    Cucumber melon refresher
    Tamryn H.

Off the bat, the interior is super cute. It's more spacious than it appears from the outside, and had strong Victorian theming. They say you can tell how good a restaurant is based off of their simplest dish. The mozzarella pearls were absolutely delicious. The bread-to-cheese ratio was just right, and their portions were generous. If anything, the sauce was slightly too sweet, but I think it complemented the pearl's seasoning well. I got the oysters Rockefeller and I think they might be the best I've had in Maryland. They fell right off the shell and they weren't gritty. They truly took care while cleaning. My partner got a latte, the cucumber melon refresher, and I got the basil buck. They were super well, balanced, and indeed extremely refreshing. You taste the freshness of the fruit they used in both drink, but no alcohol (which I prefer). For entrees, I got the turkey avocado sandwich and upgraded to duck fat fries, and my partner got victoria's fish and chips. my partner said that for the price, the portions were a bit small and the fish was greasy, heavier than they would have liked. For me, the turkey avocado was tasty, however, it was a little too much meat for me and I found it hard to finish. I fear, that the fries have now changed my life, and I will never be able to eat regular fries again. The duck fat made them feel less greasy than normal, they were seasoned well and definitely addicting! I'll be back, and when I do, I'm beelining for the poutine.

This place is great. They have an amazing menu that has some seasonal offerings as well. The staff is friendly and the ambiance is relaxed while giving an upscale pub feel. I got the fish sandwich and it was to die for. I've had other dishes that have been tasty here too and when I am in the area I always consider stopping by.

All of the food was delicious. Each meal had good flavor, good portions, and good happy hour deals. Victorias is a great place for a dinner out, date night, or any kind of occasion. Prices are reasonable for the quality you get. The chocolate pecan cake was absolutely fantastic. My only complaint is that the kids menu is not for kids. Looking at the menu the options are fine, but the pizza uses spicy sauce, the chicken nuggets are overly crispy and adult-ish, and the fish and chips is just a smaller portion of the adult version. The fish is overly identifiable for a kid. Perhaps this is my picky eaters, but the kids menu is for a near adult kid in my opinion.

Finally stopped into Victorias on a weekend this winter! It's right by the house I moved into and I'm so excited about being in proximity to this establishment! The restaurant interior feels like a tavern, lots of wood but tasteful decor and a homey vibe. The bar is spacious and they've made the dining room feel more private with dividers which I liked. The bathrooms were clean! The mozzarella balls were delicious and the portion was massive. After 8 cheese balls I barely had room for my dinner! My boyfriend enjoyed his steak and I liked my sandwich. Our server was attentive and the food came out pretty fast! I'd love to return as I know they have some great beers and ciders on tap! Can't wait to try more of their expansive menu.

It's been a while since I've had a Sunday-Funday. Was looking to go out with some friends but ended up having a solo Sunday. Since I came out pretty late I went to Victoria Gaston Pub for Happy Hour. It's a nice size restaurant with a cool bar area. On Sundays they also have Breakfast from 10am-2pm and Happy Hour from 2pm-Close. A few things I tried were the Banana Pie Waffles: Really good, but Really Really Sweet. Recommend sharing or getting a side of bacon to break the sweetness with something salty. Crab stuffed Deviled Eggs: more like of Crab topped deviled eggs. Really good filling and the Oldbay chips are a good topping. Cafe Victoria Brunch Cocktail, it's a hot drink.. it doesn't say that on the menu. It's good but I would order it at the end of my meal as a dessert Cocktail because it's sweet. The Port Authority was my favorite of the cocktails. It's Bourbon, Tawny Port, Cherry Brandy. Alcohol taste with a bit of sweetness. If you're an Old Fashioned fan and want to try something different but not too far off I think this is a good one to try. The bartender let me try the Nitro Espresso Martini as it's in tap. Tasty but basic Espresso Martini to me. Things I want to try on my next visit: Dubai Chocolate Tart, Pancake Charcuterie, Duck Fat Reuben, Mocha Boulevardier Cocktail ... it's Rye based and the Pear & Honey N/A Mule. I feel bad because I only remember one bartenders name... Jason.. both were great, but hes a great bartender.. Friendly, makes good drinks, not too over bearing but attentive...ask for him when you visit.

It's a nice pub. Pretty busy for weekday. Food and service were great. Oysters just so perfect. Fresh. And meaty. Salad with steak - steak cooked just how i liked it. Grits with shrimp looked delicious on my partners plate. Def a cool spot for a simple dinner/ lunch.

used to come here many years ago they have the best dirty martinis and duck fat fries martinis with blue cheese and lobster Mac and cheese grilled cheese service is phenomenal and is definitely beautiful in here. Highly recommended. The ambience is absolutely stunning. It is the best Irish pub you will find around.

Tasty, well made food! Only certain menu items appealed to me, so I got them for lunch as a carry out. Their paprika fries were SO good and I'm selective and don't care much for fries, but they had a great crunch, seasoning, and were just perfect. The Blackened Fish Tacos were good and better than what I was expecting- good flavor. The fish from the Fish & Chips was way too salty for my liking, but it had good breading it probably was my least favorite item due to the high sodium content. The crispy Brussel sprouts in the orange soy vinaigrette was chefs kiss. In the past, I tried a bite of their famous Chocolate Praline Cake which was heavenly. Overall, they do a great job in the food and you can tell the menu items while simple, have thought put into the flavor and execution of the dishes.

I used to frequent VCP when I worked nearby, and haven't been back for a few years. We were in the area doing a little shopping and I was really excited to stop in for lunch over the weekend! The inside decor is gorgeous, the dark wood gives it a warm, cozy, timeless feel, and the decorations make you feel like you're in a palace - especially those big wooden doors leading to the patio area. Our service was a little on the slow side but our server was super friendly and attentive. It was a weekend and not super packed, so we were happy to sip our espresso martinis and wait a bit. For lunch, I had the American Dip and absolutely loved it. It was a twist on a French dip with a delicious pesto, the bread was delicious and not too crunchy, and the meat was super tender. My husband had the Angus Black Burger with all the fixings and bleu cheese and he crushed it, it was barely on his plate before it was gone. Love VCP and the food is some of the best American you'll find in the area!

It has been a minute since I have visited Victoria's Gastro Pub. The bar is fully stocked and there is a generous dining area. On this visit, I tried the hot-honey baked 1/2 chicken with waffles and cream spinach. The chicken was tender and juicy. The hot-honey glaze had a little heat and was sweet. The waffle with honey or syrup was an unexpected nice touch. The creamy spinach was to creamy from me. In all, the meal was great and that 1/2 chicken was awesome.

This place used to be my stomping ground for HH and dinner. However, the quality of food ain't as good as it used to be. These are just two pictures I saved but I've had numerous meals where it wasn't the same. Service is always good and ambiance is still nice. I think they need to upkeep the quality of food to compete with some other nice restaurants

Victoria is a pretty solid brunch and lunch spot. I've been here before a long time ago for drinks but recently came back for lunch with a friend. Our server was friendly and to start, I got their Bubbles and Berries cocktail which tasted pretty flat. My second drink was their Blueberry Lavender Bees Knees which tasted a lot better. My friend enjoyed his Margarita which was pretty solid. For food, I ordered their French Onion Short Rib Melt with duck fat fries and my friend got their Avocado Toast. My sandwich tasted great and the fries were crispy. It was a really good meal and great to check out again.

What's not to like about this place??? It has fun and comfortable atmosphere , attentive service, delicious food with seasonal variations, large drinks selections, in addition - price is not bad at all. Love to come here for a relaxing date night or gathering with friends. We always have a good time.

By the way the most unique and different thing for me was BAIJIU! This is the first time I heard and tast! It's strong and tasty. The an other most important thing was, I was the winner for the event! I won the bottle of Oversea Baijiu. Because of my video that I share at instagram I am glad Oversea Distillery and Bar only 10 minutes away from my house! BAIJIU: (pronounced bye-jyo) is a traditional, clear Chinese distilled spirit. Literally translating to "white liquor," it is typically distilled from fermented grains like sorghum, rice, or wheat and ranges from 35% to 60% ABV. As the world's most consumed spirit, it boasts a history spanning millennia How It's MadeUnlike most Western spirits, baijiu relies on qu, a unique starter culture of crushed grains packed with active molds and yeasts. This culture simultaneously converts grain starches into sugars and ferments those sugars into alcohol--a process called solid-state fermentation. The mash is then traditionally distilled in clay or stone pots. Just like wine or whiskey, baijiu isn't a single flavor. It is categorized into four primary styles, though many sub-varieties exist: Strong Aroma: Sweet and pungent with fruity and spicy notes (e.g., Wuliangye). Sauce Aroma: Complex and savory, often likened to soy sauce, fermented vegetables, or dark chocolate (e.g., Kweichow Moutai). Light Aroma: Crisp, clean, and floral, similar to sake or high-end vodka. Rice Aroma: Mild, slightly sweet, and floral, closely resembling other Asian grain spirits like shochu.

When we arrived, there were only a few people there and we were able to get a drink order in right away and they brought it to our table fairly quickly. But then the crown arrived and there were lines 10 people deep just to get an order in. Food (which we didn't order) was a nightmare; there were people's orders behind the bar for over 30 minutes just getting cold because they were too busy to figure out where the people were and no one was coming up to check on their orders. I waited in line for over half an hour just to close my tab. I'd recommend paying with each order... The drinks were not bad - the spirits (which are not made there) are decent, but are primarily mixers. They do sell bottles, but I didn't get any (granted I am a whiskey snob...). The music was WAY too loud and the DJ was just awful - he had zero personality whatsoever. My adult kids were the ones who wanted to bail, not us! Hope the next time is better...

My wife and I decided to check out the speakeasy upstairs. I wish they had longer hours; as of this writing, they are only open from 8:00 p.m. until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Does that exclusivity add to the mystique? A bit, yes? Does that make it less likely for me to return any time soon? Also yes. The ladies behind the bar and the owner were upstairs chilling and greeted us as soon as we ascended the steep staircase. The dimly-lit Chambers has a lot more space to sit than I had anticipated, so you could come with a bunch of friends. There are tables, but also couches and lounge chairs. True to the speakeasy vibe, they have a bunch of signature cocktails, but they also make classic cocktails and likewise serve wines and beer. We had hoped to get a little food. It's mostly small-plates of food to pick at. The charcuterie plate sounded good, but the one bartender said it would take 15-20 minutes to prepare (surprising, because we were the only ones in there) and we had already kept our babysitter waiting too long, so we just did drinks. I got one of the seasonal signatures - the "What'd I say?" which had a citrusy boozy thing going for it, sort of reminiscent of a Sidecar. My wife got something warm, like an apple toddy. It was a bit too sweet for me, but otherwise tasted great! As mentioned, I wish they had longer hours. They've only been open two years, so maybe someday they'll expand beyond late-night on the weekend. When I finally stopped by, I actually enjoyed myself. I liked the atmosphere, the energy, and the overall vibe. I even thought it was somewhere I would return to regularly, especially after learning that it was a black-owned business. As someone who intentionally supports black-owned businesses whenever possible, I was excited to have discovered a new place to support. Unfortunately, that changed at the end of the night. As closing time approached, I was standing with a glass of wine in my hand when, to my surprise, a member of the security staff (tall African American man with locs) randomly walked up to me and took the drink directly out of my hand. There was no "Excuse me." No "Ma'am, we're closing, I'll give you a few seconds to finish your drink, then you have to leave." No polite request to finish my drink and make my way out. Nothing! I completely understand that businesses have closing times. That is not my issue. My issue is the complete lack of respect and professionalism in the way the situation was handled. There was absolutely no reason for anyone to remove a drink from my hand without first speaking to me. A simple conversation would have accomplished the exact same result. Instead, the interaction felt rude, unnecessary, disrespectful, and honestly insulting. What bothered me most was how easily the situation could have been handled differently. A customer who is calmly standing with a drink in her hand should not be treated as though she is incapable of understanding a simple request. Respectful communication costs nothing! As someone who makes a conscious effort to support black-owned businesses, this experience was especially disappointing. I walked into The Hideout wanting to support the establishment and left feeling more disrespected than I have ever felt at any business I have patronized. After sharing my experience with a few individuals, I was surprised to learn that more than one person reported having negative interactions with the same security guard. I can only speak to my own experience, but hearing similar stories from others makes me wonder whether this behavior is an ongoing issue rather than an isolated incident. It is unfortunate that the actions of one employee completely changed my perception of what otherwise appeared to be a great establishment. One employee's behavior was enough to ensure that I will not return. I do not spend my money where I am treated with disrespect, spoken down to, or handled as though I am a child! I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously because no customer should be treated this way. Respect is the bare minimum when interacting with paying customers, and this entire situation could have been avoided with a simple, polite request. Please train your staff to do better!

That kind of vibe changes everything and makes you want to hang out longer. Game On knows exactly what it is and leans all the way in. Fun first, good food, playful drinks, great energy. We'll be back.

Food: please try the crab dip pretzels, they were 5/5! In terms of the wings: the size for a $1/wing Monday special (starting at 20 wing orders) was great, but I wanted more buffalo sauce on my buffalo wings. The buffalo garlic parm mix was awesome (you can mix and match flavors), and the sweet heat was also 5/5. Please add a lemon pepper option! Service: 5/5 server was personable and attentive for my party of 9, no issues at all. Ambiance: for sports, this place is solid; there are a bunch of TVs, even one in the bathroom so you don't miss a single play! This place is family-friendly, and there was this one group of kids that was super rowdy but otherwise the ambiance was great. Not too crowded.

Plenty of TVs for a sports bar vibe. I saw a deck outside but the threat of rain kept us indoors. The food is what you want for a bar food menu. I had the Pub Burger with fries (Thurs special $15) it hit the spot. My wife went with the Horseradish steak wrap. She ate half and brought the rest home for lunch tomorrow. There was a decent Thursday night crowd. We got there an hour before the NFL season kickoff. Next time I come will be for the Monday wing special. 20 wings $20, dine on or take out. Can't beat that
