Lost the keys to the Club on my car. They came quickly and had it off in no time.

This is truly a well-run operation. I had called to schedule a re-key of my new condo and was pleasantly surprised that they had availability that suited my schedule. They gave me a 2 hour time window, but John also took the time to call me 20 minutes in advance when he was on his way. This was convenient for me since I did not want to wait for 2 hours in a place with no furniture. John was very polite and quick (I think we talked for longer than the time it took for him to re-key the lock). He was very friendly and even explained the basics of the lock to me (I had no idea I could change a setting so that it wouldn't lock behind me). He also took a quick look at the lock on my balcony, which was helpful too. I would definitely recommend them if you need any work done, their prices are fair and they do not try to push unnecessary services on you. It is just quick, courteous and great service. read more

I'm a bit confused. I called 202-415-0483 District Lock, but got somebody from District Locksmith. Perhaps there is a teaming arrangement? Regardless, I'm completely satisfied. Jerry did an excellent job of rekeying my door. I hope I don't need to rekey again, but if I do, I'll definitely call 202-415-0483 again! $85 service call, $15 for each key hole, $3.00 for each additional key. read more

I had the best experience with District Lock. I had a wedding rehearsal to attend directly after work one evening and with my luck I locked my keys inside of my car. I initially called my insurance company to use a road side assistance company through them but the representative said it would take about an hour for them to get to me. Being pressed for time, I hopped on yelp to find someone near by, which led me to District Lock. No one answered their main line so I dialed the emergency number. I wish I could remember his name, but the guy who answered was EXTREMELY helpful. He was on his way out of town so he began to check in with one of his coworkers on another job to get an ETA on when they could get to me. However, he decided to just do it himself after realizing how close I was to his location. The fact that he stopped what he was doing to come help me shows what kind of costumer service this company has. It took him about 15 minutes to get to me and 5 minutes to get inside of my car. While, District Lock was more expensive than the first company I called, you can not beat such speedy and personable service. read more

Update: 6/3/14 I posted the below review on June 2 around lunchtime. By the next morning, John, the senior technician, had replied to my review. He apologized profusely for the lack of communication and follow through and asked me to give him a call. I called and explained that I had no idea who might still have keys to this lock so I wanted it to be totally replaced, not just a new key made. After apologizing again, he offered to come to my office and said he'd only charge for parts. I wasn't watching the clock as I was busy at work, but I'd say he was in my office fixing the lock about an hour after we talked on the phone. The job was finished quickly and in the end he didn't even end up needing any parts. I wasn't expecting a response to my review, much less so quickly, or for them to work so hard to make things right. So I'm amending my rating to 5 stars. District Lock is definitely the first place I'll call if I need locksmith services again and will happily recommend them to anyone who asks. Everyone has a bad day now and then! ** I recently started a new job and my desk is very old. No one knew where the keys to the locking drawer were and I wanted to be able to secure my valuables so I started looking for a locksmith. District Lock got great reviews, I liked that it was family owned, the pricing semed fair and it's been around a long time. I called the number and explained to the dispatcher that I wanted the lock replaced in a desk drawer but that our office manager needed a price quote before she could approve anyone coming out to do work. The dispatcher said that was no problem, suggested I e-mail them a picture of the lock and that she'd get back to me in a hour or so...that was back on May 21. I called three more times. The first time no one answered and the voicemail was full, the other two times she kept promising to e-mail back in 15 minutes. Today I gave up and started looking at other locksmiths in the area. I shouldn't have to wait almost 2 weeks and continually follow up just to get a price quote. I ended up calling AA Locksmith. The person who answered put me on hold for less than 2 minutes then came back with an estimate and confirmed that if the job turned out to be more expensive the locksmith would let me know before doing anything. Maybe District Lock is helpful if you need someone immediately. But they lost at least one customer to another locksmith. read more

these guys are great, i tried to open up my business this morning only to find my lock drilled. It appeared that someone tried to break in. incredible success. started out at 10am with a call to john. my issue was opening up a "strong box" made by a company in cincinnatti in 1917 that weighed @ 150 lbs. twenty minutes later received a call from jerry who had just finished a job nearby. within 15 minutes the box was open and full of sterling silver pieces, gold coins, watches, rings etc. a real trove!!! he knew exact how to open it with one of the two keys that could/would work. the best experience in decades. read more

My apartment was broken into and my landlord scheduled District Lock to change my locks. I have never experienced better customer service! A small family business, District Lock is personable, courteous, helpful and superbly qualified. John, the locksmith that helped me, was concerned and unsettled about my break in and offered to go onto my roof and make sure that my sky lights were fully secure to prevent future break-ins (I had previously had some construction done and am convinced the point of entry was through the roof). His genuine concern and dedication to leaving me safe and reassured was so comforting and greatly appreciated. I am confident that District Lock will provide trustworthy and superior service. My job required a little extra time and staying past typical business hours on a Friday evening was not a problem at all for John. I am very satisfied and highly recommend District Lock.
