A definite four-star place so close to downtown and my work place which is good to have when you get tired of all the other big box places for taking a break and grabbing some grub. Can't entirely remember what I had that day but I do remember the Wifey had literally one of the best plates of chicken pasta we've ever tried having lived in Houston for a better part of 15 years. We'll have to stop by and actually try the pizza but didn't have much time that day to sit around and enjoy the entire experience.

Ultimate Pepperoni Pizza

We were looking for somewhere to eat in EaDo and came across this place on Yelp searching for pizza. When we walked in we were confused because the building was labeled District 7 Grill - we have eaten at the Pierce location several times in the past but didn't know this one existed. My wife and I both ordered individual 12" pizzas (since we can never agree on toppings) which were perfectly sized for leaving us feeling satisfied with a box of leftovers. I ordered the ultimate pepperoni and it was fantastic - cheesy, flavorful, and generous with the pepperoni. It was a little greasy for my liking but definitely not over the top - easy to blot with napkins. I wish the dough was a little more thin and crispy but that's just my personal preference. Overall, nothing bad to say about the pizza! The taps selection was limited to four and they were out of my first two choices so that was a bit disappointing. The menu was extensive with plenty of burgers, sandwiches, salads, etc. so we'll be back to try a few others. Staff was friendly and service was prompt.

So I love craft pizza and after my time in Sicily and ATL I know when effort and fine ingredients and used. Since this is a pizzeria, I hoped they would deliver a much better product (than a chain) unfortunately they did not deliver. The menu has a good selection and the prices are on par $22 large 3-4 topping. Hmmm, that's where the similarities pause. They crust is good, tasty but the ingredients aren't substantial- it's dicey, small and scarce (see pictures) The chef salad was ok. Asked for condiments, request was ignored and delivery was lukewarm pizza (it was delivered before ETA) so cant blame the driver. Oh well, District 7 Pizzeria.

The sogginess of the "end of day" undercooked pizza. I couldn't eat more than a slice of this lukewarm piece of rubber!

This place should be renamed District 9 pizza because it looks like one of those Star Trek aliens that sticks to your back and makes you insane. Yup, that's how I felt when I paid fees on fees to get this lukewarm piece of rubber delivered to me. Ridiculousness #1 I get it, my fault for being the last order of the day, but what do you expect me to post when you charge $36 for sogginess. Another double failure by EAT24 and Yelp. Ridiculousness #2 For deliveries, District 9, Yelp and EAT24 make you spend $25 minimum, when a regular pie is $16 and an appetizer is $5. What do you do then, order a topping that you don't want? In the future, I'm just not going to order delivery. Ridiculousness #3: The "hit 'n run" Please do us business travelers a favor and just be honest and tell us you're about to close. I even gave the manager an opportunity to replace the pizza by giving them a call. "Sorry we're closed." Ridiculous! I would have done far better with Dominos! I'm at fault here, though, really. I fell for all three ridiculousness and now I remember the last time I swore I would not order any more from EAT24/Yelp businesses. Ya gotta just get in the Uber and do a round trip pick up to a quality place like that 360 Chinese place that doesn't deliver outside a one mile radius. Ridiculous.

The back yard pizza (minus mushrooms and pepperocinis). Bold and delicious flavors! Loved it.

YUM. We ordered the cheese bread, back yard pizza and wild boar pizza for delivery. The cheese bread was gooey and delicious- my only complaint is we ran out of the marinara sauce way too soon. I wish they'd include twice as much per order! I was really surprised at how flavorful the back yard pizza tasted and they didn't skimp on the toppings. The crust was a little crispier than I normally prefer but I didn't mind. My boyfriend enjoyed his wild boar pizza as well. I'd dare to rank this place my third favorite pizza in Houston (after Pi pizza and Luna).

Was looking for another local pizza joint since mine has been overrun with business...needed an alternative. Tried a 12" half-bison buffalo & halfback yard. I opted for pickup and it was ready in 10- 15 minutes. The staff was super nice. The pizza was good. I would of liked a little more meat on it, but they have some unique combinations. The crust was good, it was sprinkled with parm cheese that really made eating the crust enjoyable. I will say that with the amazing ingredients on these two pizzas I was expecting a bigger flavor impact than I got. Hope next one packs a flavor punch. I ordered based on pics from Yelp because I could not access their menu. The yelp menu link did not work and their website said under construction. So this was a huge leap of faith. Plus i have been to some of thwir other non-pizza places. When I picked up the pizza I told the guy and he seemed genuinely concerned and noted to inform the owner. Based on recent serve lately, I was impressed he cared. I will order from them again. Looking forward to trying some other menu items.

I had opted for a beef burger with a side of chili cheese tater tots to share. The burger is quite large and filled generously with whatever add-ins you check off so it was very filling for me. I went with two 2oz patties, but considering the size, I'd opt for a single 2 oz patty if I go back. For my burger I also added scallion aioli which didn't have a strong green onion flavor but was still nice and added creaminess to the burger overall. The tater tots were super crispy, and the chili cheese topping was nice. I had gone shortly after they opened and it wasn't super busy but it started to quickly fill up around 11:30-12. Decent amount of tables and good parking situation outside

To start off with a positive, I thought the falafel patty had a really great taste and was absolutely the highlight of the burger. But outside of that the burger and the toppings I ordered just didn't work as well as I would've liked. I ordered my burger with mushrooms and sauteed onions, both toppings I know I absolutely love from making burgers at home and from other spots, but neither added much. At first I was worried that the falafel was overpowering them both but upon eating them by themselves they just lacked taste. We also got the scallion aioli on the burger and I never got a hint of it at any point. All in all, the burger was very much mediocre outside of the patty. We also got fries with the burger and while they absolutely had some potential they were extremely over seasoned. Any appreciation for the seasonings in a vacuum was immediately overshadowed by how salty they were. We also ordered the Sambal Mayo as a dipping sauce and while it did help subdue the insane salt level and overall tasted quite good, upon writing this review I found out by looking at their online menu that it contained some amount of shrimp. This information is nowhere to be seen on the ordering slip and wasn't mentioned when I handed it over to the person working at the cash register. And while I definitely accept some level of responsibility for not doing my due diligence and asking or letting them know of my dietary restrictions, it's still an extremely frustrating thing to have happen as both a vegetarian and someone with a mild shellfish allergy. If for whatever reason the online menu is out of date or I missed an obvious indication of it containing shrimp somewhere I am more than happy to edit my review.

The husband and wife owners are lovely people. The inside is very comfortable with a very old world cafe ambiance. The burger and fries are clearly made to order and incredibly well made. The burger was nicely seasoned and perfectly cooked, the vegetables were fresh and crisp, the burger sauce was really nice without being cloying or overpowering, and the bun was nice and soft. The fries were those nice, thick, crispy on the outside soft on the inside diner style seasoned fries. The pastry offerings, which I was told the wife bakes herself, look excellent as well, as do all of the coffee drinks. I'm very excited to come back and try their cafe offerings.
