That guy has the steadiest hands ever." 100% true I've been told that, at LEAST that many times. Somebody said I was "lit" and started taking pictures. I'm not into leg selfies, but now I'm stuck here, having my leg fetishized by weirdos. Another tattoo artist said "that looks like it was printed on your leg. Amazing work." So, ef off, Paxman. I trusted him with exact placement after giving him a general idea. He walked me through the pricing and I felt it was fair for the piece and placement. He got to work quickly and efficiently. After a few minutes I think we both warmed up and he was super nice and easy to talk to. My tattoo is healing perfectly a week later (see pic) and looks great! My sister and I decided to have a girls' day and ended up visiting this piercing and tattoo shop downtown. There is quite a bit of construction in the area, which made getting to the parking lot a little difficult, but as locals, we completely understand that this is sometimes unavoidable and it wasn't an issue for us. Unfortunately, our experience inside the shop was less positive. When we first walked in, we received very little acknowledgment and did not feel particularly welcomed. I recognized the owner from social media and noticed her sitting on a couch in the studio working on a project. A male employee eventually asked how he could assist us, but his overall demeanor came across as noticeably unwelcoming. I was interested in getting a Medusa piercing and had a few reasonable questions about how it might work with my anatomy. I also asked if I could see the specific jewelry I would be pierced with because I wanted to make sure the size and style would be appropriate for my face. I had to ask several times before he brought the jewelry out for me to see. Once he did, I was actually very happy with the piece and appreciated being able to see it beforehand. My questions, however, seemed to be met with visible frustration, which made me feel uncomfortable asking for clarification about a permanent modification to my face. While he was retrieving the jewelry, my sister and I tried making conversation with the owner. We asked whether she had any suggestions for my sister, who already has several facial piercings, and what she personally thought might look cute or be popular right now. We were simply looking for her professional or personal opinion and were not asking her to create anything custom. I ultimately decided to get my piercing, and I am happy with the jewelry and the piercing itself. My sister, however, was so uncomfortable with the overall customer service that she decided not to get anything done. I also feel it is important to mention that we are both African-American women. I cannot say what anyone's intentions were, and I do not want to make an accusation that I cannot substantiate. However, throughout our visit, we both had the uncomfortable feeling that we were not particularly welcomed or that we didn't quite belong in the space. That feeling is difficult to ignore when you are spending money at a business and simply trying to feel comfortable and respected as a customer. The shop itself is very cute, hip, whimsical, and fun, and I genuinely wanted to have a great experience there. I simply wish the customer service had felt more welcoming and inclusive. A little patience, warmth, and willingness to answer questions would have made a significant difference in our experience.

My daughter in law thought it would be cool for us to all get matching tattoos to commemorate my birthday and our trip. Almost everyone in our group was "in", including my 80 year old mom. I had never had a tattoo before so I had some anxiety. Smurf put me at ease and within 3 hours or so, we had all gotten our matching tattoos. We showed up at our appointment time and were greeted right away by Nathalie and Edna. They were very informative about the process and the jewelry they sell. We let them know what piercings we wanted and they were able to show us the earrings that went with each of our piercings. Once we chose them we signed our waivers, which had the price of the piercing listed. While you do this they create their sterile field but sterilizing everything including the earring(s) that you chose at the beginning. They even let you visualize the jewelry with a transparent sample stick on the area you are choosing to get pierced at. Edna pierced my ear and she is amazing. She made this experience great for me and I told her I was a bit nervous since I haven't gotten a piercing in years. We talked about the anatomy of my ear and she assured me that the pain would not be too bad (she was right! Lol) She helped me choose the spot on my ear and then vocalized what she was doing from start to finish and at the end of the day I felt like the process was easier than I made it out to be. They have a one time $25 fee + the fee for the piercing + jewelry you chose. Prices seem reasonable to me! They have promotions as well if you keep coming back. All in all, pleased with my experience and would come here again! Super cute too because they let you choose a sticker at the end and the one I chose made my day.

DO NOT choose Joseph Barrios as your artist. The Shop seems awesome, as well as the other artists…read more But unfortunately - this is the only way I can warn customers of Joseph. He is terrible! If you ask him a question about the tattoo AT ALL - he will cancel it day of! We went in for a consult and discussed the tattoo. We put down our deposit. He told us that if we had questions or wanted changes the day of the tattoo we could do that. He put the stencil on and we told him we LOVED it - my husband asked a total of 2 questions about the shape and positioning he was planning for a couple areas. During the 2 question he asked, Joseph's only response was "you should let the artist be an artist" in a very rude tone. He then proceeded to cancel the entire tattoo saying we were "micromanging". I have MANY tattoos and have worked with many artists who gladly went over the tattoo and the design choice before starting with no issue. Joseph is not your artist if you like to collaborate, have an elaborate design, or even have a question about any aspect of the piece. Maybe Joseph has forgotten that this tattoo is going to be on his customer FOREVER. It was embarrassing and rude to just make us leave after showing nothing but respect to him and the shop. If he cant deal with a couple questions from a customer - he's in the wrong business. Hopefully this saves someone the headache of dealing with this unprofessional tattoo diva
