Dani is an incredible trainer -- knowledgeable, motivating, and always pushing you to your best. He has so much to teach, and if you dedicate yourself, you'll see real results just like I did. One of the things I loved most (besides getting my butt kicked in the best way!) is the strong community built at this gym. It's not a place for people who just want to pass the time -- it's for people who want to get fit, grow, and be part of a supportive environment. I've since moved to California, but if there's one thing I truly miss from New York, it's training with Dani. I highly recommend this gym to anyone ready to commit and transform their fitness!

Dan is patient, highly knowledgeable in fitness and boxing, and the kind of coach who pushes you beyond what you think you're capable of -- all while supporting you every step of the way. I would definitely recommend 187 Fitness whether you're looking for personal training, group training, or a boxing class. Everything you need to grow and improve is there

I am thrilled I found this amazing gym. I mostly swim and do yoga, but since I'm a woman over 50,…read moremy doctor has told me I need to lift weights and do other types of strength training. But I have a hard time doing it on my own - it just seems so boring compared to other sorts of exercise. But Uptown Movement changed this for me. I signed up for the unlimited classes, and I went 2-3 times a week. I've been at it for about two years now, and the difference in my overall fitness and well-being is huge. There is a friendliness to this place, an openness to great diversity in terms of age, race, sexuality, body size and type, language, etc. that is immensely appealing. I like the coaches and my classmates (mostly women) enough to make me want to go. The emphasis is never on how one looks or losing weight - it's always on increasing mobility and strength, especially as one ages. Before I started taking these classes, I had back problems (especially when picking up my 70-pound dog to bathe her), and I often sprained an ankle (weakened by a bad injury in my youth) and sometimes fell (my dog pulls me a lot). For the last 2 years, I haven't sprained my ankle, haven't been injured falling (and have hardly ever fallen at all), and more. And I can now deadlift my weight. In sum, I think this gym is great, and I encourage you to do your body (and mind) a great favor and join.

The classes and instructors here are amazing. Where to start? The air conditioning never works properly,…read moreso they cram large industrial fans which people fight over or point directly at themselves. The locker room ALWAYS smells. The floors are usually wet. The lockers are generally fine. Again, they have put a fan in there blowing at the toilets so you get that nice "Eau de Shit" because the air conditioning doesn't work. They have a machine in there that has never been on the entire time I've been a member. Fix the air, please. The gym floor is a lot better these days with the new equipment, but it still doesn't make up for the number of "trainers" that do not work there training several people at once, planting themselves up at a machine, that will now take even longer because every person they are training needs to use it. I can understand one or two people, but training like 4 or more people is out of pocket and just disrespectful to the folks just trying to get through their workout. Why did you guys move ALL the mats upstairs and not even say anything or put a notice up? Is it possible to sell protein snacks too? Lastly, the staff, for the most part, they never greet, smile, or seem happy to be there. Except the guy I'm guessing is the manager and the actual trainer they hired. Otherwise, it's just a bunch of kids that could give two shits about this job. They have a whole life ahead of them outside of PF one hopes. They aren't my kids. I'm talking to the owner, whoever you are. We appreciate the equipment you got to compete with Crunch, but we, the neighborhood, need more from our only gym in the area. Step it the fuck up, please!

Glad crunch is coming to give them competition. Maybe now they will keep up the gym. Its sad that a…read moreplace that's much needed in the neighborhood is not taken care of.
