I've always been intrigued by Eastern philosophy, and if I didn't have the patience of a flea I'd be a meditation guru by now. I can't sit still and clear my mind long enough to be at one with the universe. I start thinking about what I'm going to make for dinner, whether I sent the mortgage payment, why the tip of my nose itches so badly and needs immediate scratching... But I do love everything else about Eastern philosophy, which is why I wandered into Divine Planet one afternoon. There's eco-clothing woven from bamboo fiber, Chinese paper star hanging lamps, handmade Thai jewelry, batiked sarongs, silk drapes, scented candles and lotions, saris repurposed into throw pillows and throws, an entire wall of stunning Buddhist malas, and beads galore for stringing your own jewelry or meaningful mala. The woman running this location has a non-pushy and welcoming persona that exudes Zen. Prices are reasonable, and the sales astounding. I found a handmade, multi-colored shift from Tibet with gold thread woven into the fabric for $10, marked down from over $60. Not that you could ever feel stressed out on Kaua'i (OK, maybe "rush hour" on Kuhio would do it), but Divine Planet's got yer om right here. read more

Cool items. They are appealing to the earthy crowd that come from money. Over priced like activists and medication practitioners but t shirts for 40 bucks?? Who gives up earthly products and rises to the divine but can afford a hemp bracelet for $100? Service is not inviting but they do return smiles. read more

This is for the Hanalei Divine Planet. It seems a little bigger than the Kapaa location. Majority of the same stuff it looks like, but a little bit more selection in purses, clutch's, and home decor. They also have some vintage looking items as well. The girl that was behind the counter was nice. She greeted us and asked if we wanted to see anything. read more

Went into this Divine Planet store today. Absolutely nothing of interest in buying today. They have a whole bunch of stuff..mostly geared towards..I dunno how to explain it. I once got a top and a shorts here months ago. Two employees were by the register area. I walked past them within couple of feet. I was actually playing Secret Shopper. I stood nearby looking around, neither of them said Hi or Can I help you? They were talking story, not giving attention to the other customers in the store. I didn't make a purchase today. read more

I'm at the Divine Planet on Sunday, the girl was very rude, unfriendly to women, and super nice to men. Divine Planet, i like your store, but your employee is not inviting. In addition, i almost injured myself for an object located near needs section. The store clerk was super rude & mean. I will never go to this store again! Pansy is a gem find. Yes pun intended. I was on the hunt for the perfect sunrise shell (more of a moonrise) and found a great one except they were earrings. Pansy custom made them into necklaces playing with the settings and stones until they were perfect. I couldn't be happier and the price was very reasonable as well. Her work is great. read more

I have never been so disrespected by a business owner in my life. Our last day of vacation in beautiful Hanalei and my daughter and I returned to this horrific store to purchase a pendant she admired earlier in our vacation. The store had been closed for two hours that day (from 11am-1pm) due to a power outage. We arrived at two o'clock to browse and purchase the pendant. The owner was unbelievably rude because she wanted to close the store so she could go to lunch. I was surprised because the store was closed during the lunch hour due to the power outage. We were let in to the store - with a miserable attitude - and told to 'hurry up' so she could close the store to go eat lunch. After a minute or two of her rolling her eyes and huffing and puffing, we left. I promised my daughter another souvenir from a different store because I refuse to spend money with this rude woman. Love this place because the owner hand makes many fine pieces for very reasonable prices. The store staff is very friendly, understands bargain shopping and is quick to point out things we don't see. I was looking for sea glass jewelry and found custom made pieces, beautifully crafted and very reasonable. Will shop there again. read more
