I chose take out so I placed my order and then went shopping next door. They had bar seating and tables and one bigger table for larger parties. It's not a huge restaurant. The meatballs are good here. You can get them as a sandwich, with pastas or just meatballs alone. They also have vegan version as well. The store is pretty good. really cute spot with so much potential! great service! we sat right at the counter. the house beer was 2 options, and altho i wouldnt order this again, it wasn't bad and the label was cute. i grabbed the sundied tomatoe and chickpea meat(less)balls. i really wanted to like these, but unfortunately they were less than par. they would not stay together, they were too mooshy and fell apart. hopefully they can work on a better biding agent. the flavor was okay. there was plenty of sauce. unfortunately they dont give you bread for the excess sauce. we ordered the bread for the side and i think this was a $6 charge. i guess they figure u can just order the sandwich, but i ordered the bread because there was just so much sauce involved in the meatballs. my date got the regular meatballs and he was pleased. happy to see theres another option for me to try on the menu - the chicken meatballs. would give this place another shot while in town to try them. read more

Uniqlo (!!!), in their LifeWear magazine, described Sharkie's as "a meatball restaurant that sends a fine aroma out into the street." The Japanese clothing retailer is scarily on point and while Sharkie's isn't mentioned by name, if you know of any other prominent meatball merchants in the heart of Woodstock, please promptly let me know. My current go-to is the "Create Your Meatballs with Veggies Bowl." The roasted eggplant ($5.15 per scoop) is superb, especially with the default marinara sauce and shredded mozzarella ($2.58). You can't go wrong with the beef & pork or the turkey meatballs ($6.18 for 2 of the same kind). Chicken meatballs and chickpea vegan balls available too. The only downside is that it can get zoo-like at peak times, but the wait usually isn't too bad. Sharkie's has a bar and three tables so it's not huge. But the easygoing and helpful staff are standouts and handle the crowds with aplomb. Sharkie's has a little grocery store next door with a lot of local foods and frozen meatballs if you want to recreate the Sharkie's experience at home. I love Sharkie's. The vegan/chickpea meatballs are so good. They're great with any of the combination options offered, and I've eaten them all. You will not be the sole person chomping on a salad as everybody plunges into a rich meatball dish, you can enjoy along with others. Absolutely delicious. Dine in or take out- both are great. The meatballs alone would make me drive across 3 states. First day we went on vacation the person waiting on us was top notice, super friendly and helpful as we had never been here. We decided to go back to get the amazing meatballs to take back home with us (they have a little store attached which they sell them and other items.. a bit pricey but worth it!) We also ordered take out of the meatballs again. Trust me when I say they are delicious but the one thing that was a downer is the woman at the counter taking our order was not friendly at all. She was focused on the guy working and her phone more than helping customers. But even with poor service that day. I would still return. Strolling along the street that is downtown Woodstock, initially the delicious smells wafting out of this restaurant drew me close. Walking into the joint, it was bustling at around 2pm on a Saturday, plenty of people ordering in or to go. Next time I'm in town would def want to try the meatballs here. Although I didn't eat in this time, the variety of local beers in the fridge and on the shelves piqued my interest. I grabbed a couple and brought it up to the front to pay. The cashier mentioned they were $8.50 each or 4 for $23.50(?), so I thought why not pick up a couple more. However considering this was one of the first spots I stopped by, I didn't want to carry them around so I told him I'd be back. An hour or so later I dropped by and the same cashier was restocking the fridge and remembered me right away, even picking out from the fridge for me the beers I'd brought up earlier to the register. A small gesture but super thoughtful and helpful! I was able to check out quickly and take my beers to go. So far I've tried the Arrowood Farm Brewery Black Sheep Brown Ale and the Catskills Brewery Ball Lightning and enjoyed them both! read more

Pretty small shop on Main Street but packed with outstanding flavors! They specialize in meatball dishes. They offer 3 kinds: beef and pork blend, turkey, and vegan. All are prepared in a totally awesome marinara sauce. I had a few of the beef pork blend - the best meatballs I have ever eaten. Wow. So glad we stopped here for our lunch as we passed through the iconic hippy town. The meatballs are so tasty. We got the open face meatball sandwich which comes with provolone cheese and marinara. We got a side of the Shark bites with Turkey meatballs. The food was hot, fresh and made with love. Shark bites are a specialty of theirs and it's a meatball wrapped in a biscuit and baked and served with a hot (temp & spicy) honey for dipping. The server was on point and after listen to us groan about not having any non-alcoholic brews when they have a 3 page menu of local craft beer then directed us to some non-alcoholic options (peach tea and lemonade that we combined.) The server also made a great recovery by comping our Shark bites when we bit into one of them and it had raw dough. She also had them make another one for us. The place is tiny so takeout is a great option. Will come again if we are ever in Woodstock again. read more

I have been wanting to try sharkie's for awhile now but haven't made it there. 5 of us showed up on a Saturday at 5:30 and from start to finish it was perfect. The owner and wait staff were very busy but they hammered out orders like it was a walk in the park. We sat at the bar, and ordered our meals which came out extremely quick in my opinion. 4 out of five of our party had the open face meatball sandwiches and one had the meatball and gnocchi dinner. All I can say is it was love at first bite, from start to finish utter perfection. Nobody talked very much during our meal, we were all just busy savoring every bite. I never wanted it to end. The meatballs were to die for, and everyone agreed they were the best they had ever eaten.I will be visiting Sharkie's a lot now knowing how incredible their food is. read more

We loved Sharkie's! Stumbled upon this place while passing through Woodstock on our way home from a Hudson Valley weekend. I was so excited when I found out all their meatballs are gluten free, which is not something you usually see, and as someone who eats gluten free, it made me so happy! I also loved that you can get the meatballs over pasta or over squash/eggplant. The meatballs were amazing, sauce delicious, and portions large. Also love that they had a turkey meatball option! Overall it feels like a very inclusive place, thinking of all dietary needs and not making it feel like an afterthought. Will definitely return next time I'm in the area. read more

It didn't matter that it was grueling hot. I talked to hubs about Sharkies being a meatball shop on Tinker St. and wanted his comfort food to eat in our cottage not far from here. I also jumped on it too- especially as a non-meat eater, Sharkies' Chickpea & Sun Dried tomato "meat"balls spoke to me. Things have changed somewhat since Mark opened his shop a few years ago. Those Vegan balls have "Sold Out" as a hot dish item being that they weren't a crowd pleaser- but the owner still carries them in the freezer section. There are also 'Beyond' balls on the menu which- didn't interest me. My seasony roasted Eggplant+Onion sandwich was ok. I felt there was too much eggplant for the bread and made it all fall apart- nonetheless, it was made with wholesome ingredients. Hubs ate some of his meatballs over Spaghetti Squash- which was a unique touch. According to hubs, meatballs were super juicy and tomato sauce was simple and not overdone with herbs- which he appreciates. The only (slight) thing these meatballs missed, were those brown charred marks on the outside to bring out the flavor- (which he would've preferred ). Mark was pleasant and mentioned he is remodeling next door to extend Sharkies. If these are the type of balls you like, Sharkies has 'em. read more

The seductive smells coming from this shop were too good to not pop in to see what could I possibly procure to solve my dinner dilemma. Low and behold the amazing Sharkie's meatballs to the rescue! I was able to buy fresh meatballs (cooked) with marinara - they even sell fresh pasta to go with it. Dinner problem solved AND these were next level delicious. While walking through Woodstock I saw a sign for Sharkie's and immediately knew I needed to try it. I went in and needed to go to the bar to order. The girl was friendly and helped me with a menu. I ordered a mini meatball sandwich which was just one meatball cut in half on a bun with provolone. It was delicious! I really appreciate when places have small portions like that available because sometimes I just like to try a small snack from multiple places. I also grabbed a side of the buttery garlic bread and it was also so delicious! Super buttery with a great garlic flavor and toasted so well.
