It breaks my heart to write a 2-star review for District Taco, one of my favorite places to get a delicious taco and a great price. The location was busy, but the busyness is not my issue. I ordered my usual: three vegetarian tacos with all of the toppings. When I order that at the two downtown DC locations I normally frequent, the tacos are huge, filling, fresh, and oh-so-good! The experience here was none of that. The ingredients ratio was all off, and the tacos were about 1/3 filled as they are at the other locations. There were barely any beans, cheese, or sour cream, and the tacos were mostly cabbage slaw, which did not make for a very tasty meal. Also, the tortillas were stale and not a satisfying wrap. I was hungry and tempted to even order something else. $10 did not go very far here. I will stick to my downtown locations!

I Blame myself I think district taco is only good for the people that were born here. I ate here before and said it was nasty, but decided to give them another chance. The flavors just aren't right for Mexican/latin food. I'm sorry I took one bite and spit everything on the floor.

Came here out of someone's suggestion and ordered 3 tacos to try. Usually they lay out the tacos on a plate or basket. I did not see it coming when they wrapped it in a paper wrap. Food was pretty good, chips and queso was definitely worth the price. 3 tacos for $8/$9 depending what you get. Gotta pay to add a few other toppings. They do have a sauce bar but only have about 4 or 5 different sauces of different spices. I would come back, and it was pretty decent food, but I hate that we pay for parking, can't win them all I guess.

I only blame myself. I think the regular burrito here is....not good. So why did i think the breakfast burrito would be okay? I didn't expect it to be smothered in some sort of sauce. Damn. DAMN! And i shouldn't have ordered it with veggies which i forgot means x x x green peppers and some onions. The cheese inside was not melted, there weee very few potatoes. In fact when I finally came upon one I got scared about what suddenly had the texture of a rock in my mouth, and spit it out. The tomatoes and lettuce on the side seemed like they had been in the coldest fridge ever. At 11:30 am i wanted to make a better choice for myself than nachos. But this was pretty much a waste of money. The gentleman at the register greeted me promptly. I just wish the food had flavor here.

We've used DT in the past for catering and everyone enjoyed it. So when I had a strong craving for some tacos, I knew this was the place to go. Parking - As you know, parking in D.C. can be very hard and stressful. Luckily, someone was leaving as I was coming in. Be prepared, especially during lunch time. Now, the prices aren't the best. 3 small tacos for $9? Crazy. Back home, I get 6/$5, but hey...it's D.C., right? I went with the 2 steaks and 1 chicken but ended up with 2 chicken and 1 steak which turned out great. The chicken tacos were amazing. Full of flavor. The steak tacos were pretty bland, but the Verde sauce came to the rescue. The tacos are small and it wasn't filling for me, but it was definitely delicious. Does it compare to your wholesome tacos stands in FL, TX, CA? No. But it gets the job done. I will be returning!

Great prices and great food! Service was superb. Food was made to order. Various different toppings for your food. Recommendations that were presented to me and my family were amazing. If you are in the area I recommend that you try this establishment out! Not pictured are the chips and queso and they were phenomenal!

Mestizo or Colorado, what's it going to be?

This is a great place to get a burrito, nachos, quesadilla, etc. I like the self serve condiments and generic soda selection. If you're going plan on ordering chips and queso, they don't come free but you can take it home and reheat for a snack later.

DT is the McDonald's of Tacos. Its quick, cheap and yummy. I always order the three tacos & get chicken, carnitas and beef. The chicken tacos are soooo good! The guac is decent and the queso is more cheese sauce than actual melted queso, but it still does the trick. In this particular location service has always been okay, it's self service meaning that when tables are uncleaned it's more a reflection of the person who ate there rather than the staff itself. All in all, DT is a good/kinda healthy alternative to regular fast food!

Just okay fast food. Tacos are small and not very well stuffed. The nacho plate was good. Street parking. Access by walking and bus.

Amazing taco shop, ingredients are fresh and keep the tacos interesting. Soda fountain is unique as well featuring rare choices.

The hostess was very sweet and I got to take advantage of the nice weather and sit outside. It's taco Tuesday, so the hostess and the server both reminded me it was "buy one get one free" - a great deal! I decided to go big and try four tacos, and all of them were very good! I'm from Southern California, so usually am picky about tacos, and some of these really exceeded my expectation. Al pastor: very tender and flavorful. A teeny bit dry, but perfect with the red salsa they brought for the table. Beef birria: nice and crispy tortilla, the consommé was very fragrant and not too salty, and they were generous with the beef. As normal with birria, it's a bit heavier/oilier, so one was enough, but it's very good! Baja fish: probably one of the favs! I made the mistake of leaving it to last, so the outside of the fish was a little less crispy, but if you eat it sooner, that shouldn't be an issue. The piece of fish was very large and cooked perfectly (very flaky). The flavor was great, especially with that red salsa. Avocado tostada: generous toppings, great flavor balance, fun crunch with very soft toppings. If you've ever eaten a tostada, you know you have to approach it like I imagine people approach skittish horses: with total confidence, even if you know it'll end up as a mess on the place. Otherwise, service was very quick and friendly and they didn't come and bother me during the meal, which I love. It really filled up while I was eating, such a testament to how good this place is. I definitely can't wait to come back!

Our bill was $160 for fries, salmon tiraditos, steak frites (42), seafood coconut rice, lemonade (5, maker have forgotten to mix in sugar so we just had lemon juice?), and the 7 reasons old fashioned (19). My steak was actually pretty good. The seafood coconut rice however was undercooked, we didn't get our dishes until almost an hour after ordering so maybe they had kitchen issues. It took so long we just ate the raw rice with seafood because we ain't waiting another hour. The seafood was very good. The regular old fashioned is better than the 7 reasons old fashioned. Imo they need to get block ice, this is made with regular cubes which melts very fast and gets watery. Best dish for me was the steak, it was very nicely seared. I liked Seven Reasons (at its original location) so I decided to check this out with my husband on a Saturday night. Reservations were easy to get. The place itself is fine in terms of decor. Not high end but not bad. The women's restroom has two stalls that don't indicate whether someone is in there and they're heavy doors, which makes for a potentially awkward experience with you knocking and trying to ram down the door, just to find out no one is in there. But I digress... The food is sh*t, plain and simple. The ceviche is more like raw poke that's unseasoned. The prawns taste like they were sauced in baby food. What I thought would be the hero - the branzino- had weird and misplaced (in terms of taste) dollops of sweet pineapple, it was underseasoned (honestly, unseasoned), and there was a bed of greens (salad mix and herbs, many of which were wilted) on the side. Let me be clear: the food wasn't mediocre; it was bad. Highway robbery. A disgrace. An abomination. Even the drinks were bad. Their take on a gin and tonic is akin to spraying perfume in your mouth and then chasing it with flowers. One of the hosts tried to sell us on a bottle of white wine from Uruguay. We asked to try it and it was worse than 5 buck chuck from Trader Joe's. We passed. And service at other restaurants in the area is better, so I can't even give them high marks for that. One and done. Enjoy other people's money to keep this joke afloat.
