I have used this company two times and both experiences where fast and pleasent. The first time I was locked out of my house in the snow. The technician Lee came to my rescue in the late hours and had great communication skills- he let me know where he was and arrived right on time. He opened my home in a second and the price was reasonable, nothing crazy like I imagined it to be. The second time I used them, was to change the locks of my new home. The communication again was key- My technician arrived at scheduled time and very friendly. I was prepared for this to take hours but these guys know what they're doing. The lock changing was quick and works wonderfully. I saw that the technician was paying close detail to everything he was doing. We've used Dr. Locksmith 3 times with great success. My most recent time involved replacing and re-keying 4 locks in my home. Jacob arrived when scheduled to assess the situation. He quickly gave me a quote and suggested which locks to use. I was happy with the pricing and he was very professional and easy to work with. He ran to their warehouse to get parts and was back quickly to swap the locks. It was a painless process and I would highly recommend their service in the future. We live in a transitional neighborhood so getting strong locks and new keys in our new home was priority number 1. They came through and my wife and I feel SAFE and SECURE. I had a great experience with Lee. I needed to get all of my locks redone, and my HVAC stopped working in the height of summer. The company was able to send Lee out that same day. He was kind, thorough, helpful, and explained to me everything he did so that I understood what was going on. He was so understanding about the heat and conditions, and made recommendations (like swapping some double-sided locks for deadbolts) that helped save me money without compromising security. I called because I was locked out of my apartment. But before I called I did a extensive search on yelp for the best service and price. The reviews for this locksmith we're OUTSTANDING!! But far from true. I was told someone would call me in 30 min. That took 2 hours. Then when he called he stated he was in another job and he would call me right back. That's took another hour and a half. Then when he called back he told me he could not come and someone else would call to come out and help me. I waited another 45 min called him back didn't receive an answer. I then waited 20 more min and called the main number and explained what was going on. I hung up from the main number waited some more and finally the original tech called and said he would be there after he finished his current job. That took an hour. Now all the reviews said that the lock Smith got in their place in little to no time, once my locksmith got there he didn't look like he knew what he was doing. He finally broke my lock and tried to charge me 180$. He ended up giving me a 10% discount. WOW!! I have never been so displeased with service in my life. I waited 5 hours for this. Then he tried to offer to replace the lock he broke for another 200$. I don't think so sir. I would give this place no stars if I could and recommend them to no one. But being as they only have this one bad review people will probably still call them. Good luck, hope you have a better experience then me. read more

Lee came to fix a badly beat-up door on my rental that had been pried open by the fire department under the false belief there was a fire inside while I was overseas. I called them at 3p on a Friday. They were at my door before 6p (ahead of schedule). By 6:20p the new lock and deadbolt were installed. He was super friendly and explained everything he was doing along the way. Great service, quick and efficient. I was in a pinch after accidentally resetting my suitcase lock and needed it to be cut. Lee, one of the locksmiths, was out front of my building within 10 minutes of my initial call to the dispatcher. He was able to cut the lock on the spot, and charged me just above the service fee. Had a great experience with them. The original person who answered my emergency call when I locked myself out of a friend's house (where I was staying as a guest) was too far away to help me. He called a colleague who arrived in about 15 minutes and found a parking space (not easy to do in Washington D.C. on a Saturday!). Jacob got the door open and was great to talk to. i called a few places because i own a property and needed a cheap way to keep replacing locks between tenants. some suggested keypad locks. some suggested rekeying. enter Dr. Locksmith. They suggested a min-key system- i can do it myself and since i have extra keys so boom! done! he did a military discount and called the day before to confirm the appointment. i should add- we discussed one way to do this, then when i sent a picture in, he said he had a better idea since i already had a mini-key system (thank you some previous tenant). He arrived late, but CALLED, so i knew he would be late. once again, thank you for common courtesy. He quickly went to work and replaced the old locks, re-keyed a random lock to match the new keys, showed me how to use the mini-key system AND got all of the locks on the same key!! Lastly, shhhhhhhhhhhhh.... suggested i use the YELP coupon too! So, i think he was a cool guy. Helpful and took good care of me. I think you should give him a call. read more

These guys were great! We locked ourselves out of our apartment on a Sunday afternoon, when no one in our building's management office was available. Dr. Locksmith was at our door in 25 minutes.
