This review is LONG overdue, as we used DL Floor back in May 2018. Don's bid was competitive with the other vendors, and we ended up choosing him based on his experience, attention to detail, and personal touch. We were restoring our 1930's home and found beautiful white oak hardwood floors under the dilapidated 1970's carpet. Don was able to sand it all down and stained it beautifully. He even replaced a few boards that had termite damage. The hardwood is one of the best features of the house and we're so glad we decided to restore it instead of cover it up with more carpet. Don's work was excellent and has stood the test of time through two rentals with dogs already. Will definitely use him again if the opportunity allows! read more

The previous owner of our house had hardwood floors and carpet installed on the original hardwood floors in the bedrooms. We wanted the original floors to flow through the house. So, we removed the floors ourselves and hired Don to refinish them. He spent a week meticulously and diligently replacing a couple of damaged planks, sanding and applying the clear coat on the bedroom floors to match the rest of floors throughout the house. The refinished floors look amazing and they match perfectly with the rest of the house. In all, I can strongly recommend Don without any reservation to anyone looking for a flooring contractor. We hired Don because of all these glowing reviews to refinish the floors in two bedrooms, and he did not disappoint. We recently moved into a new home with ugly old carpet, and we happily discovered beautiful yet damaged hardwood underneath. I wish I would have taken before and after pics because the change was pretty dramatic. You could not even tell which areas of the floor had the replacement wood - he did a wonderful job! We hired Don based on the Yelp reviews and the fact that we simply wanted to refinish hardwood floor presumed to exist under our three bedrooms' carpets. As all other reviews state, Don's quote was reasonable, the result is very beautiful, and his work ethics impeccable. He worked our first two bedroom in parallel - Monday tearing off carpeting and sanding, Tuesday re-punching every single nail and applying sealant, Wednesday and Thursday successively applying three layers of varnish. We opted for water-born varnish which is lighter color than the oil-based finish we had in the hallway, but which has fewer fumes. We moved back in on Saturday evening. Third bedroom two weeks later was completed by Wednesday 3pm and we are moving back on Friday evening. The refinished hardwood floors for this 1956 ranch house look gorgeous and we couldn't recommend enough Don's expertise. read more

This is the 2nd time we have used Don to add hardwood floors to our house. Most of our house already had hardwood flooring with the exception of the kitchen. Don was able to match it perfectly with the rest of the house. Our most recent project was remodeling the master bathroom and closet. The furnace was moved from the closet to the attic and so we contacted Don to add new flooring where furnace you used to be. Even after he completed his work, he was nice enough to come back again to bridge a gap between bathroom and bedroom since the bathroom tiles were not flushed with hardwood flooring. Don Priest does absolutely fabulous work. I have had 2 other areas of hardwood flooring done in my home and wish I had used him for all the previous work.
