Let me preface by saying I almost have subpar experience with most locksmiths. I find a company with good reviews (maybe they're paying for reviews), call them, it ends up being a call center, and then some random guy (usually shady looking) shows up, then overcharges. This time I put forth the effort to ask for recommendations on the Next Door app, and that's how I found JDs... JDs Lock Shop was REALLY fast (showed up in about 20 minutes), and even charged me less than what he quoted me because he was able to repair the old lock (instead of replace). He even made a small repair to my back door while he was out, no charge, just wanted it to look right. Rare, old school, family business type service. 5 stars!!! I called JD's as a repeat customer from last year to have a rental rekeyed. The price went up 25% from last year. Stupid me, I should have asked up front what the price would be. This wasn't an emergency, I didn't demand it be done same day. I had gotten bids on Yelp of the max $200 for the same service from multiple companies and thought they would be in line with the prices. Boy was I wrong. I was charged $250 as a repeat customer. Do not drive to this office it's never open and it has posted hours. I have been there 3 times. Waisting my time and no one is there. I have called 2 times with the owner telling me someone would be there hours later. No effort to resolve my issue. Good luck! read more

Easiest 5 star review ever. Super friendly and responsive. I just needed an ignition key cut and had a blank on me. It's well known that Toyota ignition keys can be finicky and not turn, but he had my new key ready to go in under a minute and it turned first try. The value was... too good!!! I actually paid him more than he charged me because I felt like I was taking advantage at such a low price compared to literally every other locksmith I called that morning! 11 out of 10! read more

Answered phone quickly both times I called, helpful, friendly. Went by because I lost a lockbox key for a lockbox about 40 years old. He worked and worked to make a new key and finally said he couldn't get it. I bought a new lock and he installed it in a short period of time. Cost was very reasonable. read more
