I like the Dive Bar & Grille. Great location and friendly staff. Today's visit was different from past experiences. Sitting at the bar, service was slow, and several minutes had gone by before we received any services. I ordered the Flank Steak Frites, beans and rice, and sautéed spinach. I ordered my steak medium-rare. About half of it was a touch over medium. Good flavor, but I only ate half. The espresso martini was good. Too much water from shaking it up so it was a bit on the weaker side than I have had. Overall, decent meal and experience. I will definitely visit again.

Great spot to enjoy the nice weather. They have a patio deck with outdoor seating that overlooks the river and other buildings. We came with a group of 6 and enjoyed a variety of food including burgers, salad, chicken and Reubens. The tarot tots are amazing and come as a side option. Lots of beer and cocktails to choose from and great service.

Excellent food! My first time and had a great time. So many things on the menu I want to try. Will definitely be back to visit.

Overall: okay food, lots of drinks and draught beers, service was lacking, casual ambiance, inclusive single-stall restrooms, changing pad available I love Savage Mill. This place is where Ramshead used to be. It has a large menu, large selection of draught beers and other drinks. I didn't see any mocktails. They have some weekday specials and host trivia. They have multiple different places to sit. There were two large tables on the side which were nice to sit large parties of 8-12ish. The menu was huge with lots of options. Not a lot on the menu got me excited but I was pleasantly surprised with the drunken shrimp. It had good flavor and a little bit of spice. They fried over the shrimp tails which was a little hard to figure out where to eat and not eat. Our server didn't check on us very often and we had to continually ask for things like water.

When is a medium-rare burger fully cooked? . Ok... rhetorical question. I stopped in for a quick lunch while in town. Only three other patrons were seated, yet no staff checked back in after dropping the food at my table. My order was "no onions" -- but it came with onions anyway and too well done. Attention to detail clearly wasn't on the menu. On the positive side, the space is nicely decorated, with a classic Mill look that gives it character. Unfortunately, the food and service lived up to the "Dive" part of the name. They missed the mark here. Maybe they perform better when it's busier? If so, that's not a great business model. For me, the experience didn't measure up.

The dive bar and grill is anything but a dive bar. The food is excellent, the ambience is slightly more upscale but the prices are reasonable. Stopped in before the ghost tour which would be taking me through the mill mall. This place had some loaded nachos which were some of the best I've ever had. Plenty of chips, plenty of toppings, and layers is cheese. Additionally I had the Brussel sprouts which were good but the chips were better. I also had a Moscow mule while here and it was typical. I would ask more for of a punch in it and less ginger beer. Service was great and I enjoyed taking about the local haunts to get an idea of what else was good.

Oh my! The salmon and sweet potato totter tots with the cinnamon sauce is a fan favorite. Conveniently located at the Historic Savage Mill mall. I stopped by one night after "Girls Night Out" and I was not disappointed. They have plenty of seating with a down and upstairs dining room. Plenty of options on the menu and delicious drinks.

Macho Man Reuben -- that shouldn't be called a reuben.

Meh! I ordered the reuben, which is my favorite sandwich and my goto if I'm at a new sandwich place. Dive Bar has three variations on a reuben. So, I figured I should try one. Really, I shouldn't have. I'm actually not sure why they call it a reuben. It might have been a better sandwich if it wasn't so unlike a reuben. The fries, the slaw, the tomato?? What was I thinking ordering that?

This is a BEAUTIFUL space especially on the outside deck. There is live music, a pool table. The service was really good. I did enjoy my food( beef taco) and drink ( mojito). There is a public parking lot . It's a great day night, solo night, family or friends night hangout spot.

    Happy hour drink menu

Another Happy Hour review, you ask? Absolutely! I visited Dive Bar with a group last Friday. I wasn't sure exactly where it was until I pulled up and realized it's in the Savage Mill building - how exciting! I hadn't been there in years. The venue, formerly home to Rams Head Live, offers plenty of space, with both an upstairs and downstairs area that can accommodate many guests. We tried a few dishes, starting with the Buffalo Wings flavored with Old Bay. They were okay, but nothing too exciting. The flavor was there, but they didn't stand out as anything special. The Hanger Steak & Fries was ordered by a friend and she said it was good although it was cold. I did try the fries from another's plate since my food was still not out yet and the were good - love places that cut their own fries! When my food finally came, I dug into that hummus! The platter was decent. The hummus itself was tasty, and I liked the addition of tomato, which balanced the saltiness well. However, I wasn't a fan of the black bean dip. I tried it, but didn't go back for more as it just didn't suit my taste. I ended up dipping everything (except my naan) in the hummus, trying to keep it low carb. I also enjoyed the Baked Pretzel Sticks, though the beer cheese wasn't what I expected. It was thick and lacked the smooth, cheesy flavor I was hoping for. One of my friends had the Crab Dip and said it was good - though I didn't get to try it. It looked like the usual crab dip without lump meat, so I wasn't too excited to try it myself. The standout for me was the Passion Fruit Paloma - it was amazing! I enjoyed it so much that I had others at the table try it too. While it wasn't on the happy hour menu, it was only $10 and definitely worth it. One downside was the service. Initially, the drinks weren't being made at the bar, which was confusing. As the night went on and service remained slow, we ended up going to the bar ourselves to place drink orders. I'm not sure if there's a separate bar for diners, but that could explain why drinks were taking longer than expected. The biggest issue, though, was the wait for food. We noticed that people who arrived after us were getting their food before we did, which was frustrating. When I asked our server if he needed help, he assured me he did have assistance, but the service was still extremely slow. I would go back for the drinks and sit at the bar

Very nice experience. Really good service, and beer, and cocktails. All the food was great. We were cold, and our server was happy to lower the air for us. The live music was really pleasant, and not so loud that we couldn't converse. And the place is reasonably priced.

The menu offers a nice balance between curated bowls and build-your-own options, and everything on display looked vibrant and genuinely fresh. Even the subtle aroma of garlic in the air set the tone in the best way. I don't usually go for chicken (I cook enough of it at home), but being from Hawaii, there was no way I was passing up on their limited-time Huli Huli chicken. For those unfamiliar, traditional Huli Huli chicken is typically bone-in, skin-on, soaked in a brine, marinated with a blend of soy sauce, ginger, brown sugar, garlic, and pineapple juice maybe rice vinegar or ketchup, it's all left to the cook. Basted several times as the meat is flipped until fully cooked. Back home, you don't just eat it--you experience it. You smell it long before you see it--grilling on those iconic half oil drum kettles along the roadside, often set up for fundraisers or local gatherings. The sight of chicken quarters being flipped ("huli" means "turn") and basted over open flames is pure island nostalgia. So yes, expectations were high. I was offered a sample, and it delivered. The flavor balance was spot on--savory, slightly sweet, and deeply satisfying. The chicken itself was moist and tender. The only thing missing was that classic crispy, charred skin and the full leg quarter presentation you'd find back home--but even so, it didn't disappoint and left me wanting more. My bowl came together beautifully with coconut sweet potato sauce, fresh spinach, garlicky cilantro green beans, and basmati rice. It was flavorful, well-balanced, and delicious. Service was another highlight--the staff was friendly, patient and helpful with recommendations. The space itself is not large to eat in but it was clean, bright with ocean-toned blues that nod to its island inspiration. I'll definitely be back--especially while that Huli Huli chicken is still on the menu.

The atmosphere was warm and friendly, welcoming and not pretentious, a mix of couples, families, and groups of friends enjoying a night out. The restaurant was bustling, the bar area was nearly full and while we did have a reservation, it appeared not to be absolutely necessary. Service was friendly, prompt, and informative.    I started with one of their craft cocktails and our server recommended a beer for my friend. The drinks were perfectly refreshing and a good start to our evening. When my friend saw they had oysters, this convinced him we had chosen wisely. We selected a mix of their oyster offerings. They arrived chilled and with just the right amount of condiments making for a tantalizing slurp to start our dinner. For starters, we selected the Brussels Sprouts and the Roasted Beet Carpaccio. The Brussels were perhaps some of the best we've had in quite some time, perfectly cooked and seasoned. The goat cheese on the Beet Carpaccio was very good, but for me, the flavor profile wasn't quite there, it needed a little more acidity. For dinner, my friend selected the Shrimp and Grits, and I chose the Argentinian Steak. While quite good, constructive criticism would be that the vinegar in the chimichurri, smothered an otherwise perfectly cooked, flavorful steak and the rosemary overpowered the roasted potatoes. The grits, while delicious, were almost too creamy rich, but otherwise a delicious blend of sausage and shrimp. For dessert, we shared the Key Lime Pie and the Carrot Cake. The cake was very good, but we weren't fans of the hardened frosting top, and we wished the Key Lime Pie had even more tart, lime flavor.   The portions were plentiful, the price point was reasonable, and all plates were wonderfully presented. The friendly neighborhood environment, atmosphere, and service all enhanced our dining experience. Definitely give them a try, we will return and look forward to it.

The chicken was cooked on the grill--which I love--because it really brings out the flavor in jerk chicken. I also requested my jerk sauce on the side since I prefer a dry rub style over a saucy one. The only drawback was the small bone pieces in the chicken and rice. That's something to be cautious about, especially if a child is eating the meal. The plantains were also inconsistent--some pieces were hard, while others were mushy. On the bright side, the coco bread was perfect and the Jamaican rum cake was phenomenal. Whoever baked that cake clearly took their time soaking it in rum. It reminded me of the way my grandmother used to make it--absolutely delicious. I would definitely order the rum cake again.

So I prefer a beef burger cooked medium with blue cheese, mayo, lettuce, tomato, and onions. When I burger got tot the table it was dry as a board. No blue cheese that I paid extra for and the burger was not cooked correctly it was cooked well done. Smdh. So the waiter brought me my blue cheese apologized about it and also gave me a mayo bottle. Ambiance and First Impressions... When we arrived, the restaurant was surprisingly empty, which was a bit of a head-scratcher for brunch time. Even though we could hear staff chatting in the back, it took a good five to eight minutes before anyone came out to seat us. Once we were seated, we noticed the lighting was so dim that we actually had to whip out our phones just to read the menu. Not exactly the cozy brunch vibe we were hoping for. The Food: Hits and Misses... On to the food. We started with the cream of crab soup, which was just okay--nothing to write home about. The Brussels sprouts were a bit of a letdown. They were tiny and mostly just fried leaves rather than the hearty sprouts we expected. So if you're imagining those classic roasted Brussels sprouts, this wasn't it. The chicken and waffles were decent in flavor, although the presentation could have used some polish. The pita bread for the crab dip could have been toasted or something more firm and doesn't taste like it was immediately pulled from a bag. Surprisingly, the star of the meal ended up being something as simple as the French fries. They were really tasty and stood out more than some of the fancier dishes. Service and the Final Stretch... Our server was kind and polite, which we appreciated. But the big hiccup came at the end. Their payment system went down, and we ended up waiting over 30 minutes just to settle the bill. After sitting for about 15 minutes we informed our server that we would like to wait in the lounge area to get more comfortable as I understand.... things happen. Although while we waited for about 20 minutes there were no offers of water or anything to make the wait less awkward (not to mention asking for payment without even presenting a bill). It felt like they were more focused on turning the table than making sure we were okay during the delay. Although maybe it was an awkward start to the morning. I will say our server did her best to work things out with the technology she was given. So, I still provided her a fair tip, not her fault. Value for Money... In terms of pricing, it felt pretty average overall, but there were a few eyebrow-raisers. For instance, the avocado toasted croissant--topped with over-easy eggs, baby spinach, and Grana Padano--was $19, which felt a bit steep for what it was. In comparison, a pork schnitzel dish was around $21. So, while the pricing wasn't outrageous, some items definitely made me pause and question the value. Overall Thoughts... In the end, my experience at Elliott's Craft Kitchen was a bit of a letdown. So I'm surprised by some of the reviews (maybe because it was not dinner). While there were a few highlights (like the fries and a well-made Old Fashioned), the service hiccups and the underwhelming dishes mean I'd probably think twice before going back. Definitely not for brunch but I would really consider Dinner after some more reviews. Hopefully they'll iron out the kinks as they get more established.

Great addition to the restaurant park in Columbia…read more We finally had a rare date night and decided to try this new spot. It was not crowded at 5pm so we were served very quickly. We enjoyed hot wings and bao buns as our appetizer and shared a black and blue burger for our meal. My dark and stormy was a great pick as well. Helpful attentive staff.
