I never leave bad reviews, but that was one of the worst manicure experiences I've ever had. The technician was extremely rough and caused multiple fingers to bleed during the manicure. It was painful throughout, but the worst part was when he made a mistake on one of my nails and, instead of properly fixing it, he cut a wedge out of my natural nail. This left a visible chunk missing and caused a painful wound. I left with several bleeding fingers, damage to my nail, and a lot of discomfort. I'm STILL in pain and it's been a few days since my appointment. I understand mistakes happen, but the roughness, lack of care, and poor handling of the situation were unacceptable. I will not be returning and would not recommend this salon based on my experience. No customer should leave a manicure appointment bleeding and in pain. read more

This is not my usual location and I should have stayed with what I like. I was very happy before I went in. I had all of my natural nails, one length and over the skin. The nail technician barely spoke to me. He picked up a nail file and filed everything down. Basically down to my knuckle and didn't ask me how I wanted them shaped. Then he says when he's all done. Oh I like the color you like? I looked at him and said no. You didn't leave me any nails. It looks like I chewed my nails down to my knuckle. He said Oh you want long nails? I put on tips. First, she took the drimmel to my nails and went too deep on one and made my skin around the nail bleed, then used the Emory board on my nails and filled not only my nail, but also my skin.. which again, made my nail bleed. I had one nail on each hand bleeding as I left. The woman barely massaged my feet when she was performing the pedicure. The spa is full of dust and debris I was concerned I may get an infection. Furthermore, the response I received from the nail place was.. sorry your nails are sensitive. what? After four of my nails breaking off in less than a week of getting them done, I called the owner and explained my situation to which she replied. If you come in tomorrow, we will give you a new full set for $21. After coming in spending over 2 1/2 hours getting my nails done I was told my total was $40. After explaining I was told the day before I would be paying half of that considering I spent $74 on a fill a week prior they said that I was rudely put on the phone with the manager and talk to with utter disrespect. I used to go here pretty regularly when I was in town. I only stopped because I found a great place where I lived and liked to get my nails and toes done before coming to the beach. Fast forward to this weekend, I decided it would be nice to get a pedicure with my sister so we made a reservation. The lady Cathy was no longer there but I decided to go ahead and try someone else. HORRIBLE!!! I must have gotten the new guy. $58 and he didn't even file them correctly. No cuticle clean up until I ask if he was going to do them. I swear he thought I wasn't paying attention because I was talking to my sister. Funny thing is that my sister's tech started before mine and he was done before hers. The painting job was terrible to the point that another tech had to fix his work. Mind you I used regular polish and the coverage was awful. The next day I decided to go back to have them fix the work and I was met with a young kid who was working the desk and instead of them doing the right thing and fixing the horrific mess, he said it would be $20 charge for repainting his mess. I refused and a lady starting talking to him in Korean and he said ok I'll have to pay something. I said I didn't mind but they needed to fix it. After I came to pay he charged me the $20 anyway and said he said it was $30. NEVER going back. Terrible work and customer service. read more

So this is a mixed review because I had a pedicure and manicure, two services in the same place, two very different experiences. First, let me begin by saying that it is a lovely nail salon. The area for the pedicures is lovely and they use disposable plastic lining which I wish more places used. The pedicure service I chose was $55.00 which is not cheap. Johnny did it, it was good not great. Johnny is friendly and very pleasant. Once the pedicure was done, Johnny escorted me to an older woman who appeared to be annoyed that I just wanted a regular 12 dollar mani, not a gel mani. She never smiled, did my nails really fast, left a lot of cubicles and cut me. I got my services on Saturday late afternoon and my nails are chipped already. My toes still look good! Would I go back? Long term and regular client for years, and generous tipper. While Kathy nail technician does a fabulous job, new owners don't care about customer service and double booked the technician. Waiting 10 or 15 minutes when you have an appointment once in a while is one thing, but it has become a regular thing. Some of us still work and fit in a spa treat in between work stuff, and can't wait long for service and get back to work in time. I booked a mani and pedi, arrived before my appointment time and was shown back to the pedicure room and completely ignored for 20 minutes after my appointment time... not even given a hot water soak pre- pedicure. Staff walked by me, looked at my feet in an empty sink and not one started the water. As I walked out, received an apology... which was the only interaction with anyone since checking in. I do not recommend this place! My 7 year old daughter wanted a pedicure and I wanted a refill for acrylic nails. I usually go somewhere else but needed to get my nails done and this place was close by. The man who was going to do my daughter's pedicure was very rude and scared her that she actually decided not to get it done. Its only been three days and every single one of my nails had either broken or chipped acrylic. We went in a group of 6. Made an appointment for 5 and brought 1 extra person, no problem! They were very busy but accommodated us. We all did manicures, pedicures and waxing. I got the lavender pedi with gel and a gel manicure and it was $80 which I think is a good price! I don't ever get my finger nails done, but I was going away for a business trip and requested a gel overlay on my nails to strengthen them and a gel pedicure for the event. Only 48 hours later I had two of the gel overlays pop off, and the polish on 3 of my toes peeled off - the person who painted my toes got the polish on the sides of my nails and cured it on my skin, so it never sealed on the nail. The person who did my fingers didn't clear my cuticles, so the gel didn't create a seal on my nails at the base.... The rest of the set basically popped/peeled off over the next few days while I was away. I called to ask for a refund, and they advised their posted policy said no refunds, but they'd be happy to fix it. I told them there was nothing left to fix, and I was already at the event I was traveling to that I needed the services for. I also told them that my work schedule doesn't allow me to see them during their working hours anytime soon. I am in process with disputing the charge with my bank. I get their policy, but in this case it was a special event that I needed this done for, and they botched it, and it can't be fixed for its intended purpose. read more

The male with the camo pants who did my nails was so aggressive and in a bad mood and so was his wife or coworker. he took off my toe separators so fast and pushed my buttons on my chair fast without saying anything or looking at me and at the beginning they both kept trying to up charge me to get gel.. like regular nail polish wasn't an option and a bad decision. the woman doing my stepmoms nails kept trying to up charge the services when she said 3 times were just getting the express service. she kept pushing the cucumber after she said no already and it was really uncomfortable after. like they wouldn't look at us and was really aggressive. my step mom said to please be gentle and you don't even have to cut my cuticles i have sensitive skin. she was cutting into her cuticle and she kept cutting them anyways till it bled, then she put alcohol on it & it burned so bad & she didn't seem to care and started talking in mandarin. then we were waiting to leave in some chairs in the front & a worker rudely said "can i have my station back" instead of saying like hey would you mind sitting over there while you wait? while right next to him was a coworker just on her phone doing nothing and could've offered us a seat or she moved instead of your customers. when i went to tip my nail tech he didn't even look at me and grabbed the 5$ so aggressive. I feel like these people just sees humans as just money not a human and didn't care about us at all just the money and us leaving. such a bad energy from the people and bad sales pushiness and not relaxing. Rude and Unprofessional The lack of communication from everyone was ridiculous. I, along with my four friends, wanted manicure and pedicure services done and walked into the salon/spa at around 5:30pm. They do not close until 7pm. The employees at Cartino did not let us know that one of us would be waiting until another technician was available which was more than 20 minutes. My nail tech's name was Anthony, I believe, and he was very rude. He did not communicate that he could not do designs. I explained and drew a picture of the design that I wanted prior to receiving the nail services and he says to me "Well why didn't you tell me that from the beginning." I explained everything that I wanted for my nails and showed this young man the picture that I drew, so he was clearly confused.
