hungry, but instead he learned how to eat better w/ his utensils. Ms.Susan really loves on her little ones and they her. My son learned his numbers, colors, alphabet, solar system, continents, proper use of scissors, basic life skills, and potty trained in her class (in less than a week!). The next year in Ms. Flavia's class he continued to thrive; learning his numbers to 100, writing and the sounds for the alphabet, and continuing to progress. By the time he was w/ Ms. Carlotta and Ms. Veronica, he enjoyed being one of the "big kids." It's amazing the reading comprehension they do, how he could sound out 3 letter words, do basic addition, the fun assignments he would occasionally have to do (like decorating a life size silhouette of himself to represent his background and family). The director Ms. Karla is a treasure too. She knows each of the families, what's going on with them, and is willing to be flexible with what a family needs. We haven't been able to find anywhere else that was so accommodating. We really liked how snacks and hot lunch are included if you're enrolled for the full school day. If we hadn't moved, we would still be a DBMA family. Check them out, you'll find a loving, educational and caring environment. read more

We had a rocky start for the first 6 months and I almost changed my daughter to a different school. After a turning point meeting with school director at the time, Ms. Karla, and her room 2 teachers, Ms. Susan and Ms. Savanna, she went on adjusting very well, learning all kinds of things we didn't teach at home, and moving to room 3 and room 4 without issues despite of my worries. Before moving up to a class, school would arrange a few hours a week leading up to the transition. Usually they move several kids at the same time and the new teachers are familiar-ish because they sometimes substitute other classrooms. I know all her regular teachers pretty well and learn who my child likes the most. Ms. Laura, Ms. Ana, Ms. Flavia, Ms. Jackie, Ms. Nicole were the primary teachers in room 3 when my daughter was there. Now Ms. Letty, Ms. Ashley, Ms. Ria, Ms. Paloma are the room 4 teachers. For the most part, these two rooms are pretty similar. There are enriched programs daily, but I can tell that my daughter likes dance related classes the most because she would talk about it. Each room has daily schedule to follow and school provides meals and snacks (though my picky child barely eats anything) There are individual 'jobs' they do and weekly homework to work on. Every now and then I would notice new words, phrases, habits that my child picks up from school that's not taught by home, and makes me smile. Some I know took extra efforts on teachers' part. She learned to say no and pushed back when someone was mean to her, something I couldn't provide had I been a stayed home mom or had she been under the care of a family member. The school concerts they hold twice a year is quite special. When my daughter performed on stage for the first time, I just knew how much she loved it and from then we decided we didn't want her to miss another. She was proud and I was proud. You can see most students were proud. The last performance though, the Disney theme, may have been a little lacking because some of the songs the children would just wave their hands the whole entire song. I have yet to mention anything to school, but my guess would be due to some teachers leaving the school. This brings to my next point. Though room 3 and room 4 have had relatively steady staff, I would say room 2 (and I heard room 6) have pretty high turnover rate. Anyone who has a job knows that can't be good. I do hope that's something the owner will recognize and address quickly. At the end of the day, DBMA is a place where I send my child to a real world with some decent protective bubble. It is by no means the same as leaving your child to grandma or a relative's house. You have to know there will be tons of other students with different personalities. All under the watch of 2-5 teachers (all day long). We have received probably 4-5 ouch reports since we attended here, some made me upset enough to bring up to the director, some I could just tell is pure accidents and could easily happen under my watch as well. But almost always, if I say something, the issue subsided. So I do think they take feedbacks serious enough. School requires students to wear uniform. I do have to say I have a love hate relationship with this rule. While I am perfectly okay with the concept, I don't care for girls have to wear skirts and the winter sweater is thin as cupboard. The materials of the uniforms are also less than ideal, scratchy and get dirty easily. I do appreciate not having to worry what to put on my child, and my child has a sense of school routine when she puts the uniform on. Children don't require to wear uniforms during summer, so it gives my daughter some fun to decide what to wear everyday. School also has extra activities during summer - water day, bounce house, guests, and field trips that children seem to enjoy which give me a chance to get to know teachers and other students as well. There is definitely room for improvement and I can see that DBMA is getting more 'business focused'. However, I do notice they add shades in the playgrounds and hire terminators when ants start to surface in classrooms. Signs are posted when they see suspicious people in school. Above of it all, besides safety which has to be the highest priority, as long as I see a smile on my child's face when I pick her up, I know she was safe and happy. And that's all that matters. Half of the time nowadays when I picked her up from school, she was so focused on school work/craft/play, she didn't even want to leave. It makes me happy in a way. Everyday my daughter says goodbye to her teachers, Ms Hedi (the current director) and Ms. Suzy from the front office when we leave. She always say it with enthusiasm. At the end of the day, I just want to see a happy child and I can tell she enjoys learning at school, too. As long as that remains the case, I am a happy Mama. read more

Ever since my daughter attended dbma, I've seen such a positive change in her social behavior and noticed she has learned quite a bit academically. In just a few months my 3 year old is able to read. I'm very glad we made the decision to have her enrolled in dbma. The teachers and staff have always been very knowledgeable on my child's development whenever we ask about her progress. They are very approachable and open to suggestions. We are also happy that the enrichment program and lunch is included in the tuition. read more

My two children attended this school for 2 years. The facility is beautiful, uniforms are cute and enrichment programs offered are great. However, dont let all that fool you. One of the many issues we had was with the Director Ms. Karla. My husband and I reached out to the owner to report her behavior with specific dates and times of SEVERAL incidents that occurred and still have never received a response. Also, the classrooms are filled with 45 to 50 kids. Go take a tour and you will see what I'm talking about. My kids now go to a new private school and they will not let the class size exceed 19 students with TWO TEACHERS not helpers/babysitters. read more
