The lady who answered the phone informed me that yes they could be rekeyed and potentially could be made to match my original standard deadbolt key, depending on the brand. At no point did she indicate that if the electric lock was an off-brand it would be impossible to rekey them at all. She gave me a quote for the rekey service and indicated there would be a service charge for the trip. But again did not mention that if for some reason the technician was unable to perform the service we would be responsible for the service charge. When the technician arrived he looked at the keys and said it may not work because of the brand of electric lock. He was able to insert my standard key into the lock but said he would have to call his boss to ask if he could attempt to rekey the locks . The boss told him He could not rekey the locks because they were an off brand and then they informed me I would still be required to pay the service charge. I let them know that this possibility had not been communicated and asked if the fee could be waived. They said it could not, so I called the office after the tech left and they gave me the number of the boss. When I spoke with Ben (owner) he was condescending and rude, spoke over me and interrupted me and when I informed him that I would have to leave a negative review about their poor customer service, he accused me of extortion! It was quite possibly the worst customer service I've ever encountered in my 23 years of home ownership.

This time I put forth the effort to ask for recommendations on the Next Door app, and that's how I found JDs... JDs Lock Shop was REALLY fast (showed up in about 20 minutes), and even charged me less than what he quoted me because he was able to repair the old lock (instead of replace). He even made a small repair to my back door while he was out, no charge, just wanted it to look right. Rare, old school, family business type service. 5 stars!!! Repaired it instantly and fixed an issue with our gate that prevented it from closing all the way . He worked quickly , efficiently and you could tell he knew his stuff. As he was leaving he asked if there was anything else ... there actually was .... A door issue in our shower the was preventing the knob for locking it in place . He too fixed that . He was in and out of there in 20 min or less with all 3 tasks . We are very grateful to his kindness , patience and professionalism. Will recommend them a million times over!!!
