I cannot say enough about the treatment I'm receiving from Dr. Zhang and nurse Viri Campa of DLV Vision. Dr. Zhang performed a right eye cornea transplant on me in late August. She thoroughly explained the procedure upfront and answered all of my questions, I was very comfortable going into surgery knowing I was in good hands. I got LASIK surgery last Friday and I just wanted to write this review to share my experience, and thank Dr. Dougherty for performing my surgery! I was referred to Dr. Dougherty by my optometrist Dr. Gary Jacobs for cataract surgery on both eyes. The procedures were made more difficult because it was in the middle of the pandemic. The staff made me feel very comfortable especially when you are talking about procedures on your eyes. My distant vision which I opted for, is clear with no side effects that sometimes occur. I could not be happier with the results. It is normal for cells to form on the lens as part of the healing process. However, the in office Yag procedure eliminated any blurring in less than 1 minute. I started see Dr Vosoghi 2 years ago after I was diagnosed with low tension glaucoma, cataracts and significant optic nerve damage. I was only 36 when I was diagnosed, and frankly I was pretty emotional and terrified I was going blind. Dr Vosoghi is always, so patient, compassionate and thorough during my exams. He takes the time to explain everything to me in very simplistic language I can understand, He is extremely patient and empathetic. I genuinely feel that Dr Vosoghi provides me the absolute best level of care I could ever hope for. It has been a tremendous relief and blessing to have such a wonderful and knowledgeable Doctor taking care of me. I have frequently dealt with Maria for my disability paperwork for surgeries and time of work, appointments and continuing care. She is amazing! She always is extremely helpful and efficient in taking care of everything I need, answering questions and helping me with my appointments. Recently, Maria noticed I had 2 appointments in 2 weeks, one for testing , one for a follow up with Dr Vosoghi. Maria is aware that the office is far for me to drive (approximately 90 minutes each way) and offered to combine the appointments to take care of everything all at once. Avoid at all costs! Horrible staff that gives never ending lies. First and foremost I called 2 times to get my pricing they said it's 250$ for an eye exam but they billed me 400$ 2nd I spent 2 hours at their office and "Dr Bala" skipped over any questions that I wanted to ask and got straight to business to talk about me forking over thousands of $ for eye surgery. I then was told to wait 45 mins for a person to come and consult me about the surgery. I said that's now 3 hours, they said someone will call me. It's been 3 weeks now I keep calling some 805 number and it's their "operator" And they keep assuring me someone will call me to discuss the over priced surgery "Dr Bala" suggested and I have no clue how that surgery will take place. After needing contacts for some 35 plus years, I developed cataracts so I made an appointment at DLV Vision to have the cataracts removed. I met with Dr. Dougherty and his staff to get a thorough eye exam and decided to upgrade from basic cataract removal to include IOL implants. And I am so glad that I did. My contacts were for monovision where one eye is the reading eye and the other the distance eye so I opted for that with the implants. Dr. Dougherty performed the surgery in two different phases during December. The procedures were quick and painless. Within 36 hours of each surgery, my vision was near perfect. I now have 20/20 vision in both eyes and no longer need contacts or glasses. I cannot offer enough praise to Dr. Dougherty and his team. Wow! Where to start with how wonderful this whole experience was. I unfortunately was not a candidate for standard Lasik but after consultation with Dr. Dougherty he felt confident the PRK procedure would work for me with excellent results. The healing time is longer but what is 2 weeks compared to a lifetime of waking up and seeing perfectly?! Now after 3 weeks my eyes have healed and I'm swimming in the ocean and seeing the stars clearly at night. No halos and no more need for contacts and glasses, such a life changing experience. Don't recommend this place! I finally decided to write a review because It was brought up about having laser eye surgery. I told that person about and she told me I should write a review .. It was nice .. at first then .. I applied for care credit to pay my eye surgery.. over $4,000.. then the day came for my surgery.. ( I checked in on Facebook)I was dressed with the gown... had already purchased the $300.00 eye drops and someone came in and the nurse said the doctor wanted to talk to me. I went to the other room and he said" I don't know why I didn't see this, your bon a candidate for the eye surgery.. sorry." So said ".. wait .. what! Why? .. he said " to correct you vision it will take several minutes and we only recommends couple of seconds .. and etc.. I was dumbfounded.. they had already charged me over $4000.00 on the card ... spent like $300.00 on the eye drops. I kept going and calling about reimbursing back the money. They said only the one that was charged in the credit card. My friend asked about my check in about eye surgery I still recommended her to check it out (if I recommend someone I get $100) she went through it and I told them about it and they said.. " no sorry it's only for the ones that had the surgery and they recommend their friend. it really sucks spending time.. money and getting the hope for the surgery instead of them telling me up front. I received an unexpected call from DLV representative, Isaiah. He advised me that my PCP had referred me to them for a retinal scan. Since I am a fairly new Medicare recipient I wanted to verify this prior to scheduling anything. When I called back to schedule my appt, I was transferred to the Camarillo location. No answer. I left a message & my contact information. No call back at all. I went online & requested a call back. No call back. I call again & finally reach someone. I'm told they don't do retinal scans there & refer people out for that. I'm told my referral is for an diabetic ophthalmology appt. I ask why their representative Isaiah would tell me that the referral was for a retinal scan? They don't know. I ask for a supervisor to call me back. No one ever does. Even though I was assured a same day call back. My PCP office calls them & they were told that DLV would be calling me back that same day. No calls yet. No one has called me back & I don't expect anyone to call me back. So far extremely unimpressed. No professionalism at all. Lies. Bait & switch? Possibly. DLV took advantage of me, an 86 year old senior. I was made to wait over 1.5 hours before being seen & the initial consult took nearly 4 hours; I should have been told in advance. Post-surgery, my vision was not corrected as expected. I was made to pay twice because first check wasn't located, but then both of my checks were cashed. I waited almost 3 WEEKS for my $ returned. They waste no time demanding payment, but drag their feet issuing a refund! The office staff outright lies - I was told that a refund was issued when it was not, they lie about who is in charge, who is in the office, who/when I will get a call back, and when a problem will be resolved. I was impressed with all the testing that was performed but I am REALLY DISAPPOINTED with the final step of the process. It was like buying a used car. The bad experience starts with my referring optometrist who I conveyed my financial situation to. Then with both Medicare and Medigap insurance I was told that I would have to spend SEVERAL THOUSAND dollars out of pocket to get the service they discussed. Otherwise I would have to settle for a different doctor with much reduced outcome expectations. I just got out of a 6 month hospital stay at PV Hospital, UCLA and an assisted living facility where I paid $ZERO out of pocket and was never made to feel that I had to accept a second string Cardiologist or that my heart won't work as well as it could if I would just pay more. This is nothing more than unprofessional bait and switch to me. As a lifelong Camarillo resident I don't appreciate being subjected to crap like this. read more
