The salon is in a nice area on Merrick Blvd. near shops and eateries. Inside the salon is bright and pleasantly decorated; and has Friendly vibes! Priscilla is welcoming and down to earth, she asks how you want your weave done and/or styled (all pictures are welcome!). I was a bit anxious because I do use 4 colors blended in my weave, but it was NO BIG DEAL to her, she understood and executed my weave beautifully! I had a 10:45 appointment and was started right away. The assistant who started my hair was very friendly, quick and did her job prepping my hair extremely well. I was comfortable and enjoyed the music they played. Petra, the stylist, went above and beyond with my hair. Not only did she hold conversation with me during the process but even remembered my name. That personal touch definitely added to the experience. I say all that to say, I am very pleased and overjoyed with my new look. The salon, New BBS, almost demolished my hair and even, finding out today, left me with a bald spot. Two visits, two rounds of hair loss -- not a fluke…read more I was a regular here years ago when I lived in the neighborhood. Back then, the owner permed my hair and added a "clear" shine treatment, and my hair fell out. I moved away, went natural, and chalked it up to bad luck. Years later I came back to get my natural hair pressed. My first visit was excellent -- the stylist cleansed and prepped my hair, used a heat protectant, and I walked out with zero heat damage. My second visit, in June 2026, was with the owner, and my hair has been falling out ever since. I have severe heat damage, with patches broken off near the root. I asked for heat protectant and was told it was applied, but based on the result, I don't believe it was. As a Black woman with 4c hair, gentle manipulation is everything. Detangling while blow-drying on high heat is not that. I'm now doing damage control and hoping I don't have to cut it all off and start my natural hair journey over. The first time, I gave the benefit of the doubt. The second time, with the same stylist, confirmed it: she is not the right person for 4c hair. There won't be a third time. If you have natural hair, I'd think carefully before booking with the owner.

I have been researching Queens stylists that silk press natural hair with Edward scissor hand skills for months. A good friend researched Polish on Yelp and was styled by Keith and I was convinced I should visit for my silk press and trim. There were a few clients ahead of my appointment time, so Keith kindly introduced himself and explained that his assistant David would take me to the sink to wash my hair. What followed was pure bliss. David was a sweetheart. Highly entertaining and has magic hands. My shampoo scalp massage was a answer to a prayer! He washed my hair thoroughly and used great products. He did not struggle to detangle my hair so my blow out was seamless. He took his time and the service was worth every penny spent. Best shampoo I've ever had. The products used on my hair were great. Not heavy or cheap. Keith silk pressed me and trimmed my hair for the Grand Finale to give it dimension and body. The results were exactly what I desired. Clean, fragrant, LIGHT, full of body, bounce. Silked, Shiny, Sheared and Slayed by the Gods. I like that all the staff here are personable and hilariously funny. I had a great 3.5 hours spent here.
