It was a frame I had found nowhere else! As for the front office staff, definitely very friendly but very disorganized. When I was first contacted by Krista she had to get my husband's social and I gave that over the phone. Then she asked me again when it came appointment time; turns out she did not write it in the system. Thankfully I had it in a note on my phone. Not something you keep on hand! Secondly, I was charged for glasses before even being fitted for them. Lastly, it had been 2.5 weeks since I had my appointment and did not get a call that my glasses were ready. Sure enough I called the office and they had them....just didn't notify me. Returning here is up in the air for me. While I had a good experience with the doctor, paying as much as I did for glasses and not having an entirely good experience left sort of a bad taste in my mouth.

When the doctor saw me, he was highly energetic and quick with the exam. He also said that there was nothing wrong with my eyes (I have a vitreous detachment), that I do not have astigmatism and said that my previous prescription for contacts was too high. He gave me an -8.50 for both eyes. My left eye is normally a -9.50 and I believe my right is a -9.25. When I put in these contacts at home, I was severely disoriented and my eyes had trouble focusing. I also was getting a major headache, so I took them out. Today, I tried wearing contacts again using my old prescription in my left eye and his prescription in my right. No major issues, but he was convinced my eyes do not have astigmatism and should be at a lower power. Not sure what to say except that he made it seem like every eye doctor from my past was stupid and he was not. He did say "do you want to get a second opinion?" but if you know anything about insurance, you don't get that second opinion without paying for it out of pocket. I'm glad I didn't purchase contacts from him.

I asked the woman who helping me purchase contacts if they had replacement nose pads, she said yes & said that she can put the new nose pad in. She took my sunglasses into the other room & while replacing the nose pad, slipped with the tool she was using, broke off part of the prong that holds the nose pad in & bent the wire part that connects the sunglasses to the nose pad holder. Since then, I've been back 2 times to have the wire part adjusted & told nothing can be done for the broken prong. Since the nose pad isn't held in securely, I asked if the sunglasses can be replaced. I was told no because they were not purchased there & the brand isn't in network. I said they weren't broken before that incident & she told me that they shouldn't have worked on them since they weren't purchased there. I get that but it's not my fault that the woman offered to change it out & broke them. Of course these are my prescription sunglasses, too. The doctors here are good but I am very unhappy with how this situation was handled. I don't think it's fair to punish the customer for the employee's mistake.

Then when they kept slipping down my nose and I asked about having them adjusted (two trips to the store), I was told to rough up the nose pads with some sandpaper so they wouldn't slip. Completely unprofessional. After a few months, I went to another doctor - I think a number may have been read incorrectly as the prescription was different by one number. Could my eyes have changed in three months? Maybe, but unlikely. A shame...I've gotten glasses there before without a problem. Never again.

However, after receiving my glasses, I had to dock a star. What to expect of your eye exam and picking out your glasses is exceptional service and great attention to detail. The girls are so incredibly friendly and very happy to work there. The doctor was so real and down to earth, which I don't see that trait in many doctors these days. When picking out your frames, they are very honest and will tell you what looks good and what doesn't work. I loved that level of honesty and I found a pair that I thought would be the best pair of glasses I've ever gotten in my life. They not only fit great, but they also looked great. When I received my glasses, they didn't seem to fit the same way as when I originally tried them on. Bummer! When bringing them back for adjustments, it was then that the technicians gave me the reasons for why they didn't fit anymore and suddenly, they weren't as honest and friendly. Mind you, the same girl that helped me pick my frames also adjusted them when I came back. I almost sensed a level of "why did you pick these frames" attitude from her and that was frustrating, considering she was the one who sold me on them. No less than FOUR times during my eye exam, I CLEARLY stated that I use the classes for computer glasses (computer length). At NO point did I say distance, and I never wore bifocals. 4 times! There was no chance of mistake, and yet the prescription they handed was NOT for computer glasses, NOT for single vision, bifocals for distance - was that Rx even mine????? The glasses I like are from somewhere else ($80 vs. their $600 after insurance and I like the $80 ones better which they don't carry. The online place I purchased requires you to give them a correct Rx, and if you do not, no refunds. So guess what - I am out that money with a pair of glasses I can't see out of at ALL! Add to that the time it took to get the glasses only to be wrong, and then time until they could get me back in. Then I had to take MORE time off work for the visit. The Dr. saw HIS error right away and worked with me to get the correct script, listened to me state what he had done wrong and that I clearly stated computer glasses, and at NO POINT was I offered an apology. NO APOLOGY! So unprofessional. Of course they won't cover the money I lost because of HIS error - I may not be so furious had he just apologized for the mistake that he did admit was his. Maybe I have the right script now, after taking off work AGAIN to have to go in? I won't know until I get new glasses, and I am not risking it with the online other provider until I can feel confident that I was given the correct medical info / script - at this point I DO NOT trust what I have been given. I picked a pair at Gateway / Eyetique, grabbing a cheap and ugly pair that my insurance will cover. I had to do this for one specific purpose: I am left without confidence that my medical provider gave me correct care / correct prescription . I rely on medical professionals to be correct, and again .... 4 times! 4 times I said "I need these to be computer glasses". He pointed at his error and did not apologize. So now I have to wait 2 weeks for the ugly pair to come in from them before I can trust that the Rx is actually correct now. Then it will be another few weeks after I order the glasses I actually want elsewhere. I would say "I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed", but that isn't true. I am very angry, and very disappointed on many levels. Paying attention to your client when he clearly states "computer glasses" no less than 4 times, then seeing your error after being told you wasted his time and money, and then NOT apologizing - that last one is really the kicker. That shows a lack of professionalism. I am finishing out this painful process, but I will have a difficult time justifying EVER going back there, and I will certainly not be recommending it. What I will be doing instead is actively letting EVERYONE I know about the chain of experiences I had there!

Courteous, knowledged, and prices not so bad, not that I price eyeglasses often. I brought my own new Silhouette frames as shops charge so much. This was October 9, 2020. Nothing special. Rimless, lens with all the options available. Lens style to be perfect rounds. Out they go to the lab. When they come in, not close to perfect rounds. Remake. Now we are hitting holiday season. Then I was informed that the lens I chose (Trivex) was on back order, and not due in until about Christmas, delay for holidays. Jan 4, 2021, they come in. Asked her to check before I drive almost an hour to verify they are perfect rounds. "Yes they are, I checked". Exact same lens shape as first set. I actually question if they were remade honestly. So, I do not question the eye doctor, but I highly question the eye lab which makes the glasses. Three months wasted, no apology, and did not want to give me a copy of my medical sheet! Never return.
