Came here for a Knicks game and really enjoyed the nachos and wings they had! The nachos had a lot of toppings on them, which is much appreciated as lots of sports bars will skimp on toppings. Taking off a star because I had a weird experience with the people at the front. I'm currently recovering from an injury and I'm in a pretty obvious neck brace. I was visiting with two people who were on their way and would be arriving in about 10-15 minutes and the people at the front told me I couldn't be seated until they arrived. I understand that this is normal protocol, but I pointed out my neck brace and asked if an exception could be made because it's significantly more comfortable for me to sit down (and there was no room at the bar). They said that their manager wouldn't let them do that, and that they couldn't seat me until the rest of my party was there. There were tons of table tables available the entire time and when my friend arrived about 12 minutes later, they seated us, I totally could've sat the whole time and it wouldn't have been a problem. Came Saturday morning at 1130 am and made a reservation but it probably wasn't needed. It's a bar restaurant so it's super casual. 4 of us shared the potato croquets and French toast bites appetizers. Everyone liked their meals and thought the portions were good! I had the fried egg burger, my sister had chicken and waffles which was little chicken bites and little waffle circles. It made it so easy to eat and was the ideal way to eat chicken and waffles. They serve excellent comfort food like wings, tacos, burgers, and fish & chips. I ordered the chicken wrap, which comes with grilled chicken, avocado, tomato, arugula, bacon. The atmosphere was amazing, beautiful Christmas decor through out the establishment. Service was great, the bartender was nice and had a really good vibe. A nice place to grab a drink and a quick bite, we got the truffle fries and salt & pepper chicken bites with the chili sauce (the sauce made the chicken bites) a tad more salt and pepper or seasoning would've been a 10/10 for me. The food wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. I had the fish and chips, and it was more breading than fish plus the fries were not tasty too. My fiancé had fish tacos (which he loved) and his daughter had the smashed burger with fries (she liked it as well). The service was kind of slow but it was busy when we went. The ambiance was loud but of course it goes with being a sports bar and grill place. I would recommend it to anyone who wants some bar type food if they are ever in NYC. read more

Came here New Year's Day at around noon. Immediately got 2 bar stools in front of a tv which was great for college football. The bartender was busy and did take a while to greet us, and I had to ask a few times for a water. But when she got to know us more, she was wonderful. She was funny and kind. She ended up doing a great job. The beers we had were nice- an awesome selection. The buffalo chicken wontons were excellent! 10/10 would order again. They have reopened the three monkeys in a much nicer space. The staff is still getting used to the menu and the space, but it's really quite pretty. The manhattan I ordered was not great, but the beer I got was excellent...it's like the Three Monkeys of old in that sense. The food is Three Monkeys bar food. Enough TVs and seating to make for comfortable gathering with friends or watching sports. The service is horrible ... waited 10 minutes for bar tender to even come over to ask for order although bar had 4 people sitting there on a 10-15 seat bar. The receipt charges you for using a credit card (like places that ask you to pay employee healthcare or other silly charges) and then tries to suggest tips not on the bill, but all the fees. Made a reservation through OpenTable for a Sunday afternoon of NFL, accepted by Three Monkeys three months in advance. On the eve of the event, I get a cancelation notice from OpenTable. No call or contact from Three Monkeys. When I called them, they simply said they don't take weekend reservations and put the blame on OpenTable. The first person I spoke with didn't even apologize, despite this being an obvious inconvenience for me. The manager then did apologize but did zero to make things better. I once experienced a similar problem with an OpenTable reservation with Henhouse Brewing in California. Their response was an apologetic email and explanation at the time of the cancelation. They even threw in a small coupon. Bottom line, they were thoughtful and professional, unlike the management of Three Monkeys. read more

New York City has some interesting bars, restaurants and this one also has a comedy bar upstairs with a cover of $10. Located on 54th Street between 8th Avenue & Broadway, don't expect to find great parking if you drive from out of town, but that wasn't an issue for me and a bunch of my work colleagues, our hotel was conveniently located a few blocks away. No need reservations, just come by, but it does get crowded. This recent visit, me and my colleagues came by late afternoon into the early evening. It was a party of 7, we ordered tacos, French fries and a bunch of other gastropub style food along with adult beverages. I was satisfied and definitely coming back here again, which is why it gets 5 stars from me. It's all about the food, service, and the atmosphere. The craft beer list is impressive (I think they have over 30 taps) and the staff was happy to give recommendations. We sat on the second floor which has a cool vibe and plenty of screens. A little bit on the pricey side but definitely worth it in the end. NE Patriots game watching is FANTASTIC at 3 Monkeys!!!! My BF and I live right in Boston and were NYC for a long weekend. Wanted to finish up a great few days by watching the NE Patriots game at a sports bar. Did my research before leaving Boston and was very happy to see that the 3 Monkeys website shows NE Patriots sports bar!! Stopped by on Friday afternoon to check the place out. The bartender recommended we arrive early on Sunday to ensure we'd get a seat upstairs. We listened and got there right about 1130 am for the NE Patriots at Bengals 1pm game. Glad we did that since the place did get packed. Was so great to watch the Patriots WIN that game amongst others who love Boston sports. Fans were not only wearing Patriots gear but Celtics Bruins and Red Sox attire was in attendance as well! Add the fact that there are 36 beers to choose from and really good food.
