I've been going here forever(it was the first place I ever bought a beer). This is a great place to come and relax, and have some really great beer and food. So every time I go up or down the NY Thruway, I always make this pit stop. This establishment has been around forever, and has not changed much throughout the years. This, is a good thing as their food is consistently great! The ambiance is definitely of an Americana bar. The bar is in the center of the restaurant, with plenty of beers on tap, surrounded by dinning tables! I have never had an issue with service here, from the busboys to the waiters, they are all welcoming and happy to see you! Service is never an issue here. Now for the food, I have gone through most of their menu, and have not had a bad meal here yet. From their burgers to their occasional fish specials, all good and well prepared. Unlikely but less make believe. The burgers are tasty and the Signature is my favorite. The spinach & artichoke dip is also a great way to start. Not big on ambience for sure it's more of a big giant eatery but the staff are sweet the portions are large and the food is pretty decent. Great place to have a beer and a burger or some wings and some fries and hang out with your buddies and watch the big screen TVs. read more

Would definitely not recommend this place at all.. This is my 2nd time here and the food was just as awful as the 1st time l. We brought in cupcakes for my grandson's bday and were told they would charge $5.00. Even though they had no desert for children. I've had restaurants charge for cutting and plating. We served ourselves and used the Napkins as plates. My Thanksgiving sandwich was one very thin, dried up piece of turkey and an inch of dressing, barely any cranberry sauce. The executive burger was reasonably ok. The kid's pizza were burned. My pumpkin beer was great. My husband's malbec was disappointing and not worth $12.50 a glass. When our group entered this restaurant I was hesitant about eating here because it wasn't very trendy. It kinda looked like a sports bar with a long L shaped bar with TV's on the wall and many tables scattered around the large room. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess who seated us at a table for 6 and our server took our drink orders. I ordered a chicken sandwich on roll with very good mac salad and DH had the special, Beef Pot Pie in which he wasn't very pleased with and neither was my brother in-law... it was very dry. He asked the server for more gravy in which she brought but he didn't really like it. He ate most of it because he grew up having to clean his plate but he gave it 2 stars it also didn't have many potatoes or vegetables. But because my dish was better I raised the rating. We ordered dessert I ordered strawberry rhubarb pie but I think it was apple crisp pie. It tasted good though. All in all I would come here again but not for the Beef Pot Pie. read more

I struggled with the decision to rate this 2 or 3 stars. I've been here two or three times. The food is not great but not bad. I feel it's overpriced for what it is. Service is fine, but can be spotty especially when the place does not have a lot of customers in it. The setup is a little weird, and it's hard to see us customers behind the wall. The place is popular, but I think it's because there is not much else nearby. There's a large bar. I suspect they do some dancing or something here on weekend nights. Fine if you are in the area and need some family-friendly food, but don't make the trip just to come here. For 4 adults: A chicken pasta dinner, a dinner salad, one sandwich, a hamburger with fries, two small dinner salads, three beers, one martini in a bar with folding metal chairs and card tables covered in plastic... $150.00. I barely had enough for a tip. Misdirection was we were given a list of items taken off the menu, which had very reasonable prices, but we're told may not apply. But they were taken off the menu. This is our go-to neighborhood spot (in walking distance of our house). The food is decent and the selection of beers on tap are also good. They do suffer in some areas though. I think their menu is a bit too extensive and some of their offerings tend to be uneven, so knowing what to order is key. Their burgers and chicken wings are exceptional as are most of the sandwiches. Service is always very friendly and efficient. And they have a good old fashioned arcade/game room too. Noise level tends to be high as it's a very large establishment and also a sports bar. Check it out! Definitely worth it. read more

My family and I went here for dinner last night and it was great! Our waitress was very nice and did a fantastic job. The food was delicious and the size of the portions were huge! My father and I got corned beef and cabbage and it was delicious. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. It's worth a trip. Haven't been here in years due to poor food and decided to give it another chance-also wanted to be able to watch the Red Sox game....well 2 upset stomachs later I will never go back. The same chairs tables and tv from years ago! The TV are not even HD- they are the same from 15 years ago. No working WiFi. Hamburgers were tasteless, macaroni salad literally tastes like nothing. Felt bad for the wait staff running around with not enough help. I get times are hard for restaurants but clearly no one wants to put any investment to keep this place up. Sad. read more

Started off with us being told there are no menus, scan code with cell phone. Our cell phone was unable to do it. Son's phone worked but now three of us had to look at one phone. I was really close to giving this place a 4. It's a solid 3+ in my opinion. I'm not sure what the people who complained about the prices on the food were talking about. Premium beers and ciders were $4.50 each and my bowl of soup was $2.25. The prices on the menu all looked very reasonable, so while I can't speak to those items we didn't order I can't see why people would say they were overpriced either. It was neat and roomy and not sleazy looking at all. There were lots of families eating there, especially considering how deserted everything in this town seems to be, but the service was just fine. It had been a long time since I've been to the Hurley Mountain Inn. 15 years in fact. I used to live in the little yellow house right next to City Hall back in 1996, when I was a medical resident in Kingston. So I have a lot of fond memories of the Inn as well as the parking lot (noisy at night sometimes). Anyway, the Hurley Mountain Inn used to be, I suppose the best word for it, a dive. It had a lot of dead stuffed animals on the walls. On Wednesdays, you would throw peanut shells all over the floor. There was beer and wings and pizza and pool. It was a great place. Still a great place, but they really have cleaned it up. I suppose it's to appeal more to families. It was a Wednesday afternoon when we went, there were some folks there watching the World Cup on the TV's, drinking beer, and having food. We had wings. And boy, they have not changed the recipe. The wings, especially the hot wings, were excellent. Just what I was hoping for. My wife had the turkey club, my son had a mountain burger, but other son had chicken, and I had a club as well. Fantastic. Really loved it, and there was TONS of food. You will not leave hungry. Prices were very reasonable, especially for the amount of food you got. I miss the dead animals. But the Hurley Mountain Inn does not disappoint in its true purpose, which is to feed you, entertain you, and bring you back to simpler times. read more

Going down hill! Use to go all the time until now. I ordered pasta that came with 4 pieces of shrimp, imitation crab and tiny rubbery lobster that tastes like out of a can. I told the waitress it should say imitation on the menu and she replied the others are real. This dish cost $28. Other restaurants in the area are less money and include mussels, clams, scallops etc... AND real seafood. My husband ordered a steak that had 3 shrimp on top of it and they covered the entire steak, Very tiny. I called manager and was only offered a desert for next visit. Sad to say there Wont be a next. We got thrown out of Hurley Mt Inn with 7 of my friends because we all had credit cards and no cash. We only needed 3 checks. This was there busy day yes but still wasn't ok and wasn't as busy as past years either. They said we were being unreasonable and we could only get 1 check. We said we can't do one check so she told us get out of her f****restaurant now. We said we are finishing our drinks. She told us again to get out. Yeah we left. But they are in the wrong business. Definitely not people persons. Probably lost easily $500 plus table and the poor waitress gets no tip. Very sad. Business was so much better when Bobby Hodges had the place. Now there was a people person! Lost our business ! Advertised bagpipes...nope. No show. They did not post no separate checks or cash only. They could have made an exception. We have had parties there and dinners with friends there and was a loyal customer there in past. Never again they lost our business! Nearly $64 in 3 corned beef dinners that were basically inedible - money down the drain all for my mother who lives for her yearly corned beef. Disgusting, tasteless, shoe leather corned beef; I couldn't drink enough water to swallow this junk. We have had good corned beef from them before, but they didn't deserve to be paid for the dinners we threw out today. Never again - how dare you charge people for the crap you gave us? The cabbage and carrots were cooked perfectly, but I can do that myself! We were so disappointed and they HAD to have known how bad it was - anyone who cooked it and tasted it would have known how BAD it was. Save yourself some money and DON'T BUY IT!!!! The burgers are tasty enough for a frozen patty. It's a shame they don't buy local and use farm fresh ingredients considering we have such abundance in this area. At least I'd they used fresh meats and produce their prices would be warranted. The atmosphere leaves something to be desired. Started eating here about 3 years ago. At first it would be for dinner about once a month. For the past year I've gone twice hoping their food has improved. The pizza for the past year has been soggy in the middle and not very good. Burgers are ok but always lacking flavor. I'm going to disagree with the other reviewers. I go here with my wife often. The food is fresh and well prepared. The wait staff is courteous. The prices seem fine. We've had items off the regular menu, pizza and tried various specials. All have been just fine. I highly recommend this place. Sorry to hear others haven't had a great experience. If you swing by, you'll see that there are lots of people inside. The place has been there for decades.
