Bollywood posters adorn the wall with paper placemat menus and large paintings on the bathroom doors (and opposite the urinal) in this funky Indian restaurant. Beyond that it is a fairly standard affair. We got the Chicken Makhani (butter chicken) which was quite tasty and more-ish. Then we had the Tilapia Hariyali which I didn't enjoy at all, it tasted watered down and lacked any interesting flavours (that said my 2 year old ended up eating a lot of it!). We got the Garlic & Chili Naan and Pashwari naan, they were good (I haven't met a naan I don't like) but at the same time they were a bit lifeless (I really don't think I tasted any chili in the Garlic & Chili...). Service was pretty good, it was easy to get someone's attention and everyone was friendly. Overall, the atmosphere is nice, food average and price is meh (I always feel a bit hard done by when 1/3 of the bill is for bread and rice).

As far as the menu is concerned, there seemed to be a decent balance of well-known "classics" and obscure dishes. But you should definitely go for the later if you're looking for something traditional as the classics seem to be "adapted" quite a bit (and as a result, aren't quite spicy enough). For more detail about what we tried: https://cakeandwhisky.wordpress.com/2015/05/19/delhi-grill-indian-restaurant

We were there early on a Saturday night (before a barnstorning gig by Frank Turner at the Roundhouse in Camden) so the place was empty bar one other couple. However, we were greeted warmly and enjoyed a very tasty, freshly cooked grill plate to share (lamb chops, koftas and chicken tikka) plus raita, a cucumber, onion and red pepper salad, lamb samosa, naan bread and poppadum to add extra crispiness. Everything was hot and tasty and we left feeling well set up for a night of dancing, singing-along and general merriment.

Ended my last night in London on a high note! Still buzzing after eating at Delhi Grill. Super cozy and such a cute place. Staff were friendly and very knowledgeable about the ingredients of each menu item. Menu items are clearly labeled for both vegans and vegetarians. There are also a few vegan items that do not contain any nuts. My dining partner and I also ordered vegetable samosas which were smaller than the ones I've had before, but nonetheless still delicious. We were happy with the portion sizes of the other dishes but please keep in mind that main dishes do not come with rice and there is no house chutney, poppadom, or naan so you will need to order it separately if you want these items. Nut friendly/vegan chutney include puréed beets; chickpeas; and onion. Other items in chutney rack are mango based with nuts and yogurt based non-vegan. The waiter told me that the naan dough may have nuts in them so please proceed with caution if you have an allergy. Thanks for a delightful evening, Delhi Grill. We will be back!

Haven't had such good Indian food in a while. The restaurant is nicely decorated with Bollywood posters! Place was very clean and nicely set up. Our waiter was very nice. We had 2 toddlers with us and while waiting for food he gave them some chips.

INSIDE Spacious, clean, and plenty of seating both upstairs and down. MENU For larger parties, they recommend their prefix menu which includes a various sampling of lots of delicious items. FOOD 10/10 I haven't eaten Indian food much, but was thoroughly impressed. From my mango lassi which was perfectly sweetened and tart to buttered buns, fried okra, black Dahl, garlic naan, and lamb skewers, everything was delicious. I esp loved the lamb skewers! We ordered a side of garlic naan with cheese which is basically a quesadilla and it was super cheesy and delicious as well. OVERALL Would def recommend Dishoom when visiting London. It'll definitely be a hit in your books!

The food was exceptional -- aroma, flavors, spice levels, portions; everything was perfect. While visiting London, a local friend invited me to Dishoom, knowing how much I love Indian cuisine. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon around 5PM, and the place was already packed. They don't take reservations for dinner unless you're a large group, but trust me, the wait is worth it. They have a fantastic bar where you can grab drinks while you wait for a table (they give you buzzers). I tried the Negroni and another tequila-based cocktail (sadly I can't remember the name), and both were phenomenal. Shared plates are definitely the way to go at Dishoom. We ordered the gunpowder potatoes (incredible), an appetizer with potatoes and pineapple (not my favorite; the pineapple threw me off), monkfish curry (amazing), and chicken curry. It was a lot of food for just two of us, but I couldn't stop eating. I seriously wanted to bottle up that sauce! The service was surprisingly impeccable, especially considering how busy they were. We ended up spending about £110 for an incredible dinner, and we nearly couldn't finish everything. Lastly, the ambiance! Inspired by Iranian cafes in India, the atmosphere at Dishoom is eclectic. I loved the dim lighting, unique decor, and the lively pace of the restaurant. Just go!

This time we made reservations here via The Fork app since there was an 30% discount offer. We ordered the onion bhaji (starter), lamb hari mirch (entree), lasooni paneer chicken (entree), butter naan, and jeera rice. We enjoyed our entrees a lot and they were generous with the meat. The jeera rice was OK for me and I would probably stick with regular plain basmati rice. Overall, I definitely recommend this Indian restaurant if you are around the Saint Pancras area.

Went in a Thursday and grabbed a 7:30 reservation. Definitely get a reservation! The place is fairly small and was packed inside and out. Those without a reservation had about an hour wait until things opened up around 8:30. We chose the Lamb Biryani, chicken korma and garlic naan. It was all so good! Biryani was a bit spicy but served with a yogurt sauce to soften the flavors. The korma was delicious and was a perfect item to balance the biryani. The naan was cooked perfectly. I only wish we had orders an extra side of steamed rice to not let any of the korma sauce go uneaten! We opted for dessert and tried the gulab jamun which was the perfect way to end the meal. This spot is an absolute gem with delicious food and exceptional service.

As soon as you walk in, they offer to hang your coat. The young lady who was our server for the evening gave us the best recommendations--I wish I knew her name. She was so patient with our many questions and didn't steer us wrong. My friends and I started with the wings as an appetizer. They had the perfect amount of grill flavor and were very saucy and well seasoned. There was no classy way to eat them--they were that good. For our entrées, we ordered the goat shoulder and the half rack of lamb chops. The half rack is more than enough for one person, especially with naan and rice. The reviewers were not lying when they said you must try the lamb chops. They came out sizzling, and we laughed because it took us back to dining at Chili's (iykyk). Perfectly seasoned and incredibly tender. The same goes for the goat shoulder. This was my first time trying it, and I was very impressed with how good it tasted. While I'm not usually a dessert person, you must try the carrot pastry. Think of it like a McDonald's apple pie (the old-school one), but with warm carrot filling on the inside and a sprinkle of pistachio on the outside--just 10x better. Everything here tasted spectacular, including the chili naan. Can't wait to come back and try more dishes.
