WORST is an understatement!!!!! The staff is completely uneducated and the so called Doctor was passing the blame on the so called esthetician/ laser technician for my severe burns from the laser hair removal! I bought a coupon from one of those daily coupon things and went because of the lack of knowledge on my part when it comes to laser hair removal. I opted to have the bikini area as my hair removal "area choice" BIG mistake!! I had the treatment done right before xmas holidays and felt the burn right away but did not realize the extent until two days later when the are started to blister. Unfortunately the salon was closed for holidays and I could not go in right away. I finally went in about 5 days later and saw the "Doctor" He was asking me questions like my nationality, if I had tanned recently, what I put on the burn ....etc etc etc... basically trying to make things my fault and not taking responsibility for the reaction/ 2nd degree burn. The offer from the company was a free pedicure..haha!! I explained I will NEVER be back and they offered me a salon credit. The doctor gave me a salve of some sort that seemed to heel the wound but I was left with a terrible scar. Not really the place on the body you can hide discoloration when wearing a bikini- unless I wear board shorts! A couple of months have passed with no change in the discoloration. I contact Divine Interventions and they mailed me a balm of some sort as I live out of the country now. I not only waited 4 weeks for the snail mail (thanks for couriering it out) , but the prescribed medicated balm was prescribed to some random person and was obviously used and crusted when I opened the container. Could this get any worse???? I will tell my story a million times over if I have to. DO NOT EVER EVER go to Divine Interventions or their counterparts!!!! They will continue to sell these coupon things to bring in the unsuspecting/ miss informed persons like myself. Go to a dermatology clinic to have any laser hair removal done. Do your research. Stay informed. Any fly by night shop can buy a laser removal system and sell coupons. Trust me, it's not worth the pain and agony I have gone through. Hmm. Well I decided to drop in and see what they had to offer. I walked in the door and across from me at a desk was the spa receptionist who instead of welcoming me with a hi or hello, curtly told me to take off my shoes. I did as asked and proceeded inside. The same receptionist had started talking to another customer and did not even give me a second glance, did not acknowledge that I was standing there, and actually paid no attention. I was appalled, so I just stood there for another 5 minutes looking lost and the receptionist continued to ignore me. Finally she asked me if I had an appointment which I did, and replied that I was there for a free consult with the doctor. The reply was oh yeah well he is with a client so you can go sit in the waiting area. Obviously I had not been there before and had no idea where said room was located. Just as soon as she told me to go sit in the waiting room her attention was again turned toward examining her manicure. I meandered into a room with a couch, a chair and a few occasional tables on which were perched several of Divine Intervention's services brochures and price list. I waited for approximately 15 minutes and was greeted by the the doctor himself. He led me into a treatment room for my consultation. The consultation lasted about 10 minutes during which time a woman wearing a nurses uniform came in , she did not bother to knock and abruptly interrupted my conversation with the Dr. and then left. As my appointment headed to a close she entered again and literally hovered over me and tried to shoo me out of the room. I had actually been waiting for the Dr to return with a pamphlet I had requested. Although Dr. Haubrich did answer my questions, I did not feel they were answered fully and I was left feeling rather apprehensive. The brochure states: we offer a luxurious, state-of-the-art medical spa that ... and..." we take pride in effectively evaluating our patients in a nurturing environment" You are kidding right? I have been to many spa's in my time and have dealt with my fair share of uppity, *&^%$ , down right rude staff however this place takes the cake. read more

My experience at Divine Interventions has been nothing short of fantastic. The staff there are always friendly and welcoming. They are always professional during services and look very presentable in their black scrubs. The spa is always clean and inviting (ever in the winter time when it's gross outside!) Every time I have walked in there I was greeted with a smile and a "hi, how are you?" They do ask you to remove your footwear, but what spa doesn't? They offer comfortable rubber sandals that may be worn around the spa when footwear is taken off. Once I check in with the receptionist, she always takes me over to the waiting lounger which has a warm and relaxing feel to it. There are always refreshments, cookies and chocolate snacks tastefully presented on a platter for the clients to enjoy before their appointment. Yum!! I have received many services at Divine Interventions and each one has been performed in a professional manner. My hamam gommage with the full facial was fantastic (if you have never had one, you MUST!!). The prices are very reasonable and you always get what you pay for. For example, when I book just a facial alone, I receive a 20 minute back massge as well - and the best part... it's only $95.00!! All the services I have had done with the physicial (ranging from fillers and botox to skin resurfacing) have exceeded my expectations. He is very punctual and extremely professional. He always makes me feel comfortable and he is always honest with me about what I can expect from each procedure. If I ever have any questions in regards to procedures or products, the physician as well as all the staff are very knowledgeable in answering all of my questions thoroughly. One thing I do appreciate is how honest everyone is about the treatments they offer; they will not offer you a treatment or product that will be of no benefit to you. Overall, this spa is a hidden gem that people are slowly starting to discover. Having been a client at this spa for a couple of years now, I find it hard to believe that someone would write a review that involves uneducated staff and actual physical scarring yet not pursue it through appropriate channels and expect us to believe it. I get Laser Hair Removal done at Divine, I have also had photofacials, massage and body wraps. I have NEVER had a bad experience. Not even once. The staff is fun and kind and professional. Dr. Haubrich takes the time to explain everything in detail and answers all the questions you may have. I loved this spa so much, I recommended them for review to a magazine, I have recommended them to ALL of my friends and I took my friend there for a special surprise day at the spa (which the Spa Manager helped me arrange). Unprofessional, rude and discourteous staff. The staff is not knowledgeable about the inject-able services performed by the doctor. Two staff members had given me the wrong information regarding follow up treatment and after care for Botox injections. After receiving several answers from DI's staff that had totally contradicted what I had been told by a cosmetic surgeon and quite frankly did not even make any sense I asked the staff members about their qualifications and asked " In what way are you qualified to answer these question? The reply was "Well I work here" I asked, "Are you trained in this field? The answer was NO. I was very put off and told the staff that they should not be giving after care advice if they don't know what they are talking about, especially for Botox! I have been coming here for years. I have had photofacial ( 2 times a year for sun spots) and Botox for my forehead lines. I absolutely love the results and the products. I never feel like things have been overdone, rather- just right for my face. I am using ( mostly) products from here as well - and feel like the cost is worth it considering things are medical grade and proper for sun exposure. I have seen Dr.Jay for years and have nothing but great things to say about the injections. He did the lines around my mouth and that's prob the service I've been most happy about. I'm going on 2 years with the filler and am still pleased. Also- the sunscreen here-is amazing for a kids face. It's powder and works. I dust my little guys face for sports. I rarely write reviews but i think its important to Give praise where it is deserved. There is not a single negative thing I can say about Divine Interventions/Kaya Kama Day spa. I have been going to see them For various things since they opened and have never had anything but an amazing experience. Also now that they have taken over ownership of Kaya Kama Day Spa (only the Sherwood park location, the south side location is owned by someone else) I have found no need to visit anywhere else for my beauty and day spa needs. They offer facials, pedicures, manicures as well as their one of a kind Hammam and gommage which is amazing to have before a massage, all of the massage girls are registered.
