I've been going to Diva off and on for years. Before I lived in the neighborhood, I would stop here for a latte. I've always enjoyed the space, particularly when my kiddo was younger. Not all places strike a balance in terms of being welcoming to adults and children but I always thought this one did a good job. The furniture could be more modern but it's okay. Staff members have always been friendly. I've had conversations that are simply small talk as well as longer talks about roasting beans. I've caught them right before they close before and still been able to get whatever I need. Their coffee has always been okay but has never blown me away. The notes are subtle and less than memorable. I prefer bolder flavors. This is a good neighborhood option within walking distance. read more

Staff is friendly, a little too friendly... Every time I come here someone ends up cutting in front of me because they are a regular. Also, the cashier tends to like to talk and can spend alot of time chatting up the costumers while your still waiting to order. There is alot to be said for friendly service, but its even better when its fast and efficient. The sugar free hazelnut double shot breve latte you made me today was so, uhh-yea-that's-it good, that I was sippin' in the sunshine with a smile on my face. Service. Not Good. I have come to this location a hand full of times in the last 6 months and every time I feel like I am the biggest pain the a** for walking into their shop and ordering a coffee. I get the heavy sigh and turn of the nose like I am imposing on their day. If you treat me like you don't want me to be there, guess what....wish granted. Great place to study! Great coffee, comfortable atmosphere and good wifi. I really like the large tables and great tasting drinks they provide. I mostly come here when the WiFi at Shoreline CC isn't working, but I would be happy to come here anytime. The only real downside is that the parking lot can sometimes be tricky to get in and out of. read more

Came here at 6:45 on cold, cloudy morning... having to study for a calculus exam! Boo! Well, Diva Espresso made it bearble... an awesome double tall latte with free drip refills makes Stephanie a happy girl. Throw in a ham & cheese croissant... and I'm simply elated. Good, friendly service... yay! They have 5 tables... 4 chairs a piece... so it's a bit small. They also have a loungey area. Not suitable for huge groups... nice individual study spot though. I can't say enough good things about Diva. The drinks are fantastic, the coffee is fresh and the service is superior to any coffee shop I've ever been to. Drinks: I'm lactose and am unable to have milk and drinking soy is not at the top of my list. So finding out they serve drinks with almond milk I was ecstatic! My friend and I asked the lady if they had a drink that was super low in a calorie intake but still full of flavor. Her answer: "the mezzo of course!" So ordering my drink is always a mouthful: Grande Almond Milk Mezzo, decaf with sugar-free hazelnut. I also will sometimes switch it up and get the sugar-free caramel which is also really good. Food: their pastries are fantastic! even the ones they have on the "1-day-old" are still really good. They offer a nice selection of gluten-free and also vegan. There is a peanut butter something else cookie that is vegan - my tastebuds highly recommend. I found myself going so often that I went in once and they gave me a free cookie, just because I asked about it. I will forever remember that. Service: so fantastic! always very helpful, upbeat, happy and ready to serve you. I swear they hire only nice people because that's all I have ever received from them is super nice people who make killer coffee! Ambiance & business: they have a cute setup, offer free Wi-Fi and a service of "bring in your own cup, save 10¢" which is great! They also started offering a Diva Card so the more coffee you buy, you get points and then a free drink. I highly recommend stopping at this coffee shop if you have a chance. read more

Bottom Line Up Front: THE BARISTAS HERE ARE EXCELLENT!! If the line up ever changes, then I'm going someplace else... I was a barista for years and years, and I drink coffee as if it were the air I breathe, but in the past few weeks I discovered this Diva location, and, like a religious experience, I was served the best latte I have EVER tasted in my life!! And that is without exaggeration or hyperbole: it was that damn good!! The secret: the milk was steamed exactly right. It was perfect, smooth and velvety. There are dozens of ways to steam the milk that produce delicious drinks, but there is only one way to make it perfect, and that kid (his name escapes me now) has it figured out. So, yes, this is now regular spot, and I recommend this cafe to anyone who wants to try the best of the best. Also, it doesn't hurt that their pastries are killer! And about the other baristas: their drinks aren't perfect, but they are very, very good; as good as it gets in Seattle, and that is saying a lot! They're also really friendly, which does not impact the quality of the drink, but it helps make a nice atmosphere... I still like to go to Bark and Cloud City for drinks and snacks, but as long as the drinks at Diva remain outstanding I will claim this spot as #1 in town (and yes, that includes the indie scenester hipster douche cafes that shall remain unmentioned here)... read more

I'm new to the neighborhood, and this location isn't far from my house. Parking is usually easy in front. The owners got smart and set up five communal tables instead of two person tables. The people that work here are very nice, and one day when I forgot my wallet, they even spotted me my drink until the next time! WORK REVIEW: It's usually pretty easy to get seating. There are just a few plugs, so park yourself accordingly. The only downside if you're working on the computer is the wifi isn't very strong and cuts out frequently. I had them reboot the router the first time I noticed it was wonky, but it didn't fix the issue, and is probably just the way it is. read more

Typical Diva Espresso. The drinks are good. The staff is usually friendly (at least not rude). This location has free wifi (at least when it works). It also has a/c, which is nice on a hot day (Greenwood location is always way too warm in the summer). The furnitures are rather old and a bit unstable. The parking lot usually isn't bad. Keep noticing that guy, who does everything else but serves drinks, and drives that white coffee company van, is always there, doing little things, no matter which Diva location you visit. Yep, this is the same Diva as the other branches - including another that's on Greenwood further south, so don't get confused there. I have a particular affection for this location because it was the only decent place to go near my high school, so I spent a LOT of afternoons here. It's tucked away in an unimpressive strip mall, but they've got more of the classic Diva decor inside, plenty of outlets for the laptop crowd, and a nice couch and chairs to settle into. Excellent coffee, decent pastries, consistent quality, really friendly baristas, and usually there's parking available even though it's a small lot. Last time I was there, though (I've moved out of the area) they didn't really have pastries, maybe something's changed. Some times are more crowded than others, but it's never too hard to get a seat. I've also been known to read from their children's book collection. All the espresso drinks are good, for the non-coffee-inclined or in the summer, I recommend the Chumley and Soma. I'm a fan of the seasonal winter drinks, too. Thank you, Diva staff, for putting up with me and my high school friends. We appreciated it. read more

This is one of my favorite little coffee places. It's walking distance from me so I enjoy going here often. Let me tell you they have hands down the best Chai Tea Lattee I have ever had. I get half soy and half coconut milk to add just the right amount of sweetness. They also have a seasonal rotating chalk board with unique drinks that are often changed. The baristas have always been really nice and helpful when asking questions about drinks. They also have a display of many different pastries and breakfast items that are also delicious and adhere to many different food sensitivities including gluten-free and nut-free items. I've been going to this Diva since I was a kid and maybe I like it so much because I associate it with a lot of happy memories and with "home" but there is just something so enjoyable about this shop. I have never had a grumpy barista experience which ranks Diva very high in my book. If you come in when there's a line you will be in for a wait but I'd say it's worth it. I guess I just like that they have some personality that isn't "snob." Oh! And they have never given me crap for having to pay for a $3 coffee with a card which I always feel bad about doing. read more

They have left over desserts for $1, just as yummy as new ones. :-) At this particular location, service is kind of slow. I moved to the area about 4 months ago and was thrilled to see I had a nice coffee shop in walking distance from home. The food selection is good and when made properly my coffee can be quite good. The biggest problem I have is with the service. I've never been to a coffee shop that took so long to get a coffee to go. I'm not talking about just one time either, I went at least 6-8 times and consistently I waited 20+ minutes for my coffee. Sometimes there might be 2 people in line with another 2 - 3 waiting by the barista but I'm sorry, it should still not take 2 minutes to serve 4 people. The staff are way too chatty with regular customers and they do not move with any kind of urgency. They are all very pleasant, but I can't wait 20 minutes in the AM for a coffee on my way to work. I bought a pre-paid card because I thought for sure it would become my go-to place but now i'm having a hard time using it up. read more

I'm sure it tastes good in Starbucks-esque drinks, but if you actually like the taste of coffee, this is probably not the place to go. Have you ever had one of those experiences that remind you that it's possible to LITERALLY go weak in the knees? Diva's espresso does that to me. All things considered, good coffee can be had in a variety of haunts in the great Seattle area. GREAT coffee is a treasure. Thank the goddess Diva is willing to share hers with us. Rich and smooth, with just enough of a dark side to make you think twice before you take it home to mama... This coffee is everything a mid-afternoon treat should be. The shop itself isn't quite as accomodating as I'd like, with only a few tables and one couch area. But all things considered, it's better than having to drive down to the one on 80th. For those late-night or early morning espresso cravings you have to sate yourself, grab a bag of their Highland Blend. It's the second best thing to being there. And if you stop by, please don't stare at the girl with the double tall iced mocha and dreamy smile. She's mid-swoon, and prefers not to have attention called to her weak knees. ;-) read more

I've always liked Diva Espresso for their coffee, but until their renovation, it wasn't a great place to sit or hang out. There is much more seating, and seating that is comfortable. I love that they have hemp milk here, and I think they make quality drinks. The food is pricey, but it is nice that there are some gluten free things. The lemon bars are amazing. read more

This was a pleasant surprise. Classic Seattle espresso shop. It is hard to get a good cup of simple espresso, in the authentic Italian or French way -- most places in the US do well at making lattes and mochas and Americanos, but not so much at the authentic espresso experience.
