Stayed 3 nights in January. Very clean, well maintained resort. Trash pick up is offered every day if you don't want to walk to the dumpsters. Laundry facilities were also nice and clean. We enjoyed the spa and heated pool especially after a day of hiking. Close proximity to Montezuma's castle, Red Rock State park, Sedona, Cathedral rock. Sites were paved and are nice and wide but a bit close to your neighbor in the back. Picnic table at each site. Propane fires only. Trees were small so not much shade in warmer weather. No playground area for the kids but there is an enclosed dog park. A terrific deal for $40 a night. read more

The park is well kept and clean, however..it took 25 minutes to check in due to the slowest desk person ever as we slowly went over the rules 1 by 1 while the manager lurked around the lobby keeping an eye on me, perhaps she thought I would steal something. I parked a utility trailer in a parking area meant for that purpose but not before all the rules were read to me about that parking area by the golf cart guy. We finally parked and decided to wash a load of clothes at the parks laundromat which is very nice by the way. I put our Jack Russell in the dog park (40 feet away from the laundromat) for less than 2 minutes while I carried the clothes in for my wife, here comes another golf cart guy explaining the rules of the dog park that I violated. After the dog park we go back to the RV and as soon as we sit down the phone rings and it's (Speedy) from the front desk explaining the rules prohibiting parking your vehicle in someone else's spot. I explained I haven't parked in anyone's spot and she says "Oh, ok sorry". I'm a 60 year old retired cop and always respect the property of others while visiting as well as abide the rules, so I was a little put off by the 'kindergarten treatment' from these people. There are way to many RV parks out there to put up with this nonsense. read more

I stayed at this RV park for a month and I have to say the facilities are kept up great, The employees for the most part are very nice and accommodating, and most of the people staying there are quiet adults and nice. The park though has two flaws.... #1 little to no spots with any shade at all, and #2 if you park in the spot allotted next to your camper you have almost no room to sit outside. I will say, you are allowed to park in scattered guest parking spots but it's a pain in the neck to do that all of the time. The wind whips up suddenly in this area. Like in mere seconds ... from 0-50 mph gusts. Because of that, it is often not possible to extend your awning safely. If you can't extend your awning, and the spots have no shade, you are pretty much stuck inside your RV unless you want to sit out in the searing AZ sunshine. 5 stars if it had wider sites and some shade. Overall we loved the place and would like to return, but those two factors are big problems for us. Some sites are better than others in terms of shade and space, but none of them are great. It's probably not possible for them to do anything about those downsides at this point as most of the park is cement, but I wish they would figure out some kind of solution. If you want some breathing room and possible shade, I suggest you try a gravel site vs cement. They seems to be a bit roomier and sometimes have a little shade. read more

If you can't get into Sedona campground, this was pretty great. Clean, safe, nice pool, hard-working maintenance crew keep grounds very tidy. More "upscale" than most RV places we saw. Weren't thrilled to have interior site with close spots, but in retrospect and after seeing other surrounding parks, we felt this was one of the best. Very clean laundry facilities, fitness room, library, enclosed dog park, small additional pet areas, private shower rooms. Great place for families & kids. Store was small but plenty of various supplies. Great staff even escorts you to your spot. read more

I downgraded from 5 stars because I need at least basic wifi and the wifi was down 3 of the 6 nights we were here. The staff was exceptional helpful during check in and were available to purchase propane and fill my tank upon arrival. An employee accompanied us to our lot and helped in positioning our motorhome. They are very pet friendly and the entire park is spotless, with no debris or litter or weeds. The cable has many channels. Verizon cell phones have only 1 or 2 bars but do work here. Extremely easy access from I-17. The laundry and bath/showers are also spotless and all machines were in working order. We will stay here whenever in this area. It is owned and maintained by the Apache Nation. read more

This is one of the loveliest and most well-equipped RV resorts we have ever stayed in. The employees are charming and helpful, the accommodations are everything anyone staying in a fine hotel could ask for. Very affordable... Almost anywhere else it would be $60 a night or more. The location is close to many national parks and monuments, a wildlife park, Sedona, and the list goes on. They even threw a Super Bowl party for all of us in the camp And are planning one for Valentine's Day. I would recommend this place over almost anywhere else I have ever been. Slight freeway noise but easily overlooked with all the extras this please provides. read more

This resort consist of level paved and/or gravel spaces. It has nice, clean shower facilities, exercise room, library and community room. It has a large pet area and outside sitting areas. It is in the desert and the surroundings are desert appearance but the park is very good. It is across the highway from a casino and they offer shuttle service to and from. It is conveniently located with an easy drive to Sedona, Cottonwood, Jerome and other points of interest. Rates are very reasonable and the staff is friendly , knowledgeable and helpful. read more

Great choice for RVers! Close by to tour the area -Montezuma's Castle, Sedona, historic Jerome/Haynes ghost town, Cottonwood, Prescott and more. Lots of restaurants nearby, and food trucks that come to the RV Park several nights per week, if you don't feel like cooking. This park is very well maintained, with level concrete pads and trimmed greenery. Lots of amenities including a pool and spa, workout room, laundry room, shower/bathrooms, and dog park, to name a few. The staff members were very helpful and friendly. And very reasonably priced! We stay here every single time , we drive all the way from Tucson , but definitely worth the drive to stay at a nice safe quiet rv park. You get shuttles to the casino 24 hours , you walk in the office and they always have a smile and never hesitate to help you . What a great place to spend a couple of weeks (or longer). Would have given this an outright 5 stars if the site had been a little bit bigger. The park is very well maintained with concrete pad/patio combos. The staff is very helpful with many smiles - a real treat! Good grief, they even pick up your trash everyday. Plenty of greenery for an eye appealing setting. No big tall trees to try to maneuver around or block satellite reception. Close to many attractions including Montezuma's Castle and Sedona/Flagstaff. Shuttle service is provided for the nearby Cliff Castle Casino which has an amazing restaurant - The Storyteller. We'll be back for sure. read more

Very nice park. Friendly staff, clean grounds. We are only here for two nights but have been impressed with the pool, hot tub, and private showers, the cleanliness of the grounds, and the friendly staff. They guided us to our site and helped us back in. The site is wide enough for us to park our large truck right next to our fiver. This is great!! Also enjoy the dog run, bonus points for the dog run! Would get much higher rating if their wifi was set up to work with more than one device and was actually fast. We can't get any online work done here, which makes it so we wish we were parked elsewhere. Otherwise it's a nice place to park... A bit of highway noise prevents us from leaving windows open at night when we'd rather be sleeping. Hot tub was a bonus... And I haven't seen a single kid around, which means adults can actually enjoy the pool and hot tub! read more

Very clean park -- BUT TOO MANY RULES!! If your unit is over 10 yrs old you must have it inspected to see if it qualifies to be accepted into this park. Then you can't swim or hot tub after 8pm. You can't shower before 6am. WONT BE BACK!!! read more

The park is immaculate, nice pull thru sites long enough to accommodate our 60' requirement. The staff is helpful and friendly.

Park is very clean and nice however they need to relax some of their rules. No one under the age of 18 can use the hot tub, no one under 18 can use the work out room even under supervision of adults. The office opens at 8 and all facilities close at 7:45pm. At would be nice to have a picnic table available at the sites to eat at or sit at. Dog park is very nice, limited shade for animals and when we were there, stones were very hot on animals feet. read more

Beautiful rv park! Great staff. Spots are spacious. Location is right off highway and convenient for sight seeing. Have stayed here 3 times for more than a 1-night stary and would stay again. We have gone here on our own and with our RV group. This is the first rv resort we stayed at after purchasing our 5th wheel trailer. Great staff and management. We had a group of 7 families that had just dealt with issues at another rv park that mishandled our reservation, the distant drums staff was amazing and did everything they could to make up for the frustrating experience we had. They accommodated our whole group and set us all up close to each other. We were supposed to celebrate a birthday for one of the families kids at another rv park, well let's just say the other rv park overbooked and wouldn't accommodate us so we turned to distant drums and they were more then amazing. They let us use the Rec room (which was great) and we were able to give a young girl turning 6 an amazing In N Out themed birthday party. The management even brought her a birthday present! Would highly recommend this resort to anyone staying in the area. They have a great pool and Rec room has ping pong, foos ball, a poker table and a huge tv with access to apps and movies. read more

Nice and clean. Big property. Not expensive- $26 per night with electricity and water hook up. Dump available if you want. Lot is small and right next to your neighbour but most people are so quiet I hardly hear them at all. Few kids- mainly adults and quiet ones who keep to them selves. I like that you have a pool, shower at the main lodge and tables and chairs to hang out of you like. There is also a gym although small and modest. There is a shuttle that takes you to the nearby casino if you want- there is gambling and restaurant choices there at the casino if you don't gamble. Dog area available. Down side is it is very near the freeway so you can hear the traffic. Doesn't bother me too much. It's overall very quiet at night except for the occasional car. I like it that it is so accessible. read more

Worse experience ever! Would never come back here even if it were free. We have been camping for 6 weeks, and have never run into anything as bad as this. AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU LIKE PEACE AND QUIET. They have power washers coming to clean trailers and it takes an hour or more per trailer. We couldn't talk over the racket. Great resort.. The workers here are super.. Nice conceit spots all with picnic tables. Fenced dog run. Close to I17 so a little traffic noise. Large clean showers. Nice laundry room. Nice Gym & Library.. Escorts & back in help.. The outside workers pick up your garbage.. They have a great activity room and share meals with the park guest once or twice a month..Free popcorn & Coffee in the lobby. Wi-Fi is good. Cable is ok.. My husband and I are first time travel trailer campers for our Arizona trip. Distant Drums was our last resort we would be stopping by before our trip back to San Diego. The place was extremely well kept and clean. A bit of a senior based demographic but it made it extremely quiet and peaceful at night- which I love. The staff was friendly, we even pulled in at 9:30am and they still let us check in despite it being so early. Montezuma Castle is literally down the road which is definitely worth checking out, and the casino was always an option if my husband and I got bored-which we didnt. Sedona is a quick 30 minute trip up and on the way back was the Animal Safari Park. Needless to say everything is very close. Maybe its an Arizona thing,but none of our campsites had firepits. Distant Drums have very open pull thrus and also they have deluxe back ins. We'd definitely come back if we were in the Arizona area again. read more

We have traveled all over the country and this is, by far, the worst place we've stayed. It looks like it would be wonderful... cement pads, etc. But don't be fooled! All of the pads are so uneven that wheels have to be off the ground to get the coach level. The staff is the rudest we have run across in all of our travels. There is a huge lighted sign that flashes over the entire park, requiring extra window coverings to sleep. The sites are difficult to get in for 5th wheels (but may be OK for coaches). The showers have only cold water. The hot tub is luke warm. The nearby roads are noisy. And it's on the expensive side! But this would have had a slightly higher rating if the staff had not been so extremely rude. They really need to train their workcampers that they are there because of the customer, not the other way around. read more
