The legendary Gypsy Wolf Cantina restaurant in Woodstock morphed into Dixon Roadside with a new style and new owner several years ago. It has most of those comfort, southern classics here: the brisket, pulled pork, collard greens, baked beans, corn bread. And it wouldn't be complete if Woodstock didn't add their own Vegan and Vegetarian spin to their menu. We were tossed between staying or leaving as we also wanted a more celebratory dinner atmosphere at our favorite Italian restaurant in town- so decided to only pick up dessert here and have in our cottage. As their name reads- it's every bit of that with a large gravel parking lot swinging on either side(?) of the restaurant and large canopy area for even more COVID outdoor or inclement weather seating. That 'roadside' theme carries on inside with 'garage doors', food served on metal trays and my girl wearing light blue/white stripe, train conductor overalls. And there's more seating inside with a fantastic looking bar. The $5 Pineapple Tres Leches Shortcake was a generous portion- except it didn't travel well and was all discombobulated by the time we got to our cottage- but a delicious one at best. Take-out area works fast and friendly. Maybe I'm a bit generous with my rating but my dessert was freaking good. I honestly don't mind returning to Dixon for a full meal the next time we stay in town. I mean...if you're going to indulge in comfort food, going big or going home seems a fair creed to live by.

So disappointing that this place has closed...I was here in April of 2023 and the food was delicious. It is right off of a main thorough-fare in Woodstock, surrounded by trees with tall garage-door windows along the front exterior. The banister around the circumference of the restaurant is lined with pretty-white lights. We went here before a concert and it was the perfect meal. I ordered the macaroni and cheese with a side salad, my boyfriend ordered a cheeseburger with fries and we split the buffalo chicken wings topped with blue cheese. We were starving after hiking and sight-seeing all day and this was the perfect meal to end the excursion. Friendly waitstaff and great selection of beer. Please see the pictures below!

First time at Dixons. Was craving some BBQ and with some rave reviews online, I can see this place being absolutely packed on a nice summer evening. Not sure if I really got the fully scope and potential of this restaurant. I opted for the brisket, slaw and cornbread as a side, also got the pork sandwich with collard greens. Maybe I'm not a BBQ consiour but I've never seen brisket like this before. Was a wet, little to no flavoring and no signs of the tell tale smoke ring or tender meat. Portion was a little on the light side for the price. The slaw was good and the cornbread bite was tasty. The pork sandwich was definitely the move. Seems like the majority of sandwiches are. Need to swing back to give the chicken sandwich a try. Little disappointed, but will have to try again.

Bookmarked as my Catskill go to especially when I needed something yummy and quick but not fast food. This place is a gem. I have gone to Woodstock so many times, it is hard to find a place to eat without making a fuss about parking, reservation, it's a Monday night nothing's open, or the wait is too long. Dixon Roadside is by my side. Many options, vegetarian, fish, meat, and vegan (?? Please check menu for it but I would be surprised that they don't) funky draft beers or not, they have desserts too. The rainbow trout burger was delicious especially the wasabi mayo that gave it a real nice kick. The steak fries is a killer too. The Dixon burger has lovely fried onions inside. And the patty was nicely done. It's a quality burger for sure! They have outdoor seating too but in the winter it's a bit too cold but imagine sitting out there for a beer? We'll be back soon.

We enjoyed a lovely lunch at Dixon Roadside on the way in to Woodstock, NY. Oyster Mushroom and Kimchi Bánh mì were fantastic on the patio, as was Mac & Cheese with Cornbread and Biscuits (our son's selection). Really awesome food that has a plethora of vegetarian options. Items are incredibly interesting. We've stopped here before and it did not disappoint. Of course, being Woodstock, it is very dog friendly. We return whenever we are in the area.

What a cute local place! Thanks to other Yelpers' reviews, my group of 4 found this place while exploring the area. Loved the deco and vibe of the place. **In a rush? Skip to the end for my tips.** There is outdoor and indoor dining. I saw a lot of people with their dogs in the outdoor dining area. It was a bit cold to eat outside the day I went, but during the warmer weather, I bet it would be awesome to eat in the outdoor area. There was so much to choose from! Here is what we ordered. bbq'd beef brisket - It was okay. Not amazing. grilled market fish - I think it was trout that day and it was delicious! Dixon burger - This was also delicious! side of brussel sprouts - Amazingly delicious! side of roasted baby carrots - Good! side of cornbread - Amazing! It's definitely a cute pitstop to grab food! Tips: -When you come in, there are menus by the entrance for you to review and then you order at the counter. Then, they give you a number and you wait at a table. And, someone will bring your food to you.

Update: went with a large party of 11 people and everything was excellent. Service was great and timely, and food was delicious. Huge shout out to Nick who made us feel extra special. Last visit must have been an off night. Btw I had the fried chicken sandwich - excellent!!

Pros: - ample indoor and outdoor seating, with lots of heaters - everyone who works there wears masks Cons: - 40 minute wait time for food despite ordering only 3 items :( - food lacked sauce and seasoning - our table and another table next to us agreed - except for the 2 adults at the bar and the cashier (who were nice), everyone else was a teenage server. Our teenage server had 0 interest in checking in on our order or refilling our water. After the 40 minutes of waiting, only with the intervention of the adult did we finally get our order WHAT TO GET: - chopped brisket sandwich. If you still think it's a bit bland, ask the cashier for more sauce on the side. I thought this was 4 stars but my partner though it was worse - dessert: get the pineapple tres leches shortcake WHAT TO SKIP - please do NOT get the pulled pork sandwich. It lacked any seasoning or sauce :(

This was great in some respects -- we really loved the fried chicken, brussels, and beans especially. The brisket was good but I'd probably skip it next time in favor of the chicken, and my wife actually wasn't crazy about the mashed potatoes. The mac & cheese, biscuits, cornbread, fries, and pulled pork were all very good as well.

A great lunch spot! Our food came out so fast. And the portions are large! When ordering the staff was great with recommending local brews. I could see eating here in all seasons between the garage doors, fans and heaters. There's something for everyone.

At first glance the menu appears vaguely Mexican-inspired, but the cafe's decor and ambiance gives more of a New American feel. I was pretty excited to dive into my burrata sandwich. For me, the dressing is make-or-break for any salad, and I was pleasantly impressed by the side salad here. I was pretty ravenous and happily downed the entire sandwich. On the other hand, the fries were a little thick for my preferences (though that's probably best to slow me down!). It was a solid choice. Just be aware that it's not a quick grab-and-go type of meal (though they do offer takeout), nor is it light fare. In contrast to the other spots we've eaten at in town, Oriole 9 did NOT charge a credit card fee.

The place was very crowded and resembled an upscale cafe with a small bar. The food was farm-to-table and reminded of something I might see in Los Angeles, as many of the menu items were healthy, hearty, and natural. I began with a Matcha Latte with almond milk, which was bold, earthy, and creamy. It was one of the better ones I had ever had. Similarly, I had an incredible Egg White Omelet with my additions of tomatoes, peppers, and mushrooms. It was super fresh, well-seasoned, and not at all greasy. It was served with a small salad of greens, carrots, and grape tomatoes. These tomatoes were a bit mushy, but I enjoyed the dressing on the salad. I also received Rye Toast, which seemed like it had come from a bakery, rather than a supermarket package. My companion had ordered a Pretzel Bun Burger with no cheese and a side of fries. However, since our server did not write down the order, we were a bit nervous. A few moments after, she had come back to the table asking if he wanted breakfast potatoes or fries, to which he repeated "fries". When the burger came, it looked amazing, but was also slathered with cheese, so he had to send it back. When the corrected version arrived, we were impressed with the thickness of the patty. He said the burger was excellent, and I loved the few fries I snagged. Aside from the ordering snafu, we had a great experience at Oriole 9! The menu was vast and offered something for everyone. I would definitely recommend giving it a visit.

When I don't want a full dining experience but the hubs and I have a babysitter, we like to sit at the bar for martinis and oysters - SO FRESH! If you don't do oysters, anything on the appetizers list is a wonderful light bite. I don't know what kind of magic the chef uses to make the salads but they are always simple, yet stunning. For dinner, the steak is hard to pass up if you eat red meat. I usually get the single serving NY strip, which is incredible. You can't go wrong. I'm excited to try the porterhouse for 2. My mollusk loving friend raved about the mussels and the fish selection is fantastic. I'm not a big dessert person, but splitting any of the desserts is a treat. Alternatively, the digestif selection doesn't disappoint. The bartenders and bar manager, Nick, are helpful in guiding your taste buds to the right choice. Bud, the owner, whose previous establishments can be read about in some respectfully placed articles around the restaurant, is always accommodating for the busiest place in town. It's nearly impossible to get a seat on Friday and Saturday nights from 6-9, but he will be honest and create a space at one of the little side bar areas if he can. The ambiance is sexy and sophisticated with a touch of whimsy. The toilet paper holder in the restroom always makes me smile (IYKYK). While I love to explore different dishes, I'm a huge fan of their Thai mussels appetizer, chicken entree, and pasta bolognese. Their wine selection is second none. More recently my dinner guest raved about their seafood risotto. Our server Kelly was kind, knowledgeable, and just an all around fabulous human. See you next month!

We started with the gambas with garlic oil I could literally put on everything, the home made pierogis that were outrageous m, and the scallops that were like butter. I was so happy with the chicken breast in the porcini- tarragon cream sauce and my boyfriend loved the steak. It was cooked perfectly medium rare. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. The restaurant is super cozy in a farmhouse setting. We really enjoyed our experience and will definitely be back!

Last Chance was hoppin' when we stopped by for a late lunch. Upon entry, a sign was spotted telling…read morediners to wait to be seated. But several awkward minutes passed and another party came inside before anyone greeted and escorted us to a table. Oddly, a runner walked by the entrance a few times but didn't acknowledge us and seemed to avoid eye contact. Prices were were a hair higher than expected, but thankfully the portions were filling. I went with the tavern steak sandwich ($22). The fries were the steak kind but not too fat and wedge-y. There was a totally reasonable amount of Muenster and steak, and I found that the sandwich didn't really need the accompanying steak sauce. The mac & cheese ($14) was a delightful appetizer made with a whopping five different cheeses! Last Chance mentions both antiques and cheese in its name so we had to investigate both. Instead of a separate shop, the antiques are all around the restaurant, and our server said some are for sale and some belong to the owner's private collection but he seems possibly open to offers. The cheese and gifts are in an area on the other side of the bar, with the cheese behind a counter. I thought the cheese collection would be larger and have more NY options, but it was still a solid selection. If you plan on purchasing any candy or other treats after your meal, just let your server know so you can take your bill over there.

The pate was th bomb! The pastas were yummy but I feel like the texture can be more al dente. The root beer is very creamy, I would prefer more root beer flavor but it's definitely indulgent. Chocolate fondue is great for sharing.
