I think the world of Dr. Varanelli! A few years back I suffered damage in the line of duty from fine pieces of shrapnel. My eyesight was compromised and I needed experienced individuals for my after surgery care. Naturally, I was extremely cautious in trusting my sight with, yet, another stranger. I was originally slated to see Dr. Simone. An emergency arouse and I had the option of rescheduling for a later date or seeing Dr. Varanelli at roughly the same time and date. Fate is a strange thing. Now, I won't see any other eye guy. The minute I met the doctor I became at ease. He has an incredible way about him. Very calming and polite. A funny man that's the utmost professional. I learned about different tests he performs. He has the ability to provide insight to my overall health by looking in the back of my eyes (I believe there's a small pun in that last sentence). The staff there is very accommodating and efficient. I worked with Emily today and it was good times. I can't tell you whether or not she is great at her job or using that high-tech Star Trek looking stuff the right way. But I passed all my tests with flying colours so I guess she's wonderful. Great news in that my eyes are almost exactly as screwed up as last year, no worse! Yay! I was also given a coffee mug full of candy on the way out. Thank you, Simone eye. I've never encountered a more unprofessional and unhelpful business before. I would never recommend anyone to get service here, because of the hassle you'll have to go through just to get a hold of them. I tried to get a pair of sunglasses through them, and after my first phone call where an employee named Debbie told me how I should pick out the glasses online, I couldn't get a hold of them for two weeks. When they finally answered a call, I spoke to Debbie again and told her what pair I wanted. She said she'd order them and then send them to me when they got to the office. Almost two more weeks later, I tried calling again because I hadn't received the sunglasses yet. For a few days in a row, I kept trying to get a hold of them, but they never once answered or responded to any voicemails I left. Then I find out that Debbie was purposefully screening my calls. After calling a couple times one day, I immediately called back on a different phone number/area code, and Debbie answers right away. She was audibly disappointed that it was me calling, which is honestly very hurtful. I don't want to feel like a hassle when I'm giving someone my business and so much of my time. She told me that she never listened to my voicemail and never ordered the glasses, so I had to stay on the phone with her for a while giving her my info again while she ordered them finally. Again, I've never encountered such an unprofessional situation before, and I hate to judge the whole business based on Debbie, but she was the only one who answers calls I guess. I feel like screening calls and dodging a customer is termination-worthy. I just hope to never have to deal with Debbie again, so I will not be coming here for anything else. read more

I got glasses from Simone eye center in December of 2018 and at that time i made my appointment for December 2019 since my insurance lets me go once a year to get new glasses. In September or so Simone calls me and says my appointment can not happen on the day I scheduled it 9 months prior but they would be happy to get me in for a visit in 2020! Not sooner or even a different day in 2019 but 2020 so i can throw away a year of benefits. It might be for the best because i have had to take my glasses in three time to be fixed, as a piece of wire was coming out from the nose area. read more

I like Doctor Simone very much and had been a patient for almost ten years before I had a problem. His office staff has declined in quality over the past few years which have resulted in several inconveniences to me. They would always place a phony claim to my insurance for a service they had not given me, such as glasses, and then when I go to get glasses at Lenscrafters my insurance says I've already used my benefit. The three times this happened, I had to wait 1-3 business days for the insurance to fix the claim so I could get my glasses. It was my last visit, however, which was the last straw. I called two months ahead to make my appointment and requested the day off at work. When I came in, they had never scheduled it and said I shouldn't have come in because they didn't send me a postcard to remind me of the appointment. I waited an hour to see the doctor, who was so overbooked he had to have a tech do my exam. This lead to the tech making a mistake which resulted in my having to come in again to have my prescription fixed. When scheduling my visit to fix their mistake, they wanted me to wait two months. Their mistake left me with glasses with an RX so incorrect that it was causing my eye to cross. Because of my history of surgery to correct this problem, I couldn't wait. In their attempt to make me postpone, they told me that Simone wasn't in that day. When I said I'd see someone else, they finally gave me an appointment. When I came in for that appointment, I saw doctor Simone treating a patient even though they told me he wasn't there. Even beyond that, I paid my co-pay in cash, yet received a bill in the mail. They had no record of my cash payment so I had to pay it again only to get ANOTHER bill in the mail. After playing phone tag with the administrative head for three weeks, I gave up trying to get my money back. Needless to say, after all this time I can't go here anymore. I really wish I could because Doctor Simone isn't even to blame. read more

I am so happy with this eye center. First of all, I never knew my insurance covered routine eye exams, so I kind of feel like an idiot for all these years going to the cheap places. Anyway, I was referred here by my primary care doctor because of some on going issues and what a gem of a place. I was so happy to find them. I have been there twice now and the staff is so nice. I have only seen Dr. Varnelli and he is so personable and willing to help you. He explains things to you and does not rush you out the door. This is my new place now till I die. I am int he process of trying to find the right contacts for my messed up eyes and Dr. Varnelli is so patient and willing to work with me. The first time I went there, the assistant was so kind that I actually had to tell the doctor how great she was. You just dont find customer service like this anymore. And let me tell you, I am due for some good treatment as I find most doctors just want to rush you out the door and do not listen to their patients at all. Its so frustrating. You will not find this here I promise. They also have updated equipment and you dont have to the puff thing in the eye thing there. They have newer equipment that does that with out the puff. Thank God! i hate that. oh and another thing i love is that they are not there to up sale you on glasses or contacts.I dont think you can even buy your contacts there. Its so nice. read more

I made the mistake of thinking that they would be pricey, not being a chain. I was so wrong! We have been getting better eye exams, contacts and glasses for less than we paid for a franchise we used to go to! The doctors are on top of their game with education and technology. I'm so glad we made the change to their practice! read more
