Dr. S has no bed side manner, very abrupt and doesn't give after care instructions. Office staff and nurse were wonderful. My foot became infected after his minor surgery on a cyst, steroid injection (No after care instructions). 2nd steroid injection, he finally gave me instructions for after care. Urgent care visit, antibiotics, my foot is still not completely healed. I will never go back! read more

He was sincere in his words and tone and admitted he should have done better. I am now set up to be treated by the doctor for my vitiligo and other dermatological issues. Today I had the privilege of having a bothersome lipoma removed by Dr. Chabra with the wonderful Liz by his side. Dr. Chabra let me know each step as it was happening, Liz was very personable and gave me a great story/joke to tell about the bandage on my head. Only reason for stars is the kindness and attention of Dr. Safi. The office staff is a DISASTER. They incorrectly code your bill and try to make you, the patient, resolve it. We have Medicare and Tri-care, both accepted, and normally only pay a small co-pay of less than $50. We both, separate patients, receive a huge bill for a routine visit, charged almost 5 times the normal fee. The office receptionist attempted to tell us it was the fault of insurance. To have total clarity, I checked my Medicare account. The claim was never processed to our insurance!!!!! Having a terrible time getting anyone in that office to address this. So fed up with this facility. read more

I have had skin cancer so a really good dermatologist is very important to me. Dr. Sofa is not only the best dermatologist I have ever had, but one of the best doctors. I have ever had. He is friendly; polite; takes his time seeing you and is very thorough. He is the first dermatologist that has ever ordered a blood draw for me. He wanted to find out if my skin irritation was due to internal or external conditions. Dr. Sofa is also a mohs surgeon and was educated at Harvard and Johns Hopkins. He is terrific! read more

I saw another review that was changed from a 1 star to a 5 star and thought I should share my experience since it was similar. I rarely leave negative reviews but I had visited this clinic around 4-5 times for treatments for alopecia hoping for compassionate care and clear communication. Unfortunately, this was not the case and Dr. Chabra was pretty dismissive and rushed through every appointment. What truly made me speak up was the billing. I was told that insurance should cover most of the billing and I was not warned about how excessive the cost would be. I had my first 4 visits and did not see any charges when checking out(there was no balance on the paper work). However, after my FOURTH visit, I was hit with a bill of nearly $900. There was no warning, or breakdown provided beforehand. Healthcare should be transparent and patient-centered. Sadly, this clinic failed on both fronts and as a full-time student already struggling to make ends meet and dealing with my condition this is very upsetting. read more

I am a USMC Veteran. I've been treated by a fair number of Dermatologists over the past 45 years. I just moved to Tucson and the VA sent me to DMC Dermatology & Mohs through their Community Care program. That was the worst experience I've had with a Dermatologist. The Dr. does not understand patient-centric care. He was in the room less than two minutes. He was not personable. He acted as if I was a test dummy. He mumbled to himself a lot. I don't know who he was actually talking to. He was also in a huge rush like he was late for something. I did hear him mutter something like, "...this could be frozen off," but he never offered to freeze anything off. After he was finished, he said, "Your skin is perfect. Wear a large brim hat. Thank you for your service." Then he walk out the door. I could have said something, but I was just thrown off by his demeanor and his rushing through the exam and rushing to the door. I am a person and I'd like to be treated as such. Every Dermatologist I've seen in the past will strike up a conversation and make me feel comfortable. They will also explain what they see and give me options. I got nothing. I will never see him again! I had to drive 45 minutes for that worthless exam. I hope the VA refuses to pay him. I did not receive the service I expected. read more

Dr. Chabra is a Dermatologist & he also handles all Skin related issues. I first saw Dr. Chabra when my right eye & left side of my face swelled up. He prescribed medication and he referred me to a Nuerologist just to be on the safe-side. Fortunately, for me the medication he prescribed worked and my face got better. I then, saw Dr. Chabra for my acne. He prescribed medication and it is much better. He also did a thorough examination of my moles & birth marks. I recently saw him for cosmetic treatments. His bedside manner is fast, which some people may not like. So, prepare your questions ahead of time, because he will spend the time and answer all of them. He is very efficient & knows what he is doing, so if he is done, and you don't have questions, then he is done. Next, I love his late hours because I work till 5 pm. His staff is very nice & accommodating. His office is nicely designed & is located at Camp Lowell medical buildings, so its easy to get to. Hope this helps. read more

Within the first appointment, Dr. Safo put at treatment plan in place and found a compounding pharmacy to make the prescriptions I needed to finally feel relief. I have what was diagnosed as folliculitis where my right leg meets my buttock. Got an appointment to see Dr Chabra the same day - which should have been a warning sign. The good dermatologists are all booked up for weeks. Dr Chabra is an egocentric, supercilious, coprophage. I can only echo previous reviews that he talked over me, did not listen to what I told him, and asked me to repeat the very same information I gave on the pre-visit forms. In addition, even after I told him the problem was located where my right leg meets my buttock, he looked at and took pictures of, my rectum and butt cleft. He literally does not know an as****e from a leg. Thank God he is not a proctologist. Never going back there. His office staff, on the other hand are all friendly, respectful and a joy to encounter. read more

Ive always had thick luscious hair that grows very quickly but after getting COVID -19 I've experienced unusual hair loss. Obviously worried, and panicked I called a couple places only to find out they were booked until March. I called this office and they were able to see me two days later. I was seen by Dr. Safo who ordered blood work and injected some steroids into my scalp to help with the loss. Dr. Safo is very knowledgeable and gave me a lot of information to read up on. Amazing office, was able to get a same-day appointment on a Saturday which is great considering most dermatology offices are closed on Saturdays.
