Went to Diva for a French manicure and was not happy. The process of the mani was one I've never had before. When applying the polish the technician did a base coat, then a very thick coat of white, which he did remove to make the line thinner, finalizing with a clear top coat. No neutral color polish before the top coat. An additional cost of $10 was charged for having a French mani, which is more than I've paid anywhere. I arrived a few minutes early and Stanley took me right away - I had the best spa pedicure - hit stone massage, lavender mask so relaxing! Then on to my gel mani / so many colors to choose from. I just had the milk and honey pedicure with Nancy and it was fabulous!!! Kevin did a very nice job with the polish as Nancy was super busy. I put lotion on my hands and put my diamond rings in my lap. As I got up to leave the rings fell to the floor and rolled under my chair. Cheryl (was also very busy) stopped her pedicure and took the time to help me look for my rings. She found my diamond under the chair! I have been coming to Diva for years! The place is freshly renovated & looks beautiful! A very relaxing atmosphere. Pricing isn't too bad--you do get what you pay for! No need to worry about icky sinks or cruddy equipment. There are A LOT of men who work at this salon, they are attentive & do a good job, but if you prefer a woman just be sure to request one. The one downside here is the staff notoriously speak in their language. It's rude to be laughing and speaking a foreign language in front of English speaking guests/patrons. I had a mani/pedi this last week from Nancy & it was unbelievable! I was visiting my parents in Delaware from NYC for the week. I am a Broadway actress & can't have shiny fingernails onstage in my current production, as it takes place in 1905. Nancy suggested a gel manicure with a matte top coat for no shine. The result was AMAZING! Also--the best & clearest bright red pedicure I've ever received. She worked hard, took her time, & my nails look so perfect! Ugh I love it here. I live in Gales Ferry and drive a half hour for this place. I popped in here for a gel fill once after the gym and after going to target. I had been going to the only nail salon in Gales Ferry. The minute I sat in the chair my nail tech, Sonny, asked me who did my nails before and showed me how the nail size they chose for my hand was the same width as my finger. I didn't even realize it. He politely showed me how natural fingernails are supposed to look and when he started filling my nails he had me compare. Not only was my previous salon making my fingers look like sausages but they also were doing a shitty job in general. Let's just say Sonny and I now have a date every three weeks on Monday. Also did you read that? THREE WEEKS. That's how well my nails hold up. Every other salon I've been to tells you to come back after two and you usually need it....not at Diva nails. I'm a huge fan. Also got a pedicure there this weekend and it was amazing. I'm pregnant and my back was killing me during the end and my sweet nail tech grabbed me a pillow. So accommodating. read more

I absolutely love it here. I've been here for a couple of times, both for full gel set and fills. Their technicians are very attentive and work beautifully with whatever direction you give them. I've shown them photos off of my phone and they work their magic. I chipped my manicure on my first day of vacation. Yelp led me here. I was not disappointed. I called because it was Saturday and I figured they'd be busy. He told me to come right over. They were busy but they were prepared for it and had plenty of people working. No waiting at all. I was sent over to George who immediately set to work. He did a wonderful job! I was so thrilled with my experience. And the manicure lasted me 3 weeks. It was still in perfect condition my nails had just grown out. Gratuity cannot be added to credit or debit cards but they do have an ATM machine and the fee is only a dollar. Very nice salon with soothing background music. This is the rudest salon I have ever been to with the most inconsistent nail treatments. They speak their native tongue to each other constantly and barely engage with the client. I've had gel nails fall off after a week several times and have been cut by technicians who are unskilled and unsupervised. If you have a legitimate complaint they get defensive and rather than the customer is right, they are always right. Although it is convenient I now drive farther and get better manicures and pedicures with a more courteous staff. Will never go back under this current management. read more

Went there today and filled out the form as to what I wanted done. He told me to pick a color and have a seat. Then he took my paper and had me sit at the next available booth. I asked for "acrylic nails". He then talked me into trying the powder. After sitting there for 45 minutes, he finally came back. I was directed to sit in the seat next to me for the next available assistant. Told her I just really came in to get "acrylics" and didn't want to spend the extra $50 for the powder. The man overheard me saying that and said, she wouldn't be able to help me. I would have to wait for the next available assistant. Total scam! After waiting that long for service...the fact he knew from the very beginning what I wanted, and then telling me after I rejected his offer I'd have to wait. We moved here recently and my wife and I get pedicures frequently and chose this place. We entered and were greeted quickly. Everything seemed great but we didn't see many technicians. We waited over an hour. It gets worse, I had callouses from the long time between pedicures. She cleaned me up and I was done. I waited 30 minutes for my wife so I paid for both of us. Received the milk and honey pedicure from Jack. He was very pleasant but seemed to miss a few things that typically come with a pedicure. The first thing I noticed was that he didn't use the powdered salts in the water. I thought that was odd, so I was just soaking in lukewarm water. He only cleaned the cuticle of the big toes, again odd. He applied the cream on the toe nails and used the wooden stick to push back the cuticles on a couple toes. I had a cut on one of my heels and he was careful not to scrub that area. He said he would give an extra massage, which he did. When it came time to apply the polish, he didn't like the color I chose, so he picked another one for me. I didn't care, but once it was applied, it was very pale and boring. My toenails were crooked and not filed down properly. The polish application was sub par. There were bubbles on most of the nails and the sides of some of the toenails were not painted. I really wanted to like this place and go back, but I probably won't. Lots of confusion when checking out. I was charged $52 when it should have been $50. read more

From the time she started my manicure to the time I left was 20 minutes. 2$ surcharge for using a card. No way to leave tip on card. Atm inside with a surcharge. Prices are crazy inflated. 70$ for a full set with gel! Thats insane! A woman came in eith her own polish and just wanted them to paint it on her toes. No pedicure or anything. And they told her 25$. I have been going here since July. I have loved it Anna Charlie and Michelle have all done my nails. They take their time and they are never rushing. I always come in without an appointment and they always arrange me into their schedule. In addition I am someone who gets my gel nails filled once a month to once every six weeks instead of the normal every two weeks and they are awesome about it and I have not had issues with them lasting that long at all. This place is awesome and I have showed up 30-45 minutes before closing and they always work with me and still do my nails even though they have to stay later but it is never a rushed job it is always done amazingly. read more

Will never recommend this nail salon and spa ever again. I've had previous minor bad experiences but nothing that would deter me, until this last visit. In under a week I had a nail chip, called and was told I could come in to fix it. Was seen by Charlie who didn't even file my nail first, just went to applying the liquid gel. When I said I saw a bubble and lumps because he didn't file first, he gave me an attitude and proceeded to do the nail, still improperly by applying to many coats of polish to TRY and cover the bubble. 3 days after I got the chipped nail "fixed" my pinky nail broke off. And 2 days after the pinky broke off, another nail popped off, still within the 2 weeks of me originally getting my nails done. Not to mention, when you come in they violate HIPPA laws by asking people to show their vaccination cards. I've now had 3 nails chip or break off within 2 weeks and I've NEVER had this problem anywhere else. The attitudes amongst the staff is outrageous considering I paid $80 for my nails - with no design - just to have multiple break within 2 weeks. Unacceptable. read more

The main issue with this salon is inconsistency. If you get Kenny, great Not so much for the other staff. I brought my daughter for a spa pedi (65$) and dip (45$). She had Kenny and ended up with a great foot and leg massage and beautiful nails. I ended up with some young guy who never told me his name who did not do a massage, which was supposed to be in the expensive spa pedi package. He simply ran his hands over my legs and feet with no power. He botched the dip, cut me with the cuticle tool, made my nails a weird shape and seemed not to want to be there. When he hurt me I exclaimed and said "you cut me," he said I know. There was no front desk person to complain to so 225$ later, not including tip, I left frustrated and have to go get my nails redone elsewhere. read more

This a great spot. A little pricey but worth it. I got a full set of pink and white acrylic nails with the get on the top. Total it came to $50. Like i said it was a little pricey but well worth it. When u walk into this very modern salon you will hear some very soothing mediation music. Then u are greeted by several smiling faces that take right away if possible. I really liked the Alan had done my mothers nails. He was very pleasant with her. He made her laugh the entire time. He was very interested in what she wanted which was the Same as mine. I was actually kind of envious of the fun they were having. I also thought his work was a little better. The person i had was very nice and all but he was not very sociable. It could have been the language barrier but idk. He work was just as nice and he spent alot of time on them. I just preferred Alan. I couldn't tell u the other guys name. Sorry. Disclaimer - I really, REALLY wanted to like this place. Great reviews on Yelp, excellent decor, pretty good location... had all of the right ingredients to be a 5 star joint! Seriously, it was beautiful and the massage chairs for the pedis were some of the fanciest (and best!) I've ever experienced. Alas, I'm not sure if I just got stuck with a bad technician (his name was Vinny), or maybe Vinny was just having an off day, but man - it was one of the worst mani/pedi's I've ever had. First, to signal when to take my feet in and out of the water, he slapped my feet. Literally. I've had zillions of pedis before, and am very familiar with technicians tapping your feet to let you know if you should put them in the water, but this guy literally Slapped. My. Feet. It was bizarre. He also cut me twice on my toes (and then three times on my fingers) while using the cuticle nipper. Again, I get mani pedi's all the time and am familiar with the tool. I just have never had that many issues with it. Also, the extra $$ I paid for the hot stone massage was a complete waste, because (I counted), I got exactly 1.5 minutes of massage with it. I also was left with oil on my legs, which was a new sensation. Never had that before... Had to rub it in myself. During the mani, he left my nails jagged, and left polish on my toes (like, the actual toe, not nail) in a few different spots. On my fingers, the polish is applied fairly well, but given the ragged edge I know that it'll chip pretty soon. So, yeah. Wanted to love it, but really couldn't. In a hurry for a pedi...go here and ask for a Vinnie-pedi! My friend and I went for pedicures late last Friday morning. On first glance inside, the mani tables were mostly full, nice decor, no heavy scent of chemicals. We were seated side-by-side in the pedi chairs with our feet in the loose plastic-wrap lined tanks with lukewarm water awaiting our technicians. A capable woman sat down at my friend's chair and began giving the Classic Pedicure. About seven minutes later, Vinnie sat down and asked me which treatment I wanted. When I said the Classic Pedicure, he scowled and began, talking under his breath to the technicians nearby. Meanwhile, my friend is getting a careful and thoroughly methodical pedicure. Vinnie seemed to rush through each step of the process...ending at least ten minutes before my friend's pedi was completed. The Classic pedicure was $28...but everything else costs extra, up to $75 dollars. I felt that they wanted to nickel and dime us for items we didn't want or need. Where I go in Kensington, MD (in the suburbs of expensive Montgomery County just north of Washington, DC), a regular pedicure entails soaking, trimming, callous scraping, hot stones, leg massage and toe polishing are all part of the $35 cost. So for enjoyment value of what should be a relaxing occurrence, I give Diva Nails a 2 of 5, because I love soaking my feet and having someone else painting my toenails. There were a number of places on my toes where there were small polish blobs, the trimmed areas were not smooth - so Vinnie gets a 0 out of five....for his callous treatment and lack of attention to detail. This salon's customer service gets no stars (but I have to put one) it was so bad! Two customers (myself and another) came up to the door to get pedicures at 4:15. The door was locked and even said open until 5:00. When we pulled to open the door an employee came to the door asking "what we wanted." Long story short, we will never be returning. read more

I have been using this salon on and off for the past 4 years. They are more expensive than nail salons in the greater New York area, for the same services. Sometimes , you have to wait ,even with an appointment. That being said, I have had the pleasure of their nail technician Nancy! She is very thorough, excellent at what she does. After four years of trying different places here , she is the first person to take proper care of my In grown toenails ! I also am indecisive about choosing colors. I have lived here for 6 months and have been traveling 3 hours monthly to my nail salon where I used to live. I had just about given up on trying to find a "clean" salon, where customer satisfaction is important in the locations mentioned above. And then I heard about Diva. It is clean, welcoming, relaxing and the owner, Anna, is dedicated to customer satisfaction. I was very impressed with the pedicure section, where sanitation is upmost.
