Their tropical arrangements are amazing...best in the SF. I always order this type of arrangement from them every year for birthdays for over a decade. Hence why they get two stars instead of one star. I ordered an upright sympathy spray arrangement for $230 for my godmother's funeral, the ribbon font was HANDWRITTEN, not professionally printed like other local florists for the same price. The ribbon looked horrible so I had to remove it. The other arrangements from Paul's Florists (see picture) had their ribbon nicely printed, which was what I expected from Divisadero Florist. Upon closer inspection, the roses were wilted & browning. The arrangement didn't look very fresh at all, which is unacceptable for the price paid. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a disappointment. They did not have the exact product I was looking for yet was expected to pay full price. When I brought to her attention something was missing and later respectfully questioned why I should have to pay full price she replied, "if you don't want it, there is another flower shop around!" and wow I was shocked. But yes, I indeed opted to go somewhere else (Sol Ambiance - they're great!) But I wasn't happy because 1. They substituted a flower color that was not available which I was okay with BUT I had to ask to include roses which were part of the arrangement, and when she did it was only half of what was shown online (4 out of 8) even though there was enough available, plus she seemed mad that I asked 2. The "Celebrate" sign AND bright base were not available which would've been nice since it was for a graduation, and especially 3. she was defensive and giving off negative energy to a customer who was flexible and willing to pay over $75 but why would I pay for something I'm not 100% content with? Sometimes it's the little things that matter and since these aspects were not fulfilled I can't say I was satisfied. I was advocating for a fair compromise but it was not well received and at the end I told her "thank you" and walked out empty handed. This place is above and beyond for your basic florist. It's not high end. Sometimes some of the flowers might be ready to be taken off the floor- but not many. They always have a nice selection of fresh ones. They pretty much let me walk around and gather flowers, if I ask for help they'll make suggestions but are not remotely unpleasant if I decline their suggestions. And the prices are great, always way less than i expect. And they're always friendly. read more

I ordered a flower arrangement for a funeral and was appalled when I saw that what was delivered was totally different from what I had ordered. In fact, it wasn't even a flower arrangement - it was a plant. At first, the owner apologized and asked if I would like a replacement flower arrangement. Given that the funeral was over, I asked that I just be refunded. After that, it went nowhere after four calls and three conversations. I finally called my credit card company and filed a complaint. They very quickly refunded the purchase. RUDE!!! Please correct me if I'm wrong: the posted hours state closing at 4 PM on Saturday. Well, I arrived at 3 PM today and they were seemingly to be packing everything up for the day. So I walk in and state that I am looking for a small gift and start to look around. The woman packing up things for the day stops what she's doing ask me if I need help. I say no and that I just want to look around for a second. She proceeds to just stand there like an ogre in the middle of the store, watching me look around. I then look at two tiny potted plants, and she still watching me, staring as I was deciding between two plants. I'm not sure if she thought I was going to steal or what! It was very uncomfortable and super awkward. I told her she was making me uncomfortable because she was just standing there watching me & staring as I decided. So I just walked out of the store. She then followed me out of the store yelling "BYEEEE! HAVE A NICE DAY!!!!" She even proceeded to yell at my husband who was standing, waiting for me outside. She yelled at him that she offered to help me! Wow! The woman in the store was unhinged and extremely rude to say the very least. We originally ordered a bouquet to be delivered to our daughter. She received a bouquet that was nothing like the picture. I emailed the florist and didn't get a response so I did a Yelp review that was a one star rating. The florist called my daughter at work (not sure why she called the recipient of the flowers instead of me, the buyer and reviewer) and that frustrated me. I called and spoke with the florist and when I told her who I was she said don't worry we aren't mad at you about your review which I thought was strange. They said they didn't deliver the arrangement my daughter received. She was trying to figure out what happened. I suggested her delivery driver delivered the wrong flowers. She said they don't use the vase the flowers were in and doesn't use baby's breath. We had a long discussion and in short I told her I would remove the one star review if she redelivered the bouquet. Before hanging up the phone she said if you ever order from us again don't worry we won't forget you. Today the flowers were delivered and my daughter very much appreciated them and I appreciated it as well. We pass this place all the time, beautiful flowers some of which are new to me. I heard that years ago, Ted Danson bought Whoopi Goldberg flowers here. Never was a customer. I kill flowers, cut or not. But a friend welcomed us home with a beautiful holiday arrangement designed to fit in a beautiful vase she had purchased separately from an artist. The arrangement (and the vase) were stunning. A definite 10. But the amazing thing is that 14 days later, it is still a 6.5. And remember flowers do not do well with me. A word of caution when doing business with Divisadero Florists. I placed an online order for a floral arrangement on Dec. 23, 2022 and used Paypal to pay for the arrangement. I received an email with the description of the arrangement and the total costs. Shortly after I placed the order, I received an email from Paypal stating that Divisadero Florists had authorized a higher amount than was stated on the bill! This was illegal and unauthorized! It is troublesome because Divisadero Florists made no attempt to contact me regarding the additional costs. I contacted Paypal immediately and was instructed to contact the florist directly. I've made two phone calls to the store, one on Dec 23, the second on Dec 28. On both occasions, I was told that I needed to speak with Lilliana, the owner/manager. I left messages and my contact info and have not received a call back. It's been 2 weeks. I called Paypal today and confirmed that Divisadero Florists was paid the higher amount; again, it was an amount that I did not authorized. I opened a claim today with the Paypal Resolution Center to get this matter resolved. read more

Zion, and wanted to brighten up her hospital room by ordering flowers. The prices were decent, and slightly less expensive than 1-800-FLOWERS and ProFlowers. I placed the order between 3-4pm, and didn't expect them to arrive that same day. However, the next day around 9:30am, I got a call from my friend thanking me for such a cheery 'get well' flower delivery! Wow, talk about fast delivery service. The yellow roses and gerber daisies looked fresh, and will hopefully last for awhile. **I'm happy to support a "Mom and Pop and local joint!"** I'll gladly stop in to check out the storefront (as it's in my 'hood' and pass by it often) and write a review update. Not only did they look amazing, but they smelled awesome and the flowers are lasting quite a long time. I was hesitant to use this florist given some of the reviews, but was extremely happy with the results. Have used nearby florists that are much more expensive and the arrangements do not last and start smelling foul with a day or two of delivery.
