I explained to him what the car was doing, that I did some research and it sounds like a phantom drain on the battery, told him that I unplugged the (-) term for 1/2 hour and was only reading 8.12vDC. So, I guess he recognized that we spoke the same language, he made a very prompt diagnosis and proved it to be correct quickly. He advised I go to Autozone and have the battery analyzed and guess what... bad battery! Dude was right again. He also advised that I had 1 week to have the vehicle "serviced". Now, I'm a Service Technician myself in a separate trade, but I recognize what he is saying. Essentially, someone who specializes in the extremely broad area which happens to cover your car also needs to use their skills to address the situation. They have the tools and training, you don't. It's my son's car so he will have to take it from here. Lol! In summary, so far the dude made 2 calls that were accurate, so I'm banking the one week warning I got was also a "heads-up " you don't always get. So yeah, got nothing bad to say about this cat. The car was in my garage at home. Allstate gave me a window for the service and the name of this vendor. About 25 minutes BEFORE the specified time Allstate gave me I got a call from the driver of this tow truck, telling me he has been sitting outside my house for 15 minutes! I mentioned the window Allstate had given me, and said I would arrive at my home in 3 minutes, requesting him to wait for me. I had gone to put air in my spare tire. We were traveling in the correct lane to proceed straight, while the company vehicle was in a designated turning lane. When the light turned green, we proceeded straight as expected. Instead of turning, the driver also attempted to continue straight, nearly forcing our vehicle off the road. This was extremely dangerous and could have resulted in a serious accident involving my entire family. The driver's demeanor afterward also gave me the impression that he was aware he had made a serious driving error. I strongly believe this company needs to be aware of how its drivers are operating their vehicles and should take incidents like this seriously. When a company vehicle is on the road, the driver's actions reflect directly on the company. Thankfully, we were able to avoid an accident, but the situation could have ended very differently.
