After waiting months and months due to screw up after screw up, I finally got my order and it was still WRONG. At one point, they had even tried to pass off the wrong order, hoping that I would just accept it. They had no memory of what my order even was supposed to be. And never tried to make it right as promised. Made promises, then didn't keep them. This is a rinky dink little operation that has a bunch of clowns. Like something out of the Three Stooges. And the old bat at the front desk with the glasses is especially ignorant and narrow minded. She reminds me of "Church Lady" from old Saturday Night Live. If they had any customer service skills, they would have tried to make it right for me. But instead "Church Lady" told the sisters not to try to help make my order right and instead told ME to leave, like I did something wrong for asking my order to be right. She is not a nice person. A repressed old B#ch who probably has looked and acted like an old lady since she was 10 years old. Watch out for her evil eye, it will turn you to stone. It's people like her that make businesses fail because they have no regard whatsoever for the customer. I pity this business because they are going to lose a whole lotta customers due to the rotten to the core "Church Lady" and their screw ups on orders. My safety glasses are unsafe, have a huge gap between the lenses and side safety shields. The safety shields are not flush and are not OSHA safe by any means. This business full of small town dimwits haven't a clue on how to make frames or give good customer service. Save yourself the aggravation and go anywhere but here. They are not professionals, but like something out of the twilight zone. Freakish and so not worth the money. read more

From there I was guided through a series of eye exams that are right for me, what contacts I need and glasses I that would be just right for me by a friendly and professional Gal by the name of Elizabeth. she helped me all around the store and find glasses that i love and now cannot live without! They sat and worked with me on what would work best for me and would be compatible for specific Insurance. Instead of feeling like an appointment it felt like a fun experience by kind professional group of employees that really cared about helping me! My entire family and many friends have also switched to this business for their eye care needs and love it. I had to write a review after getting exceptional customer service today. I had gone here for an eye exam a couple of months ago and then ended up ordering my glasses online, not from Site for Sore Eyes (my insurance isn't great and cheap frames was my priority). There is something to be said for having a real-life optician and experienced staff fit glasses. The glasses I ordered online had a wacky fishbowl effect going on that gave me a terrible headache. I sent them back, the lenses got switched out, but I was still having vision problems with the new lenses. Then, the delightful lady named Elizabeth bent the frame a bunch and adjusted the glasses arms so that they sit better on my face. I was shocked at what a difference this made! There really is something to be said for supporting a local business like this because of the customer service you get. Every staff is hospitible and it didnt even feel like an appoitment! I ahve recomended this amazing local buisness to all of my friends and family and they love it just as much as i do. I'm not sure people realize what a gem we have in St Clair with Distinctive Eyewear. I recently had double cornea transplants at University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center, and took my prescription to Liz at Distinctive Eyewear. When I returned to the Kellogg Eye Center for a checkup, they checked the prescription in my new glasses. They were full of praise because the prescription in my glasses is "spot on" the prescription ordered by the U Of M Cornea specialist! It was shocking when they told me that they rarely see eyeglass prescriptions that are that perfect. I think that is a pretty high recommendation from a world renowned Eye center. Picked my new glasses today plus spare with new lenses in old frames. This is my first pair of glasses since cataract surgery and prescription was from Kellogg Eye Center at Univ. Of Michigan. Still love the new frames but better yet I love how the new glasses "see". Trifocals, top for distance, middle for computer or mid-range, bottom for reading. All seem to be exactly right. I liked the professionalism, the friendliness, plus Elizabeth seemed to pick up right away the shape and style I was looking for and offered others to choose from. I am so happy with my new progressive lenses. I spent a LOT of money a year ago for a pair of glasses from another optical company. The eye exam was not at all as thorough as the exam I just got from Dr. Carol Allen at Distinctive Eyewear. As a result the glasses I purchased last year ended up in a drawer and I used an older pair that worked slightly better. Elizabeth at Distinctive Eyewear took into account that I am a pianist and widened my midrange view. My near, far and midrange vision are so much improved that I am ecstatic.
