Unfortunately, I lost my 12 year old Yorkie after bringing her here to find out what was happening. The staff were really caring and extremely friendly and over-the-top considerate. You know you have animal lovers taking care of your fur-babies when they are willing to do everything they can. Thank you for taking care of us.

They are the absolute best, the most caring and helpful. They LOVE your fur babies almost as much as you.

Sarah was so kind and friendly, she went above and beyond to check in with us, walk us back to the room, go over all information on what the appointment would look like, explain every and all process so we knew what to expect next, walk us out, and take GREAT care of our dog. It was our first time at OVRS so she made sure any and all questions were answered! Some even before we even had to ask! Dr. Sauerbrey was so incredibly kind, professional, and took her time explaining all of our options, giving her recommendations, but making sure at the end of the day our dog would have the best chances and best treatment possible. She was kind, empathetic, and so easy to work with. She answered all questions happily and was a joy to meet and work with. Dr McDonald Lynch and tech Jenna have been so incredible during a very scary time. Surgery is tomorrow and I know I have the best staff caring for my baby. ER experience was also equally as good I was used to another very popular ER vet and when they said you will be here a while I said I'm prepared. When they called me back in an hour with full diagnosis, meds and the best explanation I was confused and impressed. I will share my story just as others have with me. This is the most exceptionally special veterinary care I have ever experienced.

I was referred to Dixie Vets and called and they told us to come right away. When we arrived the inside was clean and smelled wonderful. They offered us water and coffee multiple times also which was very nice. All of this is extra and nothing they have to do, but still do it. That tells me a lot about them. The receptionist was excellent and you could feel that she cared. She actually got up and walked to our room. I have never had a receptionist do that. The veterinarian technician came in shortly after and she was also amazing. Once again you could feel that she cared about our cat. I actually thought she was the veterinarian. She was really nice and comforting. The veterinarian came in after and (I know I keep repeating myself, but this is a good thing) She was amazing. She was very gentle and compassionate with our cat. She was upfront with the cost and gave us a couple choices. I can normally read people very well and it is easy to see if someone is genuine or not. They were all truly genuine. It is doctors like her and people like the receptionist and vet tech that can help or hurt the reviews and if you are coming back or not. The old vet is about 8 minutes away and Dixie is about 30 minutes away. We will be coming back to Dixie without a second thought. I recommend anyone looking for help to go to Dixie Veterinary Hospital.

I gave them a call and they said to bring her in right away. We got there and there were a few other emergencies they were dealing woth. I waited about a half hour and that was ok because Lola was in no major pain at that time. She was bleeding, but when your nail is ripped off, what do you expect? My one complaint was that they seemed almost too lax that Lola was getting blood all over. I was told not to worry that they would clean it up. We went back to the room, then vet came in right away and took and look, then shared the plan. They took her in back and 10 minutes later she came out woth her paw all cleaned and wrapped. I felt very happy with how clear the vet was in regards to the treatment and her care she was receiving. I could hear the staff in the back talking to her and comforting her as they gave care. They didn't try to get me to run extra tests or provide extra services so when it was time to checkout, the cost was half the price of the last time this happened and we took her to a different ER vet. It was such a relief as these times are tough. I was very happy with this place and will likely Make it our regular vet! Thank you!

If you are looking for a vet who will show compassion not only throughout your pet's life but also…read moreduring one of the hardest days you'll ever face, I encourage you to carefully consider your options. Based on our experience, I would recommend considering VCA BRIGHTON ANIMAL HOSPITAL before here. This review is not simply about the heartbreaking loss of our dog. It is about how this vet treated our family during one of the most difficult moments we have ever experienced. Our dog was a patient here for years. We adopted him as a senior dog, knowing his medical needs would likely increase with age. Throughout that time, we invested thousands of dollars to ensure he had the best quality of life possible, only because we understood that was the only option. During the final months of his life, we were at this clinic monthly, if not more often. Everyone knew our dog. As his condition declined, getting him into a vehicle became extremely difficult. We made the painful decision to provide him with a peaceful, in-home euthanasia through a hospice service. We elected to have his cremated remains delivered to Towne & Country for pickup because the hospice provider routinely works with this clinic. When we called Towne & Country to ask if his ashes had arrived, we were told they had not and that we would be contacted when they did. After following up directly with the crematory, we were shocked to learn that Towne & Country had REJECTED delivery. The crematory informed us that when they contacted the clinic to clarify, they were given a "hard no." Unable to understand why this would happen, I drove to the vet in person. I was told that because our dog had not been euthanized by Towne & Country, they would not accept delivery of his ashes, even though he had been an established patient there for years and had received extensive treatment from this practice throughout the final chapter of his life. At a time when compassion should matter most, this response was devastating. We were already grieving the loss of our beloved dog, and instead of being met with empathy, we were left scrambling to figure out how we were going to bring him home one last time. To make matters worse, while I was visibly upset trying to understand the situation, a member of the front desk staff laughed at my reaction. This experience also reflected a broader pattern that we experienced during our dog's care there. When we sought a second opinion, Towne & Country was unwilling to send his medical records to another veterinary practice. Every pet owner deserves the ability to seek another professional opinion without added obstacles. I understand that every veterinary practice has policies. However, policies should never come at the expense of compassion, communication, or basic empathy, especially for long-standing clients experiencing profound loss. A simple conversation or willingness to help us navigate the situation would have made all the difference. This experience permanently changed how I view this practice. Losing a pet is painful enough. No family should have to endure additional heartbreak simply trying to bring their beloved companion home one last time. I rarely write negative reviews because I know every business can have an off day. Unfortunately, this was not a minor inconvenience, it was one of the most important moments of our lives, and Towne & Country failed us when compassion mattered most. VCA Brighton Animal Hospital was amazing. We wish we would've had his ashes brought there.

This place quoted up an estimate of $4500-$6500 so we quickly rushed over there. The total ended up being around $7000 for the surgery but were advised not to do the surgery. They stated they were taking my dog back for vitals but put a cone on him and did many other things without our permission, caused him a lot of distress in his final moments (he pooped all over nervously which would have been better if we could be with him). The surgeon when telling us the sad news that we'd need to put him down wasn't just blunt or "telling us the worst case scenario," she was overdramatizing it and genuinely cruel with her wording. I understanding needing to tell someone that it really is the best option to put down your dog, but there is are better ways than to tell them that he's probably going to go into cardiac arrest (which is incredibly rare) and that he only had a 20% chance it wasn't cancerous (it's closer to 30%-35%). She spoke really fast and was very gruesome with details that weren't necessary to share. The other nurse was much more realistic and told us that he would probably be just fine through surgery but because it's most likely cancerous, it would most likely be his last few months and he would probably be in pain when he could find comfort today through eternal rest. Vet Katie, who arrived on shift later right before we put him down, was incredibly kind, patient, and understanding. She allowed us to take as much time as we needed and even went the extra mile and found us an ink pad and paper to get a paw print with (they had stopped doing that through there a while ago). She comforted us with her words and could understand our pain with the recent passing of her dog at home. I really appreciated her and I hope she knows the positive impact she had in that situation. The only reason why this place gets stars is for her. Rest well, my baby Jack I miss you everyday. He was my everything.

My 12 year old brittany had a procedure that makes him susceptible to pneumonia. Sure enough, when I got home from work last Friday, my baby wasn't eating, was lethargic, and had a temperature. Knowing pneumonia can get life-threatening really quick, I took him to the Emergency Service West. X-rays and bloodwork confirmed my amateur diagnosis. I was given the option to keep Reno there, or to send him home with antibiotics. Given that he was stable, and not struggling to breathe, the veterinarian counseled that recovery at home was a viable option. I am happy to report that the next day, Reno had returned to his old self. We are continuing the antibiotics, and will see his regular vet in a week, but I expect he will make a full recovery. Yes, Veterinary Emergency Service West was expensive. However, had I not taken him, it is very likely Reno would have gotten worse while I waited to see his regular vet, and then may have needed hospitalization. I am so happy they are there!

They charged him $800 just for an X-ray and fluids. Told him the cat needed surgery it was going to cost no more then $7,000 and no less then $4,500. Wouldn't work with him. So he had to leave with the cat. My son lives in Midland and went there because it was the only place he found that was open because of the holiday weekend. I have also had to take a few of my pets here and they are WAY overpriced. My dog threw a small bone up hole, which then caused her to vasovagal. We didn't know that's what was wrong with her, but I had already read reviews that they like to blame animals getting a hold of marijuana as reason for the pet to be sick. When we got there, which was around 4 PM. They took her in the back said they were gonna do some labs and an x-ray and then around 10 PM. Finally called us back. The first thing he asked is do you have marijuana in your house. I said no and he says well what we think happened is that she had vasovagal episode when she threw up. So $600 for them to keep her in a cage for hours to tell us that she vasovagaled and was fine.
