I want to thank Pat for his diligence and care in first servicing my four mini split units, but then addressing a condensation problem by installing a new pump on one unit. On top of that, Pat saw that the housing on the same unit was cracked in a few places and the door did not open/close smoothly. I contacted this company for a second opinion on an issue with my HVAC unit. When I called to schedule, I was told it would be a $75 diagnostic fee and $70 per hour for labor, which was cheaper than another company I had already spoken with. That is the only reason I chose to have them come out. The technician arrived, diagnosed a completely different issue than what the first company had told me, and then quoted me $450 + diagnostic cost + coolant cost for the repair--even though he had already found the leak. When I asked how it could possibly cost that much if their labor rate was $70 per hour, he said the office would call me to explain. When the office called, I was told that the $70 per hour was a "warranty price" and that for this issue it was a different price per hr. At no point during the initial call was this distinction made. I was understandably concerned about the lack of transparency, and when I repeatedly reminded them that I chose their company because of the hourly rate they gave me, the person on the phone became rude and defensive. I then asked to speak with the owner. When he called, I explained the situation from the beginning. Instead of listening and trying to resolve the issue, he became rude as well and said to me, "Under any circumstances here are you wrong?" I was shocked. I told him that his company had quoted me one price and then changed it after I'd already scheduled and had the technician come out, wasting everyone's time. He insisted that their labor price had "never" been what I was quoted, yet he had no explanation for why two different people from his own company had told me that number. When I asked directly what their actual fee was, he still would not give me a straight answer. The lack of transparency about pricing and the dismissive, disrespectful attitude from both the office and the owner were absolutely unacceptable. I was treated as if I was the problem simply for questioning a bait-and-switch type situation. I would not recommend this company to anyone who values honesty, clear communication, and basic respect. read more

One star is generous. I called diversified, to have my evaporative cooler summer ready; my husband used to take care of that-- he passed away. I assumed that the cooler might need freshing up, but the serviceman said, I only needed a belt. Next month it had stopped cooling; they replaced the pump. Next month, the house was like a furnace, they replaced the pads. I recently had to replace my air conditioning. I contacted 3 places for a quote. The first place never showed up. The second wanted a 50% deposit which is actually against the law. And they did not have a license. I also contacted Diversified Heating & Cooling. Corey arrived on time to take a look and do the quote which he did while there. He did not try to push me into saying yes right away. A week later I let him know that I would like to go ahead. That was on a Friday. On Tuesday morning they arrived to do the work. All of the workers were friendly and hard working. The whole job was done in a day. They cleaned up everything and took away the old equipment. Had them over this month to locate and repair the coolant leak in my mini split system, charge it back up with refrigerant, tidy up the line sets and add metal covers over them. $2400 for one guy out there for 4 hours. These guys really are stellar. I had them come out to service my cooler on the roof. I usually do it myself, but I am unable to climb a ladder right now, and the weather is warming up. Now I am questioning why I never called them to do the annual service in the first place since they did install it quite a few years back. All of the grief and trips to home depot for parts, I am kicking myself for not calling them sooner. Paul was the tech. Strike 3: Diversified cancelled an appointment they made for me on the morning they were scheduled to come out, *after* the service start time, and then offered me a replacement date -- in a month. At no point did the words "I'm sorry" come from the mouths of the two people I talked to. Strike 2: For an earlier service call, their front office had assured me that they had experience with my heat pump models. I checked and double-checked, and they rather dismissively assured me they had experience -- which was untrue. Strike 1: Last, for another call I had scheduled Paul for a tricky job, since he is an excellent, thoughtful technician with more the 35 years experience. They agreed, then swapped him for an inexperienced tech who had never seen 'anything like' the model I double-checked with their office. read more

AVOID!!! Back in October I checked my heater and it wasn't working. I had Diversified come and they diagnosed the problem and said they would arrange a time to come out and fix the problem. I waited and waited and finally one day out of the blue a different guy showed up. Ok. He asked me what had happened when the first guy showed up and what he had said and seemed completely confused about what was going on and why he was there. He got on the roof and did some stuff for about an hour and then told me that not only what they had diagnosed earlier was a problem but that I needed an entirely new thermostat system. Great. So, he said they will contact me as soon as the thermostat comes in. I waited a week and then called them to see what the problem was. They didn't know why it wasn't there but assured me that they would find out and get right back to me. They didn't. A couple days later I called again. Same routine. At that point I started calling about every few days. Each time I called, they seemed completely confused and acted as if it was my first time calling. They would say they would call me and never did. Another week and more of me calling them and the same clown routine. Yet another week and again the same clown routine. Finally, at the end of four weeks another guy randomly showed up at my house. Fine. I was used to their scatter brained service at that point. And again, it was the same ordeal. He was confused as to what he was supposed to do and what the people before him had done and the only person he could ask was me. What the hell do I know? I'm the customer! The guy finished and he said they will send me a bill. Not what I wanted and inconvenient but whatever. By this time it was early November. Come late December, the bill arrived in my mailbox. It's holidays, crunch time at work, and Christmas. December 28, I put the bill in the mail. That same day they called to tell me I have an overdue bill from November. I told them I got their invoice a week or so ago and the check is in the mail. She got upset and was concerned the check won't get to them before the end of the year and goes on to accuse me of not paying them when they sent me an email invoice. However, back here in reality, they never sent me an email which she discovered when she tried to make this my fault. She said they never got my email address. Not my fault. She continued to make this situation out to be my fault and even said that when I didn't receive a bill right away that I should have called them. Seriously? I let her know I didn't appreciate her trying to make this out to be my fault but she doubled down and continued to play it off as I had done something wrong. I asked if she was a professional or not and she responded with a threat that she'd put a lien against my home "because she's a professional." Obviously, she can't do shit and is trying to cover the moronic buffoonery over there. So, yeah, if you want a job to take a month, have guys show up at your house without calling first, ask you to tell them what they're doing there, have the inconvenience of not being able to pay right away, wait for over six weeks to receive your bill right before Christmas, and then be accused of wrongdoing and threatened for doing nothing more than putting a check in the mail, then these are your people! read more
