Came here recently for a hair cut. I normally drive 6 hours up north to cut my hair because I am extremely picky with who does it and of course a creature of habit. I wish I got the name of the person that did my hair because she did a good job. It was a simple layered hair cut with some curtain bangs and a quick hair dye since I had a few white hairs. I have been coming to Yoo's salon (Salon Yoo) for the past three years, and I am not joking when I say that I won't allow anyone else to cut my hair. I no longer live in the city where her salon is located, but I will always make the drive just to have Yoo cut my hair. At this point, I've tried various styles without worry -- from long, keratin-enriched locks to multi-layered shoulder-length hush cuts -- knowing that my hair is in good hands and that I won't regret how it turns out. I also love that I can trust Yoo to give me her blatantly honest opinion on my requests -- I asked her once if I could have my bangs cut shorter than the length shown in my reference picture, and she flat out said, "No" and proceeded to explain why it would end up looking weird. I'm glad to just relax and trust her expertise, because upon seeing the end result, I know I would have regretted it if she cut it exactly as I suggested. Yesterday was my 2nd time seeing Yoo. I came in with extremely long hair and left with hair above my chest. The stylist Yoo even stated to me over a phone call that I was being a baby and hair grows back. Now only does she lack professionalism but she as well does not value or respect her clients wishes. Salon Yoo is a modern designed salon with different stylists. I visited today (05/11/21) and absolutely fell in love with the atmosphere! The stylists were wonderful and Yoo is an absolute angel! I was nervous about my visit after seeing a few bad reviews on here and my nerves were heightened due to Covid as well as the face that I haven't let anyone touch my hair in years! Despite my nerves, Yoo made it her priority to keep everyone safe (she even taped my mask on so she could work freely without having to worry about the straps falling off) and comfortable. I had previously contacted her with a photo of how o wanted my hair done and she exceeded my expectations! She was honest, open, and did a wonderful job. The price is ridiculous expensive. Not Mrs Yoo, but the lady that works there wanted to charge me $380 for hair cut ( maybe 1 inch cut), touch up for gray hair and half highlights in my short straight hair just above chin level, no much volume. I had known Mrs Yoo 10 years ago and loved her, lost contact and tried to reconnect. When I found her in Yelp with all wonderful reviews I called for appointment. My fault I didn't particularly asked for her. They asked me for credit card for deposit in case of no show. Felt it was weird when I was charged $100 but because I knew her from before I still kept the appointment. When I arrived I realized it was someone else and after she finished the basic touch up, half highlights and hair cut that took 2:15 hours total and nothing extraordinary, no much change from before, just slight color and cover my gray hair, she told me the price was $380! Before I said anything Mrs Yoo stepped in to look into the price and went down to $350. I understand if it was long hair with lot of work, but was shocked about the rip off. Hesitated a lot about writing this review as I knew Mrs Yoo from before but just be aware of prices at this saloon or ask before doing any job. Even looked at prices list but I was charged more than basic when my hair was very short, straight and barely any volume. I think i finally found who i'd like to cut my hair from hereon out. Was desperately looking for a good barber / stylist in RC who can do a great job with scissor cuts. Ok, seriously... What the hell?!?! I'm very confused right now because after the hair cut with Yoo I feel like I have never had a REAL hair cut with a REAL hair stylist up to this point.
