Tucked toward the back off Old Annapolis Rd., it sits in a standalone building with parking both in the front and along the side. Service was prompt and friendly. I was dining with two companions who opted for lighter fare. Their salads were fresh with dressings that tasted house-made. My Roasted Beet Salad was particularly good -- generous portions of red and golden beets over arugula with goat cheese and butternut squash, finished with a mustard-poppy seed vinaigrette that nicely tied the flavors together. Both the Baby Seasonal Salad and Baby Salmon Salad were well received with no complaints from the table. We shared a large portion of Apple Crisp topped with vanilla ice cream, which made a perfect ending to lunch. The menu leans toward familiar stand-by favorites, which likely explains why this restaurant continues to draw loyal customers. I have been to Leelynns many times. I live in the neighborhood and if you live in Dorsey, it is a staple. The outdoor seating is great in the warmer season and the food is good. They also have a great happy hour. This time I ordered take out with my family. Most of us get the large quesadilla appetizer as our meal. I promise you, it is the best quesadilla around. So many fresh good ingredients, the sauce is good, and it's not greasy or over cheesed. Tonight I changed it up and got the powerhouse sandwich, but asked for it to be a wrap. It was delicious! Our waitress was great - offered suggestions, tried to make a bad entree better, and checked in the appropriate amount of times. The food was disappointing. It was recommended that we try the mix of the Maryland crab and cream of crab soup -- served tepid/slightly warm in the middle. My sister said her crab cake was flavorless. Loved the concept. Eating outside was great, til it downpours. Loved the people. Food was not my favorite. Had the meatloaf and didn't like it. The chorizo with corn beef and ground beef, gravy and cheese didn't jive with me. Most stayed on the plate and made its way back inside. That is the downfall of trying new things. Came here on a Fri.Evening. I came once and sat at the bar. This time I got the dining experience. Its was almost a full house, we were seated quickly. The server was very nice and friendly and hooked us up with a better table than what the host placed us at. I feel like the menu was limited like almost what you would find at other local similar restaurants. The presentation and food was overall good. My first time at Leelynn's Dining Room and Lounge. We didn't have reservations but were seated right away. They have an outdoor dining area and indoor too with a bar area. Our server was Stacey and she was very friendly and helped me with my wine selection. I ordered a shrimp platter, my significant other ordered the burger and our fiend ordered the shrimp salad on a wrap. I didn't get a picture of my shrimp salad but it was beautifully plated and the shrimp salad was a generous portion. It was really good and I enjoyed each bite. APPETIZERS: Chickpea tahini hummus (happy hour menu) was so delicious. Definitely recommend, great for sharing. Calamari was tasty as well. MAINS: Twin chicken breast was good, scallop and bacon flatbread was a little underwhelming. BBQ ribs dish was very big. I didn't find a ton of options I liked on the entree menu, but they have a ton of sandwich and salad options if you're into that. DESSERT: I saw good things about the house-made apple crisp on Yelp, and it didn't disappoint - it was the perfect blend of cool ice cream with warm, nutty crisp. The raspberry tiramisu/tres leches cake (special) was also yummy. A lot of their desserts looked good - I'll definitely be back to try more. I'm being forced to go to Lee Lynn's by our birthday group, birthday guy's wife insisted. Every time there I have been very disappointed and would put it as the last place to go on my list. Last time there about a year ago it was terrible. Crab cake was full of filler and the cost was fluffed up too, fries were cold and wife's meal was inedible. She ordered a salad and it was not good. So to appease our friends that love the place we'll go again. Prices are appropriate for an upscale restaurant which Lee Lynns is far from. The restaurant was divided into three or four sections. Two were indoor and two were outdoor. Very fun decorations on walls and backyard looked comfortable and nice. We had lunch and the crab meat (MP $35) was so awesome which my husband loved it. Mine was steak salad, I got many kinds of veggies in it and was tasty too. For coffee, I was a bit surprised that they Don't Do any FUNCY ones, only traditional American coffee but I had a decaf one. Maybe it is great to keep all things in a simple way. We asked for some help with the menu and settled on the chicken panini/sandwich from the specials. It was perfectly prepared. (Sometimes chicken breast can by too dry, not this one) plenty of flavor accompanied by a heaping pile of tasty chips. Good selection of beers on tap and bottles. Wife enjoyed a Crush(s) that they offer in a few flavors. I almost forgot about the remarkable dessert, Taharka Brothers Ice Cream-Pie from the specials menu will make you want to lick the plate. They also have different rooms an"d patios. The night we were there it was too hot for us to enjoy the great outdoor areas. Rough coming in on a Thursday night. The parking lot was pretty packed when I arrived so though it must have been good food. The lot is very small but there is a medical building right next door with ample parking in the evening when it's closed. It looks like a old house from the outside. They have a nice looking patio that would be great for outside dinning when the weather improves. It was a little hectic when I checked in with the hostess. Big red flag but she said there was only a short wait so I decided to stick around. After she checked and found a open table I was seated. There was a couple next to me that asked the hostess where the wait was was and she told them she would check. After they waited for a few more minutes they decided to leave. I remained hopeful and didn't know how long they had waited. After waiting for 16 min after never seeing a waitress I decided to cut my losses and go elsewhere. Looks like senior citizens love this place because there were a lot of the silver foxes dinning pit. They much have. Been taken advantage of the happy hour special. 1/2 off certain appetizers and house wines. It runs from 3-6. Omg, Leelyn's burger is a MUST if you come here. My husband said it's the best burger in Columbia and one of the best he's ever had. It's due to a combo of reasons - the bacon, garlic mayo, crispy onion straws, brioche roll, and the juiciness and moistness of the beef. We also got the crab cake which was good as well, but small for $21. They have patio seating which was very popular today and they have a garden with beautiful blooming flowers. I am sure it's beautiful at night with the rope lights. Our server, Karen, was friendly and asked if we needed anything when she delivered our food, but we both agreed that she should have checked on us afterwards. I actually had to flag her down to get our check. My husband thought this would be a great spot for a night out with friends on a fall night. This will be our go to spot for burgers. This order was for take-out: I ordered the Steak Salad and added on a mini crab cake. It normally comes with a balsamic vinaigrette but I chose the poppyseed mustard vinaigrette because I wanted something slightly different since I was also going to eat it with the crab cake too. I absolutely LOVED my salad. It was perfect in every way possible. Thick slices of steak cooked perfectly to the temp I requested with the blue cheese crumbles, crispy onion straws, roasted asparagus and halved cherry tomatoes. Everything was in perfect harmony and the flavors and textures just danced in my mouth. I love salads but it's so hard for me to find one that I really like or that really stands out. THIS one definitely stands out to me. I literally could eat this EVERYDAY! Also ordered the wings seasoned with Old Bay and their cream of crab. The wings were seasoned right but the meat inside was really dry and the cream of crab was a bit heavy on the sherry with not as much crab as I had hoped for. We placed the order online at 5:50pm and arrived around 6:35pm. We got our food around 6:45pm. It was a Saturday night and although it initially said about 20 min when placing the order, the follow up emails said "we received your order, please give us a moment to review and accept." Then I got another email with the confirmation saying that it will take about 5 min to get to the kitchen so I took that as a hint and didn't rush over or expect to get it soon. So yeah, you might have to wait so plan ahead especially if it's a weekend during prime time dinner. Don't forget they still have to cater to their dine-in diners too. Happy eating! read more
