My non white wife, who had an appointment, was pushed aside for a white woman who came in off the street... and my wife was forced to wait an extra 35 mins for her appointment. She doesn't leave reviews but she was very hurt and upset over the way she was treated. I'll gladly pay extra for her to go to Serenity Nails, where she gets treated right. With such a great location it is a shame this place is not better. I should have listened to the Yelp reviews...lessons learned. They do not use disinfected tools (first I've ever seen that at a nail salon); They cut my finger and did not disinfect the area; I burned my hand on the UV lights as they were on for an hour, clearly not to code; They have no idea how to do a power manicure despite having so many colors. End result...my nails look like crap, my finger is infected and it was an unpleasant experience. read more

~update update~ I consistently came here with an appointment theoretically booked. I'd call ahead, sometimes a day or two, sometimes earlier that day, but they would always say they could fit me in. Always waited at least 30 minutes to an hour and a half. Why even make an appointment if customers will wait? Whatever formula they're using for timekeeping makes no sense. But okay, my nails were always beautiful. And service was fair. This was the best nail service in the area so I tipped well, always 20% or much more. Probably the last time I ever went in to this salon, I got my nails done with these same grey and black tips. My manicurist was like "they look good right?" And I was like "yes oh my gosh! So good. Thank you." And then she said, with no laughter "too good for you." ???? Never came back. Three months later I ended up ripping off my super grown out acrylics and never turned back. I don't see how you can abuse perfectly kind, well-meaning customers like that. After moving here 10 months ago and trying most of the nail salons in or around town ~ this was absolutely the best of the bunch. Michael did my nails and they were perfect. I even brought some of my own buildable polish but I did not need it! I did have to wait a few minutes but that does happen when people are trying their best to do a good job. Pedicure was ok. More rushed than relaxing. I also asked for a gel fill. He did an okay job but there were parts of the nails that were noticeably not covered well with the polish and you could see (near the nail bed) the "bump" from my natural nail to the gel. I asked if that was normal and I was told yes. I think not! I've been getting gel fills for years- this was new for me. And if the color you pick takes more than 3 coats to look the right color, they should add that coat- mine looks uneven. While I was there (and I did make an appointment) 2 older ladies came and asked if they had time for mani pedi's. They were told ye, pick out a color. 40 minutes later, they left. read more

I never leave reviews, but this is the worst gel manicure I've ever gotten. First of all, there are not many options for colors and there is only one brand. The male technician who did my nails shaped all my nails differently and now they're all crooked into different shapes. This is the FIRST time I've ever had a gel manicure ever crack or peel on me. I went Monday night and this gel manicure didn't even last me a week. My mother got her nails done with me, and the same thing happened to her. This is the first time we came to this nail salon because we just recently moved here. We definitely won't be coming back. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because the people working there were friendly. read more

Great place, friendly and they do an amazing job! Ive become use to being cut when I get my nails done. Such a relief to get my nails done not walking out bleeding! There prices are great too ! I don't know who said they don't clean the basins but as I was getting my nails done the lady doing the pedicures sprayed and cleaned the basin as soon as she was done giving a pedicure. Dissapointing, I left with having nothing done. Made an appointment for 1pm, got there on time, all three technicians were busy,only halfway through manicures with other clients. "Wait just a couple of minutes" I'm told. I go to choose my colors - for gel mani and regular pedi. Receptionist hadn't noted that I wanted a manicure, was dismayed that I already had gel polish on my nails (takes a while to soak it off). Clearly she hadn't planned on my being there for that long and I'm guessing she did not have room in the schedule. I asked for the color wheel to see the gel colors, I'm told they don't have one - the colors are on the bottles. Well on *some* there is a pin-head sized dot. Gel manis last 2 weeks - and I like unusual colors. I'd like to have an idea of what my color choice will look like! So I skip the mani - the real reason I am here. One starts running a foot bath for me, yet still there is no one ready to start. I sense I'll be soaking there for quite a while and decided to just leave. They might be fantastic once you finally get started, but time is hard to come by for me, that's why I make appointments. Made an appointment for 5:30 on a Tuesday evening and was taken within 5 minutes. The technician, Kim, was very nice and did a wonderful job with my manicure & pedicure. The vibe of the establishment was much more comfortable than other nail salons in the area. The technicians all seemed happy to be there and I didn't get the impression that there was a 15 minute time limit to each service, which is usually the case. I booked an appointment and waited an hour and half before getting taken back to get my nails started. They told me they wouldn't do my nails unless I waited even longer. After complaining, ready to go to a different nail salon, they begged me to stay and they took me to a chair. They let other costumers who were walk ins go in front of me after I have been waiting over an hour. Every time I go there I am always waiting even though I make appointments. They did my nails in 20 minutes and they look awful. They never have nail colors that aren't dried out. My nails look better when they're not done, then when Diva Nails does them. I have been going to them for over a year now. I had tried many different ones in the area but this one is the one I continuously return to for acrylic nails. All technicians are so friendly and they do a much better job than the others shops in my opinion. They do take pride in their work and make sure you are happy before you leave. read more

Unfortunately, majority of reviewers are accurate about appointment issues. I made an appointment for two pedicures; I was sat fifteen minutes after the appointment and my friend waited thirty mins! When I was done, she was just getting started. So much for spending time together. I asked for no nail cutting, but they used cuticle cutters to cut the sides of my nails and pull them out, causing some blood and a lot of discomfort. There was zero leg or foot massage. Minimal exfoliation. The massage chairs are really comfortable, they have a good color selection... But I'm not sure why I'd come back. read more

I have been going to diva for many yrs. before they came to main st Clinton they were located in the old shop rite plaza in Clinton for many many many years. They always do a fantastic job. Sometimes you do have to wait a little while. But always worth the wait. And someone on here stated that they don't clean the pedi tub. That's just not true. As soon as your feet come out of the water before they begin the pedi. They clean the tub right in front of you. And then change their gloves before they touch your feet. Absolutely horrible customer service the artist got in my daughters face, and attempted to take her card from her as she said she did not have all her money on the card, but also cash for a student discount. We learned after she had her nails halfway done that the student discount was only accepted in cash. The website never stated this. This place is relatively new. Right on main street in downtown clinton. It's your "typical nail salon" atmosphere. the ambiance is nothing to be impressed by. But I was however super impressed with my $13 manicure which included polish. I got so many compliments and people asking me if they were shellac / gel polish. Nope! Just a skilled nail technician who took time and pride in her work. You cannot beat the price and quality, I may just indulge more frequently at that cost! I am extremely disappointed with the Diva Nail Spa in Clinton. They claim to take appointments, however every time I make an appointment I still seem to wait a half hour to an hour before being helped. The reason for this is that they tell every person that walks in that they can stay and get their nails done, turning no one down. While this is good and all, they will take walk-ins before people who called beforehand for an appointment, which is extremely unfair and unprofessional. Not to mention, last time I went the man who did my nails cut my fingers really bad. I simply wanted my acrylic nails to be cut down because they were too long and were getting in the way at work. The man cut them so short that he ended up cutting the skin underneath my nails making them bleed and leaving me in pain. Instead of apologizing, he continued to hurt me and then still had the audacity to charge me afterwards. I was VERY unhappy with my experience at Diva, to say the least. I will certainly not be returning after my last experience, and i strongly recommend people to reconsider going here. Although they are cheap, the bad service is not worth it. I've been going to this place since they were in the old Shoprite Plaza on Rt 31. They are very friendly and do a good job 9 out of 10 times. They do an excellent job with gel nail polish, mine lasted more than 3 weeks a few times, I only get these 2 or 3 times a year. I also have to disagree with the review where it was mentioned that they don't clean the basin after a pedicure. In over 10 yrs that I've gone there, they ALWAYS clean the basin! My only complaint is that they do make you wait forever even if you have an appointment which is very annoying. read more

disappointed. did not honor my appointment: set for 2:30, wasn't taken until 3:15. i got a gel acrylic fill, and one of my nails chipped within 4 days. they offered me a free repair. 2 weeks later, i now have 3 other nails that have chipped. while i am grateful for the free repair, i do not have time to go to the nail salon every time a nail chips. compared to other places, the price was cheap, but so was the quality. i would recommend this nail spa if you're never in a rush. read more

My daughter and I went to get manicures and pedicures we were told 15 minutes. We were finally taken 30 minutes later that should of been a red flag to leave the woman took my daughter to do her manicure first, she told my daughter to have a seat then she went to finish a pedicure she was working on as she was finishing my daughter noticed she wasn't wearing gloves as she was working on someones feet. She then finish that client and came over to my daughter without washing her hands and wanted to do the manicure my daughter was so grossed out she told her not to bother and left, I knew my daughter was upset about something so after she told me I watched them as I as getting my pedicure she was right some wear gloves some don't, but I also noticed they are not sanitizing the instruments they go over to the sink and wash them including the block they use to scrub peoples feet. Make an appointment! It can get busy, considering they don't have a large staff. But- even with an appointment, you probably will have to wait 15-30 minutes (get it together, Diva Nails!!). I came with a friend before and she never even got anything done because of the wait. We were one of the first people to come in. I got my nails done and she was waiting to get hers done. The staff kept taking people that came in after us. I get acrylics from them and it has always been okay for me. There's a man who works there (there's also another guy, he's very nice) and he's generally very rude. He does the acrylics pretty well, though. There used to be eview on here saying that he was racist. The prices are okay. Sometimes when I get my acrylics done, he adds extra money to the price because of the shaping, which is unnecessary. The color choices are fine, some of the nail polish is old, though. I only come back because they do a good job on my nails and are one of the cheaper choices in my area. read more
