Not sure how to assign a star value to this... called Monday to get a price on some service about 345pm. Guy was going to call me back. By Tuesday 445p hadn't heard so I called back, voicemail said they were open until 530 so I left a message, did not hear back. Called Wed at 345p, original guy answered, apologized for not getting back to me, said he would by the end of the day, or Thurs morning at the latest. By Friday, I still hadn't heard back. Trying to find a competitor to Liberty Bay, but guess these guys are too busy. Other reviews suggest they do good work, but no way for me to know. Off to Liberty... read more

I sent my classic car to DME in April 2023. After two years of them claiming they were close to finishing the work, claiming work that never got done, I finally had enough and basically had to strong arm my car back. They lied about fixing the timing, they lied about doing the tune up (wires, distributor, etc. everything still has dust on it), they lied about everything and did no work. They replaced the wing window seal with a seal that was not correct so the window doesn't close now and after the two years of neglect the rims are corroded to the point the tire won't seal. The tires are weather/dry rotted, a rodent got into the car...I could go on and on. I have to send it to another shop entirely because of the neglect, the lies, and BS. I wouldn't recommend or trust them to change a light bulb. read more

I took my 2012 Nissan Xterra there for a faded brake pedal. Went back a couple days later to pick it up and paid 300 dollars for a supposed fix. They told me they flushed the system and put in new fluid, as well as bleed the brakes. It was fixed for about 3 days and then the problem once again appeared. Took it to a different place where they flushed the fluid again and it came out black as a coffee filter. So DME lied to me and also did not fix the problem. R.I.P. my 300 $$$. Took my Dodge 3500 in to DME Tim had it diagnosed and explained the work scope (parts cost, labor cost etc.) I usually fix my own vehicles so I can truly say Tim knows his trade very well! Overall everyone was very professional, honest and reliable. I would highly recommend DME Auto Repair for your Automobile needs. We were new to the Poulsbo Area, and we needed to find a reputable Mechanic for our Car Repairs. After I drove our "New/Used" Car up to our new home on October 15, 2022, I thought something happened to the Transmission, because the car would not go forward. When I contacted the Firestone shop in Poulsbo because we have had all of our cars serviced at Firestone in our previous location they said, "We don't do transmissions". I several other shops who told me they were booked for months. I located DME and they told me I could bring the car in, and they would look at it. I had the car towed in to DME and Doug and Tim checked the car thoroughly - ran it through tests and could not locate any problems. Doug said, "I took it on several test drives, up and down hills, ran diagnostic checks and check fluids and could not find anything wrong". When I picked up the car, I asked what we owed and they said "Nothing, we did not have to do any repairs." That was such a relief. On October 28, 2022, when I needed an Oil Change, Tune-Up, and Vehicle Inspection, for our other vehicle, I took the car to Firestone in Poulsbo, because we have our records for our cars with Firestone. When I was quoted a price which was extremely higher than I have ever paid I was shocked. So, I contacted DME again and took the car to them and I was extremely happy with the service and the speed in which they were able to get the car in and out. On January 10, 2023, I took my wife's car in for new Headlamps, and they again did not disappoint. They ordered the headlamps, scheduled a date to install the headlamps, and had them installed perfectly and timely. The new lights made seeing the roads much better. We are extremely happy with the Service provided by Doug and Tim at DME Auto Repair and would HIGHLY Recommend them to all our Friends and Neighbors. read more

So yes they were nice. But probably because they knew they could take advantage. As a female there without my husband they absolutely ripped me off. Didn't even clean the nest that was in my car out like they said they would... I came to them for help and got half ass service cause they knew they could and knew I wouldn't know. it's unfortunate that you can't trust ppl about things you need help with and they will just do whatever behind your back. The worst, absolute worse place to bring your car in for anything. I usually give positive reviews but in this case I can't. The owner quoted me a price (on buying a used car for in need of repairs of which I paid over $200.00 for an inspection it was a classic foreign car} and was quoted about 2K to have it done. I agreed only to find out several weeks later that the cost would exceed well over 3K to fix (or I could pick it up in pieces (some choice huh?} I told him that if I knew the cost of repairs it might have affected my purchase price true? I paid him and yet the work was NOT done properly. Avoid DME auto service at all costs. I would give zero but that is not an option. They will keep track of all conversations saying that on x day they called you at x time and also on x day they did this or that. Now prove they didn't? DME was so helpful fixing the timing on my 1988 motorhome. It's really hard to find shops in the area to take it in on short notice, and have had so much trouble in the past, but they took it right away! They were quick and honest and now it is running like new, I am so happy! The pricing was very fair also. They were really helpful and explained everything to us. After being rescheduled twice for an oil change, I was told that an oil change on a 22 year old Ford would be $90-100! Unless you drive a Subaru or BMW or Mercedes your oil changes shouldn't be that much. It us too bad because I had other issues that needed looked at as well. read more

DME in Poulsbo have been the best mechanics I have ever found. They are fast, efficient and they really care about their customers. They have gone above and beyond the call of duty on more then one occasion for me. They have given me rides, let me cry in their waiting room and talked me through how to unlock my steering wheel over the phone while I was stuck on the ramp on the ferry. They never talk to me like I am an idiot and they always do great work. I love them. read more
