He did a thorough inspection and made recommendations for treatment. He made us feel that we were in competent hands. The estimate that he gave us was very reasonable. They offered a free attic inspection -- and I later learned they also do free crawl space inspections. The technician, Chris, came out, went up into the attic, and came back down with several photos. When I asked him to email the pictures to me, he said he would. I've made that same request twice to the office since then, and I still don't have the photos. During the visit, he pointed to marks in the pictures and said they were "signs of pests." He also pointed out a tiny hole in the insulation, claiming it was pest-related -- though honestly, it was so small that only a bug could fit through. His recommendation was to remove all of the attic insulation, treat for pests, reinstall new insulation, and cover the outside vents -- for a total of just over $4,000. I haven't seen or heard any evidence of pests in my attic -- no scratching, no droppings, nothing. Yet I can't reach Chris, and the office still hasn't sent me his report or photos. So I'm left wondering: was Orkin being honest about an infestation, or did the technician just make a big claim and move on?
