Came here for a Knicks game and really enjoyed the nachos and wings they had! The nachos had a lot of toppings on them, which is much appreciated as lots of sports bars will skimp on toppings. Taking off a star because I had a weird experience with the people at the front. I'm currently recovering from an injury and I'm in a pretty obvious neck brace. I was visiting with two people who were on their way and would be arriving in about 10-15 minutes and the people at the front told me I couldn't be seated until they arrived. I understand that this is normal protocol, but I pointed out my neck brace and asked if an exception could be made because it's significantly more comfortable for me to sit down (and there was no room at the bar). They said that their manager wouldn't let them do that, and that they couldn't seat me until the rest of my party was there. There were tons of table tables available the entire time and when my friend arrived about 12 minutes later, they seated us, I totally could've sat the whole time and it wouldn't have been a problem. Came Saturday morning at 1130 am and made a reservation but it probably wasn't needed. It's a bar restaurant so it's super casual. 4 of us shared the potato croquets and French toast bites appetizers. Everyone liked their meals and thought the portions were good! I had the fried egg burger, my sister had chicken and waffles which was little chicken bites and little waffle circles. It made it so easy to eat and was the ideal way to eat chicken and waffles. The food wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. I had the fish and chips, and it was more breading than fish plus the fries were not tasty too. My fiancé had fish tacos (which he loved) and his daughter had the smashed burger with fries (she liked it as well). The service was kind of slow but it was busy when we went. The ambiance was loud but of course it goes with being a sports bar and grill place. I would recommend it to anyone who wants some bar type food if they are ever in NYC. read more

Came here New Year's Day at around noon. Immediately got 2 bar stools in front of a tv which was great for college football. The bartender was busy and did take a while to greet us, and I had to ask a few times for a water. But when she got to know us more, she was wonderful. She was funny and kind. She ended up doing a great job. The beers we had were nice- an awesome selection. The buffalo chicken wontons were excellent! 10/10 would order again. They have reopened the three monkeys in a much nicer space. The staff is still getting used to the menu and the space, but it's really quite pretty. The manhattan I ordered was not great, but the beer I got was excellent...it's like the Three Monkeys of old in that sense. The food is Three Monkeys bar food. Located on 54th Street between 8th Avenue & Broadway, don't expect to find great parking if you drive from out of town, but that wasn't an issue for me and a bunch of my work colleagues, our hotel was conveniently located a few blocks away. No need reservations, just come by, but it does get crowded. This recent visit, me and my colleagues came by late afternoon into the early evening. It was a party of 7, we ordered tacos, French fries and a bunch of other gastropub style food along with adult beverages. I was satisfied and definitely coming back here again, which is why it gets 5 stars from me. It's all about the food, service, and the atmosphere. When the main comedian took stage, Sheba Mason - she followed an already off-putting night of set lists... Ones that included interacting with audience members & then harshly insulting them after with cheap low-blows. Not even in a "clever/witty, comedy show, haha, kind-of-way"... but in a "mean, hateful/spiteful, WTF??! sort-of-way". SHEBA HERSELF was the MOST CRASS - Targeting this ONE girl, making a spectacle over her being adopted & mocking her ethnic background!!! This lady went SO far as to call SECURITY on this girl, who had ONLY interjected to defend herself!!! On TOP of that & the tasteless acts, there was a $10 cover charge AND a 2 drink minimum. Made a reservation through OpenTable for a Sunday afternoon of NFL, accepted by Three Monkeys three months in advance. On the eve of the event, I get a cancelation notice from OpenTable. No call or contact from Three Monkeys. When I called them, they simply said they don't take weekend reservations and put the blame on OpenTable. The first person I spoke with didn't even apologize, despite this being an obvious inconvenience for me. The manager then did apologize but did zero to make things better. I once experienced a similar problem with an OpenTable reservation with Henhouse Brewing in California. Their response was an apologetic email and explanation at the time of the cancelation. They even threw in a small coupon. Bottom line, they were thoughtful and professional, unlike the management of Three Monkeys. read more

A really great hole-in-the-wall place. Came here with a friend and we both had a great time. It's unassuming from the outside but it's so nice inside. It even has 36 beers on tap! As a beer lover, this is music to my ears. Service is good. The check up constantly and they're friendly. We ordered the garlic parm fries and the garlic was a bit too over cooked, but it was fine. The receipt charges you for using a credit card (like places that ask you to pay employee healthcare or other silly charges) and then tries to suggest tips not on the bill, but all the fees. On our last evening in NYC, I took the group on a pub crawl with started at Three Monkeys. As an Untappd Verified Venue with their own badge, I made a point to start here on a nice long walk around Hell's Kitchen. Their beer selection looked fantastic. On arrival, the doorman was collecting cover charges for a comedy show. But when I said we were just stopping in for drinks, he let us all in for free. We sat at the end of the bar; really cool vibe inside with high ceilings, lights, and a jovial crowd. I got a flight of four special beers and enjoyed them. Service was fantastic with attentive service and friendly attitudes. Prices were reasonable. We didn't stay long, but had a memorable visit. read more
