We made a 5:00 reservation (online), walked in at 5:02, and were immediately greeted with such a warm welcome that we instantly felt welcome. Our server recommended the pineapple lemon drop--absolutely delicious! The house salad with the warm bacon dressing was magical, and my husband loved the peppercorn ranch. Both ribeyes were cooked to perfection, the green beans were fresh (definitely not from a can!), and the mushrooms were packed with flavor. As we were leaving, we stopped to take a picture and learned that the friendly young woman who had welcomed and served us was actually the owner, Semmes. Her father purchased the restaurant in 1990, and after his passing in 2024, she proudly took over the family business. Watching her interact with every guest, it was clear she genuinely loves what she does. She was a ray of sunshine to everyone who walked through the door. I also loved seeing her dad's antique car parked outside--a sweet tribute to his legacy. If you're from the Meridian area or just passing through on I-20, do yourself a favor and stop here.
