After looking over her work, I liked Savannah and booked a balayage appointment through their online system. This entailed a $75 deposit. The salons system sends a couple of email/text reminders before your date. I was a bit nervous since, in the past, i usually get a message from the stylist asking what Im looking for and wanting a current photo of my hair. I arrived to my appt 15 minutes early. There is plenty of parking in the lot, even with the other store fronts. The roundabout makes it a bit of a pain to get in. When entering, I wasnt greeted by the secretary at the desk. Kind of just stood their awkwardly for a minute before figuring out that there's an ipad to check in with. But if I had been a walk-in, which they accept, it doesnt give that welcoming impression. Savannah greeted me shortly after checking in and she was attentive as I answered her questions on what I wanted. Felt truly heard. Ive been on the search for someone to dye my hair and my past experiences haven't been ideal, color fades even when using the recommended shampoo treatments. Im writing this 2 months later and my hair color is still vibrant. Loved my cut, and the style I was envisioning came to fruition with Savannah's hands. I would say the washing process itself was a bit painful. Gloves felt like they were pulling a lot but I understand theyre needed to protect from the chemicals used. Music is being played while in the salon but I think a TV would be helpful, especially for those appt's that run longer. I booked an early-morning appointment with Avenue Lu Hair Lounge and paid a deposit to hold the spot. The appointment confirmation was for 7 a.m. I arrived on time, but the stylist did not. Instead of giving me an updated ETA or a chance to reschedule, he sent sporadic texts as the delay grew. By the time he arrived, he was more than 30 minutes late. His booking site states deposits are non-refundable if a client no-shows. I showed up. He did not meet the confirmed appointment time and did not offer to rebook or refund. He said my lost time was "out of his control" and kept the deposit. If punctuality and respect for your schedule matter, look elsewhere. I also explained to him that I am a mom, professional school student, and have a child with special needs. He told me that my personal life has nothing to do with him. Salon Tribeca, is this the kind of stylist that you want representing you? Erica(Stylez) is amazing! She redid my roots without using bleach -- just dye -- and somehow the color match was flawless. I'm so grateful she saved me from more damage to my hair, and time in the chair. She also really listened to what I wanted. I came to this salon to get a hair cut and balayage. I was made to wait over 40 minutes to be serviced. Salon was nice looking so I thought maybe it was worth the wait. While waiting I went in to their restroom and to my surprise the toilet was overflowing with poop. I mentioned it to one of the stylists Melisa and she was extremely rude. She ignored me and continued chit-chatting with another stylist about how her dog ate her bloody tampon and ruined a white couch she owns. I went in for color, cut and Brazilian Blowout and HUNNY!!!! my hair is soft and amazing! What used to take 1.5 hours to blow dry, took 20, YES 20 MINUTES! (AND it can last up to 4 months!!!!) I should have written this review a long time ago! The salon is super nice and welcoming but the real star of the show is Erica! She's been an absolute life saver. My entire life was bad hair cuts and dye jobs before her (seriously though-I got an accidental mullet one time and highlights at ulta that looked like a 2 year old painted them on). Literally by the time I met her my sister was cutting my hair (who had no experience or anything but I that's where I was at in life in general). Anyway from the moment I sat in her chair she was sweet and very professional. My hair has never looked this good-she even highlights my hair now (that took major trust). I got a "balayage" done somewhere else last week but ended up with bright yellow highlights that weren't blended and the color was completely off. I loved this salon had the most amazing vibes and my hairstylist didn't make me feel uncomfortable for not speaking the whole time I was there (I deal with a lot so me time Is mainly silence), however after only going 2 times and paying model price I reached out to Ayana and asked for another consultation before an important date I mentioned I would pay in full. To which she left me on seen if she didn't want to work with me anymore she could have told me something. I find it extremely disrespectful for her to not even give me an excuse as to why she didn't want to do my hair anymore. I would totally understand if working with me was something she didn't want to continue doing but leaving me on read after I drove over 3 hours back and forth every time she needed a model. So for starters my stylist tried to rebook with me when I was already 5 mins away from the salon and she came in over 30 mins late after I pushed the appointment back a hour.. that should've been a red flag! All I wanted was to bring my balayage up and tone the rest. She then started teasing my hair to the point I was very uncomfortable and let her know it hurt (she kept doing it) then after I rinse the bleach she tells me my hair is breaking more than usual.. it was so bad and she did apologize but god my hair is absolutely done! Damaged! I cried! All she offered was a hair mask and if I bought extensions she'd install them. Over $250 down the drain. She didn't cut it at all and left me with uneven frizzy hair. If you go here please do your research! I loved being blonde and now I'm going back dark and cutting all my hair off. She didn't even tone it the color I wanted! Okay, so I don't know why it's taken me this long to write a review for my girl Ashley Rouse! I followed her here from another salon and I don't regret it at all. She has never wronged me and is always able to accommodate anything I need. TBH, I went to another stylist once between visits to Ashley, and I regretted it immediately. The other stylist made me too blonde and cut my hair too short. So I had it grow out before I came back to Ashley. Ashley always gets my hair the BEST color (she's made me a warm blonde AND an ashy blonde) without over-bleaching my hair or making it feel super damaged. I always leave with the SOFTEST hair and she always styles it before I leave, even when I don't have any plans after. I live all the way in LA and typically go to mavlashes but my normal lash tech was booked in advanced so they booked me with another lash tech for my fill. Less than two weeks 99% of my lashes were gone. So I ended up coming in for a lash fill (it was basically a full set) with the esthetician Danielle here, I have a few friends that recommended her. I wanted to wait a few days to see how the lashes held up before giving the review. This place is like 50 miles away from me but the price is good and her work is fabulous. I haven't noticed any of my own lash breakage & none have fallen out. The lashes feel weightless and I don't feel any glue like you do at some places that don't know proper technique.
