Delightful lunch with a new friend on a chilly, blustery Thursday (5/21/26). It's a wide-open, airy place - which as I think about it, probably ensures no lingering fishy odor even on hot days ;) We were seated immediately, given a choice of open tables - there were quite a few at just after noon. Menus and drink orders were brought promptly. I chose the fish tacos, and our server - Casey - asked if I wanted the fish pan seared or blackened. We had a discussion over how many chips and salsa were served with it, because my friend wanted some with his veggie burger. We learned that the amount with an entrée is just right - about two handfuls - so we each had some, with my friend's being a substitution for fries. I almost can't find the words to describe those tacos! The fish was moist, perfectly seasoned and generously heaped in each taco. Often, tacos lean heavily on the veg elements but these had just the right amount of slaw. The flavor of the fish was so delicate and savory. Honestly, one taco was all I could manage. Although they were street taco sized, it was so filling. I only ate a handful of chips; they were good but nothing special, as was the tiny cup of salsa. My friend said his veggie burger was excellent, and he enjoyed the bit of chips and salsa as well. He just had water, while I tried a Corona NA. The bill was around $56, which is very reasonable. An impeccably run restaurant with attention to detail. I came here on a whim with two coworkers while in MD. We ordered a variety of dishes and we weren't super hungry when we arrived, but decided to share some apps and entrées. Surprisingly, even though we thought we ordered too much we ended up enjoying everything so much and did not feel stuffed - just had a small bit of food left over. The food is light and well seasoned without a lot of the heavy filler but portions are generous. Fresh ingredients prepared well and served with confidence. Also reasonable prices and we decided to splurge and split the brownie with ice cream at the end. One person in our party has multiple allergies and needs gluten-free options. The food was good. We got the soft shell crab sandwich and it was delicious, But someone needs to help them fix their process. When we asked about the specials, the waiter told me to look on the rotating screen/board, when asked about the fresh fish offers of the day, was told to check the rotating board, when asked what the market price was for the soft shell crab...you guessed it, was told to check the board again. Now I don't mind checking the board for information but it was a electronic rotating board and we had to wait for it to scroll to get to each of the options, Just let me know as this was such a waste of time when we had our baby with us and only 45 mins for lunch, The soft shell crab sandwich saved the day. read more

Updating with impressions of other dishes. Overall it is still great but I wasn't as happy with the sea scallops as I have been with other dishes (or with scallops elsewhere). They serve them "flash fried" instead of pan seared and this was not to their benefit: the scallops had a rubbery crust that was a bit overdone. The insides were fine but that overcooked edge brought them down. The mashed potatoes and spinach it comes with are good and the portions are multi-meal for my appetite but I would choose another dish. I also tried the watermelon mint mocktail and it is good though quite tart. Hubs loves the crab cake still and his bourbon/almond/amaretto cocktail. I won't downgrade the overall restaurant rating over one dish that is a miss but I strongly recommend they switch to a pan sear for their scallops in future. read more

This is a solid seafood restaurant. The space is large and has ample seating. We arrived and sat outside on their patio which you need to pass by to walk through the front door. Our server, Bianca, was great. Super friendly and attentive enough for our dining experience. We ordered the strawberry and pineapple margaritas for our cocktails. Then for apps we got their Calamari and Oysters Rockefeller. The oysters were good but the calamari was the highlight. They were crispy and we really enjoyed the two sauces they came in for dipping. For my main, I got their 4oz Connecticut Lobster Roll and my partner got their Shrimp Salad sandwich. The lobster had plenty of meat and was good but tasted more on the fishy side. Visited Hudson Coastal because I was in the mood for a lobster roll and saw they had one on the menu, so we had to check them out! The indoor decor definitely gives coastal beach vibes. The staff is super friendly and quick with service. Now for the food: Crab Dip: 10/10 Creamy, sizzling and full of crab. A Marylander's Dream. Lobster Roll: 10/10 I got the 4oz roll and I was still stuffed after eating. I got the Connecticut style, and the lobster was warm and buttery. It was so butter the bun got a little soggy, but it tasted so good and juicy I didn't mind. Would definitely get it again! My husband got the fish tacos and loved them. I've been so underwhelmed by restaurants lately but Hudson Coastal delivered for me. Walking in, the place smells like a Maryland seafood restaurant. I can't describe it but you know what I mean if you know what I mean. I got the Bethany Beach club sandwich. It was delicious and filling! Granted the crab cake wasn't lump crab meat. So that was a little disappointing because it kind of smashed in the sandwich when I bit into it but it was still tasty. I'll be back soon. read more

Outstanding! Came here on a whim looking for a good place to have lunch and left knowing that I'll be back as often as feasible. Great prices, great food, excellent service and just a beautiful a place to eat. The decor was as nice as everything else. And the food for what we got was incredibly reasonably priced. I had a cup of the Maryland crab soup and it was delicious it was filled with lots of crab meat a delicious broth and lots of vegetables. I then had a sandwich that I've had at other seafood restaurants in the area a club sandwich called the Bethany Beach which had a crab cake, shrimp salad, bacon lettuce and tomato and it was delicious. I could hardly wrap my mouth around the sandwich it was so big. I opted for fries instead of potato chips and the fries were delicious. My friends who are with me had a cup of the cream of crab soup which looked delicious and he had the shrimp flatbread to go with it which not only look delicious but tasted the same and the shrimp were like in like a scampi sauce. My other friend had the lox BLT which was truly unique and truly something that she loved and would have gotten again. She paired it with the grilled corn on the cob instead of the chips and that looked very good. Our waiter was Alex and he was phenomenal. The speed of our appetizers and our food came out at a nice pace and after we ordered he brought out these delicious muffins with orange and we quickly gobbled them up. Alex checked on us regularly and gave us his thoughts on the top things he enjoyed on the menu so we could make our decisions. All in all, a great lunch, and I can't wait to go back. It's all in the attitude! We went with business guests and are very unhappy how we were treated. We ordered broiled snapper. The fish came out dry as a bone. This is not an inexpensive meal. We talked with the manager about the fish and the flatbreads being soggy. We were surprised by the lack of sincerity from the manager. It was somehow my fault that I ordered it broiled and not baked. Hudson Coastal has some standards on the menu but what makes it special is the nightly listing of 3 or 4 kinds of fish caught locally (for the most part). The fish can be prepared a number of ways, blackened, broiled, pan-seared and more. There are also a listing of oysters each day and they are always terrific. Service has always been great here. I've been wanting to check this place out since I noticed it when visiting this shopping center in Fulton. We were craving seafood one weekend and decided to check it out. We had the raw oysters to start for the appetizer. I got the crab cobb salad for my entree and a strawberry mojito for my drink. The mojito could have used more mint. The seafood was very fresh which is the most important aspect of this restaurant. The oysters were delicious my favorite of everything. There was a nice amount of crab in the salad that I ordered. The crab fries were a miss though. A point off because the staff seemed a new/inexperienced. The hostess did not know what do to with a booster seat and tried to stack it on top of a high chair.. As soon as we sat down the waiter asked what we wanted to eat. Did not even start with drink orders. I am deeply disappointed with my experience tonight at Hudson Coastal. I have dined here for years and supported a local establishment. When we arrived it was pretty empty. We watched as tables of white patrons who came in after us were immediately served and offered water. After 15 minutes and watching waitresses walk by our table we finally asked if we would be waited on. We left! My son and I came here on a Saturday afternoon. Not too many people here and we were able to choose our seating. I thought it was going to be fancy inside, but they have a chill vibe and welcoming. Once we found our seats a waiter came over and gave us menus, and since this was our first time there, they explained the menu, the fresh catch of the day, and offered us complimentary muffins which were tasty. We got the crab dip for an appetizer. It was good and piping hot with bread for dipping. For my entree, I ordered scallops with red skin mashed potatoes, and spinach. The scallops were a nice size and cooked to perfection. My son got the crab cake which he said was delicious and meaty without a lot of filler. My only con is the mojito I ordered. This restaurant had fresh oysters from Massachusetts and Maine. They were salty and briny! Loved it. The Tuna nachos were really good, but a bit difficult to eat in shape. Came here during lunch, the restaurant was not busy. That being said the service was great and I really enjoyed the ambience. This place reminds me of a coastal flats type of vibe. I ordered some oysters and a burger. The oysters were tasty and seemed very fresh, which I enjoyed. The crush specials were superb and do not miss the mussels with lobster tarragon sauce. You will not find a better seafood experience in the DC area and you don't have to go downtown to enjoy an outstanding dining experience. My husband has been raving about the Seafood Burger served at Hudson Coastal for years. I never realized how close it was to my job until one of my coworkers mentioned the restaurant in passing. This week, I was finally able to give them a try. They do not offer online ordering, but you can call in your order for pick-up. The gentlemen who took my order was friendly and the great customer service continued when I arrived to the restaurant to pick-up my order. While I didn't eat my meal inside the venue, I took the time to appreciate their beach-like décor. I especially liked the outdoor seating, which is my personal preference for dining on a nice day. As pictured, I order the Seafood burger with the housemade potato chips. The burger consisted of shrimp, haddock and cod which a zesty remoulade sauce on the side. While I enjoyed the burger, I felt like it was missing something, maybe some onions or a pickle on the side. I am sure that I can ask for extra fixing to give the sandwich a bit more pizzazz. Last night was my first experience with Hudson Coastal. My wife and I met another couple who were also dining there for the first time. Our test of any seafood joint is their crab dip. My test is their fish and chips. The dip was warm but not hot. And the amount of bread provided would only work if one heaped dip on the slices. The fish and chips were an expensive dish at 27.50 and a unique presentation. The fish was one big battered filet atop fries and next to a unique slaw of super greens, broccoli and horseradish sauce. My expectations with this dish: crispy fish and chips. While some fries were crispy, the fish and slaw nullifies those beneath them. The batter on the fish was not crispy. It was thin and mostly detached from the fish when eaten. This wasn't unpleasant but not the tastiest battered fish I've had. The server fulfilled our order quickly but he never filled my glass of water. He did refill other beverages but not the water. Lastly, he gave an impression of not wanting to be there. Maybe he was having a bad day and was just going through the motions. The ambiance of the location isn't exceptional nor is it terrible. The noise level can get loud and the mood lighting is too low to read the menu easily. I can't say that a return visit will happen nor would I recommend this location to anyone. read more

Back with another one ... First up for my App the Calamari and 6 of the Shooting Point Salt Oysters fresh from Chincoteague VA ... the oysters change based on the day. The oysters were big and I can taste the freshness .. be sure to mix the horse radish in the cocktail sauce and the vinegar with the onions add a flare to the taste. The calamari did what they were suppose to do , I added more season but they were cooked perfectly ... For my entree I seafood burger which is shrimp and fish as a patty on a brioche bun ... and added the crabby fries ... the seafood burger was a little mushy if that's the correct word and under-seasoned ... not terrible but doubt I'll get it again ... on the other hand the crabby fries were bussin ... I also added the lobster tarragon sauce and it took them up a notch and they were already good. We went to Hudson Coastal last night and realized it was still Happy Hour. We reviewed the HH menu and placed our order. Well we tried and were told they were out of Red Blend, then they were out of Michelob Ultra, and then they were out of Bud Light. There is a liquor store several doors down from the restaurant there's no reason to be out of anything. Our server/bartender seemed off of their A game and in a rush so much so that we gave up on ordering more than what we wanted. We were going to order dessert.
