    Dive 75, New York
    Bruce K.

Time for another adult beverage after walking 25000 steps so far today and it's in the upper 80s. Yelp brought me to Dive 75 where I enjoyed a draft beer while trying not to get too irritated by the six yuppies who were too loud and too drunk. Whatever. The beer was cold. The air conditioning was cold. I had a nice break from my afternoon before whatever would be next. [Review 18377 overall - 375 in New York - 1899 of 2022.]

    Jello shot anyone?!
    susie K.

I was tempted by the jello shots but was impressed with the selection of tequilas. Was happy to see that they had a tequila I've been wanting to try - ja ja

this place was super cozy and fun. has board games, small food menu (pizza popcorn cheeseburger) had candy on all the tables (may have been from halloween) drinks were varied and fair, cocktail I got sour cherry gin one wasn't the strongest or best but hey it's a dive. not too many tables and few with large seating, most seats are for 2. popcorn came in a microwaved bag costco brand but honestly it was great. would come back for sure

    Deirdre's Hand Crafted Cork Coffee!
    David B.

Ya want a legit hand crafted Irish Coffee, stop in when Deirdre is behind the bar and ask her nicely to whip one up. Literally. None of this spray can whipped cream and a cuppa Sanka. No no no Beans that are ground and french pressed. Heavy cream whipped to order. Just like gramma used to do! Best thing this side of Cork!

    Weak Pours!!

Helpful bartender, great casual place for a casual beer or meeting friends. Nothing but potato chips food-wise, though.

This place was chaotic and I didn't love the feel. The drinks were ok but they did have my favorite beer so that's a silver lining moment.

Great bar to watch baseball in! $5 for a bud light is one of the cheapest around, with lots of other options between 8-10 dollars.

Can't complain. They have four booths in the back maybe it was three. I did notice one of the hanging lights was from an 80s pizza hut joint. Letting you know now the paper towels for your face at the table felt like jail toliet paper, very rough. The bar doesn't have bar stools with backs! You either need to get one or two tables by their mini kitchen, very hot there not recommended for preimenopause or menopausal women or one of the booths. This is a great bar they played 60s music a lot. Heard some weird al too! Very random and fun place to be. The bartender was nice as well as security! Try the burger! Worth the $9!!

It has easily earned a spot as one of my favorite bars of all time. The underground space flawlessly captures a raw, seedy, 1980s rock 'n' roll vibe, with eclectic decor that extends beautifully to the themed menus and custom glassware. Sitting at the bar was a highlight--the bartenders were fantastic, clearly proud of their craft, and they even humorously indulged my game of trying to guess the ingredients of each drink they mixed. The cocktail lineup is phenomenal. A few absolute highlights: the Purple Rain with its purple ice and peppercorn, the flambéed Dirty Dancing, a brilliant espresso martini riff called Flick The Bean, and Pure Temptation--which has glassware you just have to see for yourself. Don't miss this place if you're in NYC!

You need a password (easy to find online), and you go through a hidden door down a staircase. But it feels more like a novelty than anything else. NYC has way more iconic speakeasies, so this isn't somewhere I'd go out of my way for more than once. Nothing wrong with the vibe--it's Times Square, so you already know what you're getting--but it's definitely a one-and-done kind of spot. The drinks are good and super fun, but they're very extra (smoke, presentation, all that), so between that and how packed it gets, it can take a while just to get one cocktail. Didn't try the food. Overall, go for the pics and TikToks--it's perfect for that. I'd recommend checking it out once, but I don't really see it being a repeat spot.
