WARNING: ALL YOUNG COUPLES AVOID THIS JEWELER FOR ANY WEDDING/ENGAGEMENT RINGS. OWNER IS A LIAR. My wife and I were both sized for rings and then purchased our wedding bands and engagement ring at Distinctive Gold Jewelry in Frankfort IL spending thousands of dollars doing so. After getting married and wearing my ring on a daily basis I noticed it was very loose and had even fallen off multiple times because I was incorrectly sized. I then brought my ring back a month after the wedding to explain this issue and get my ring resized. Unfortunately because my ring is made of tungsten, it couldn't be resized and had to be sent back to the manufacturer and exchanged for the correct size. They wanted me to pay $75 for shipping and the exchange fee. I explained to them that I was sized here and I shouldn't be responsible for paying that fee for a mistake they made. The lady helping me out had to get approval from one of the store owners (Joe) to approve the even exchange which we agreed would cost me $0. (Have the receipt/order form to prove it) Joe helped complete the order and then assured me that they would contact me when the ring was ready to be picked up. They also kept my ring to send back to the manufacturer. The next day, Joe calls me unexpectedly stating that he knew very little about our conversation. I tried explaining the situation only to be cut off by him multiple times on the phone telling me that he isn't honoring our agreement for the even exchange of rings because he believed I had "something change with my body." I tried explaining again to him that I was sized at his store and that my body weight hasn't changed. He continued to talk over me not allowing me to speak and eventually hung up on me with no resolution. I even tried calling him back and he wouldn't answer my call. After spending thousands of dollars here something that should've been a happy experience turned into a horrific one. I would avoid Distinctive Gold Jewelry at all cost! read more

Bought a new Invicta watch online for work, came in the mail and I needed to get some links removed. Came here and had quick and painless service done. This was my first nice watch and they even set it up for me without even needing to ask. Removed all the plastic on the watch, set the time, date and had it up and running flawlessly. Their policy is that if any work is rendered it is a minimum of a $10 charge, and that's exactly how much it cost for them to setup and remove the additional links for me. All in all, I like these guys. They are willing to stand behind their work. I brought a watch in for repair. I got it back, repaired but it wasn't keeping time. I brought it back and they fixed it again. I took a short dip in a pool and the watch fogged up. I went back ( really angry) and they explained that the seals don't last forever, but the replaced the seal at no charge imediately. I was pretty happy that I didn't have to go without my watch for weeks again when they did that. (I'd actually already placed an order for a temp watch thinking I would need to be without a watch again for a while.) Overall, a business that is concerned about customer sastisfaction. They might not be perfecr, but I can see that they are striving for perfection. They will likely get my next high end jewelry purchase. read more

Very friendly staff. I came in to get a watch repaired and the watchmaker was out. There were signs everywhere letting you know that though. I went in anyways to find out when I could bring my watch in and they took the watch to give it a quick once over and said they could repair it but it might be more costly because it has a loose screw floating around in it. But the sales person followed it up by telling me that the watch might still be under warranty, which it was. I will definitely be coming back here for my next jewelry purchase or repair.
