Chop job. Asked for a length trim and he took about 5" off my length, I asked for layers, all my hair is the same length, my hair kept getting pulled when he ran the comb thru and the amount of "thinning" that was done was so much because he cut my hair dry! ( i have wavy not curly hair) I would have rather them tell me me they don't know how to work on thick wavy hair than give me a Chop job! I'm in tears. read more

Walked in on a Sunday morning at 10:30am. First time here. My mom and i were at the fantastic Sam's in the same area but long wait so decided to try this place after reading reviews on yelp. The salon is very clean and everything is new and modern. Alan was very friendly and welcoming. It's a new business it opened January 2015 so not so crowded yet but i encourage people/fellow yelpers to try this place out. My mom was the one who got a haircut and she is very picky with hairdresser. She knows if they are good or not and she was very impressed with Alan! My mom found a new hairdresser because her regular salon place is closed on sundays. Alan was very precise and thorough with every inch of my mom's hair. (i was watching while he was doing the cutting lol) He also asks questions if thats what you want and listens to customers requests and suggestions. So I'm definitely going to get my haircut here once it's time for my haircut!! Last month I got my hair cut elsewhere and I hated it. It was so outdated and not nearly like the images I showed. I let my hair grow out for a month and looked up reviews for salons near my home. I saw dk had great reviews so I called and showed up at around 10:30 Saturday morning (no wait). Alan was amazing from beginning to end. He took the time to hear me out, understood what I was looking for, gave honest opinions, did a great job coloring my hair a rich, warm brown, AND fixed my haircut to the most beautiful, lightweight, natural falling medium length cut. He took his time, he let me watch a tv series of my choice, took his time washing my hair, and I left HAPPY. $70 for a cut color wash and blow dry is NOT bad and for the quality of professionalism you get, I'd pay more. SO, do I have a story, a few months ago I went to Paul Mitchell to have my hair lightened and highlighted to become a blonde. Never have I been so disappointed to the point where I was literally crying in my chair. It was very hard for me to put trust into anyone else but I took a shot with my new FAVORITE hairstylist , Lene. She completely changed and fixed my look , she added beautiful highlights and fixed my hair cut . I almost cried tears of joy because I felt beautiful again. I highly highly recommend LENE! The stylist Alan Yao would not listen to concerns when the color of my fiance's hair seemed to be off from what she had requested. When I brought up concerns he argued that this was the color that she chosen, even though it clearly was not, and when though she asked about the color while it was being done and he had assured her this would not be the final color. Of course when the styling was finished it was not the color she wanted, it was red when she had asked for dark brown. When I asked if he would be willing redo it to make corrections he refused and stated he would charge full price to do it again because he felt there was nothing wrong with it. While he did take his time and the haircut itself was not bad, this does not make up for the fact that he did not listen to her concerns, colored her hair incorrectly, and also insisted "It looks nice" when she stated the color was not what she wanted, and refusing to correct his mistake. read more
